Amazing. The shrimp taco Isaac is the best. Cheap, hot, delicious.
I stop by here every time I'm in the area.
And the soup they give you while waiting--what service!
Amazing. -

Love, love it! Had the Isaac taco and the Mariscada. Both are beyond our expectation. The tacos were loaded with seafood and vegetables, generous slices of avocado, and so well seasoned! Best seafood taco I've ever had! And definitely the best seafood taco hubby has ever had, too! We were absolutely enamored, even before the we've paid the bill: $10 for two tacos and two drinks! It might be worth driving here from San Diego to have the taco again.
It is not located between 8th and 9th street anymore, but between the 13th and 14th, next to a Honey Ko club. -

This continues to be one of my favorite Mexican places in San Diego. Even after trying close to 10 mariscos trucks, this is the one I come to if location isn't an issue.

The fish is super fresh, and you can get it anyway you like: breaded or grilled. The staff is friendly, even if you don't speak Spanish, though you should at least say Buenos Dias! Make this your new fish taco Haven!

It is common knowledge that Imperial Beach scares the hell out of the "beautiful people" of Coronado even more than Barrio Logan does. You may get shot and/or stabbed here while enjoying your tacos, since it is a taco truck in a parking lot near a Methadone clinic. But hey, welcome to Imperial Beach.
I love this place. No frills, working man prices, fresh seafood Mexican-style, large portions, and a friendly staff...
When you get here, pace yourself. Never order everything all at once! Mexican taco stands and trucks are cool with you ordering two tacos at a time. These are made to be eaten hot sucka! Just keep tabs on how many you ate. This is why most Mexicans pay at the very end of their meal, not at the beginning. They may want two more tacos for dessert at the end of the meal. It is a cultural norm.
Remember to ask for your consomme (Kohn-soh-meh). It is a Mexican seafood soup with a tomato broth. Damn good with a squeeze of lime, while you wait for your food to be prepared. Free to customers.
Although they are good, do not limit yourself to the cheap 99 cent fish tacos. Have one or two, but only in addition to one of the big boys.
My recommendation is to try my namesake, the "Taco Isaac". When I die, open my casket and toss a couple of these in for my long journey to heaven/hell. Fish, shrimp, avocado, and double corn tortillas. And I thought I was the only one who does that!
To the untrained eye, it just looks like a double tortilla. But to those in the know, it represents stability. You can pack so much more seafood and avocado into your taco now, without fear of it breaking and causing a scene.
This place is ahead of its time.
Mariscos Isaac, you are the Steve Jobs of all taco trucks! -

This is a hidden gem in Imperial Beach. Took my Singaporean girlfriend there and she craves Isaac's fish tacos more than any other food in San Diego.
The warm soup was savory and the tostadas were delicious as well. Try their Isaac taco special and their tostada special as well. If you are in Imperial Beach and craving for Mexican food, this is your place. 5 stars from me and more will sure to follow.
Update:
On our 2nd trip we had the Isaac Tacos.
One of the best Tacos I've ever tasted, leaves a lasting tasty residue on my taste buds. I'm counting the days till I comeback to Mariscos Isaac. -

Cheap, yes. The best? Let's just say I wasn't surprised that I would be disappointed by another I. B. food joint.
I'm just saying, I could've probably gone to any taco shop and got the same thing. For recently topping the "Best of Yelp" restaurant list, this was a big let down. But to their credit, I had their food to-go, not fresh off their tailgate.
Still, it wasn't bad. I just don't think I'll ever think to myself, "Man I'm feenin' for some Mariscos Isaac's right now!"
I had the fish taco and the shrimp taco. After eating here, I'm now in search of some fish taco redemption, and I'm fondly remembering those gigantic leviathan tacos out at South Beach in O. B. I used to hit up during their happy hour when I was a kid.
Heck, after this, I'm even thinking about hitting up Rubio's again.
P. S.
I honestly don't get the mad love food trucks are getting these days. I mean, seriously, if these food trucks really had good food, they would evolve into restaurants right? Just saying.

