I agree that this place is kind of a gem. Mostly due to its hidden nature more than anything else. I mean, at its core it's a bang-on/cherry bomb place where you can make your own shirts based on their or your own design.
I find it a bit more appealing than the others simply because it's quiet. You can't go to most Bang-Ons or Cherry Bomb without having to wade through a billion people and I'd never both trying to wait for a T-shirt with that many people. Full disclosure, I worked at a Bang-On in Edmonton and I know that more than about 3 people = huge wait.
Beyond that I've heard, not just from the other reviewers here, that Mark-It does some great custom stuff. Their workers are well trained and they have a great process for printing that many bands, artists and locals I know take advantage of.
So yes, it doesn't necessarily off anything crazy in the way of newness or originality but, at the very least, it offers a quiet, easy, high quality alternative to the huddled masses of other t-shirt makers. -

Nestled between a variety of random food venues on West Pender, Mark-It is definitely not a store you'd expect to find in this area, but I was happy to find it here!
There isn't much to separate Mark-It and Bang-On or Cherry Bomb, other than the sheer size of the store (smaller, by a lot) and prices (lower, by a lot...!). The latter is definitely a bonus and the staff are, as Darien C. pointed out, at the ready to offer you plenty of deals and steals. The young fellow told me that they recently started making their own shirts, as in designed shirt graphics, and that you can bring in any type of shirt you have or purchase one from their own collection. There are cheap hats, sun glasses and a fab collection of bright, graphic tees imported from Europe and Asia, whereby you won't find everyone and their dog (literally...!) in your shirt! -

Mark-It Apparel is a boutique clothing store servicing scenester style. The room is quite small but manages to pack a wealth of clothing into the space. The sunglasses selection caught my eye as I passed and I was at once drawn in. This is a great place to pick up flashy clothing before going to an electro show that night. The t-shirt selection is comprehensive with great graphics on bright colours. The prices are great and you can always try and talk a deal when purchasing a few items, the lost art of bargaining is alive and well here.