Found this place because of Yelp! It's only a couple miles from my house. After seeing how highly it was being rated by people i had to try it for myself. It's a little roach coach but i have to say the tacos are BOMB. I had two fish tacos and a shrimp taco for $4.50 not only was it a great deal but these tacos were stacked it's not a a small amount they hook it up.
The guys are cool and i told the guy that took my order about how i heard about them on yelp and how people really liked it and that i would make sure to to write a review. I took a picture of the tacos i ordered and will put it up right now. I suggest you go try them yourself they're worth it. -

I LOVE love LOVE this place!! the taco especial isaac is THE best taco I've ever eaten, hands down. It's filled with juicy shrimp, fresh avocados and other good stuff and its not a small dinky taco, so definitely worth every penny of the price, i think $3.00?
The Mariscada is another AWESOME taco! Its filled with grilled fish, shrimp and squid i think and seasoned very well. different from any other taco ive had, awesome! my husbands favorite~
only thing i wish they'd change is that they only take cash and close at 6 PM! they should make their spring/summer hours longer since the sun is still up~!
me and my hubs love grabbing some tacos and eating them just down the street on Imperial beach! :)))

Saw this restaurant while driving and said to myself "what the hell". Being so close to the ocean I figured I couldn't go wrong with a little seafood...and i was correct.
The staff was very friendly and helpful when it came time to order. The fish tacos were amazing. Someone recommended i try the taco Isaac so i did. it was even better than my first two. I felt like i could just keep ordering. Nothing is overly expensive and for what you get. I can't see any similar restaurant being better. I do want to go back to try some soup maybe a few more tacos. I'm addicted

Great food. Great staff. They hooked up a homeless guy with free lunch while we were there which is pretty admirable for a small business.

This place was amazing. Taco Especial Isaac should be eaten by everyone every day.
The Sangria was a bit pricey ($2.50) but the tacos were on point. I sat with two guys who also had the ceviche de camarón (shrimp) and ceviche de pulpo (octopus) and they loved what they had.
It is a taco truck in the parking lot of Honey Ko. There are picnic tables outside. Cash only. -

I love my boyfriend.. One of the many reasons I do is due to the fact that he introduced me to this place. I live all the way in North Park but my bf is posted up in I.B. and if the sun isn't down and I'm craving tacos to his hood we go because I refuse to go anywhere else for my taco fix.
The truck is located in the parking lot of the Honey Ko bar if you're heading west on Palm from the 5 it will be on the left hand side, be on the lookout for this gem of a truck. They have table out front that sits in the shade for the most laid back atmosphere that goes along with the friendly service.
I let my boyfriend do all the ordering because I love it when he speaks in Spanish and he always orders the best items on the menu. Although, I'm beginning to think that their whole menu is just off the chain because everything I have tried there so far is AHH-MAAZZ-INNNG!. Hands down, the Taco Isaac is my favorite.
If you're in the area stop by or if you're not take a little trip over there it's worth it.. trust me, this place will not disappoint! -

I love fish tacos and I order one from every Taco Shop I dine at to see if they'll continue to keep me interested for another visit. I read the reviews and I wanted to try the Taco Isaac. I must say... This taco is the bomb! Its full of fish, shrimp, avocado, and some other tasty stuff - all wrapped in two corn tortillas (one tortilla is fried and the other one isn't). I also had the grilled Fish Taco, which was tasty as well. It's hard to find grilled fish tacos in San Diego! Mariscos Isaac is located in the Honey-Ko parking lot, which is adjacent to the Rally's/El Pollo Loco shopping complex. If you're coming from the 5, make a U Turn on 13th and Honey-Ko / Mariscos Isaac will be on the right hand side, right before the Rally's shopping complex.

Love my taco trucks...I don't care what people say about it, if it's in the Honeyko parking lot it's a classy establishment in my book. Gottta love the sauce and pickled onions offered at these things. Ceviche and campechanas if your balling. This is easily better than all taco shops unlike some donkey says. With any food, you gotta get the right stuff at the right places. Also try the one at the trolley stop in sydro.

What a great taco truck: tasty free consume soup, extremely friendly owners and the most bang for the buck of all the trucks I've tried. The mandatory one dollar fish tacos are better than most, but the the more exotic tacos are exemplary. Try the Gobernador or the meaty textured Marlin tacos, or the mariscada combination taco - it's all good. . I love this truck! My wife and I bike down to IB every Saturday to sample this hearty and fun street food. And I'm not alone - there is always a line of like minded friendly folks to chat with you while you wait for your order. One more thing, their homemade habanero sauce is highly additive and will keep you coming back for the endorphin burn :-)

My wife and I had the Especial Issac tacos on another reviewer's recommendation and could not have been happier! Excellent shrimp with cabbage, tomatoes and avacado in two truly excellent tortillas (inner totilla was lighly fried). Yum!!! A nicely spiced beef broth was included -- very tasty. Add a bottled Coke to top it off :-)
Isaac's is a food truck located in the parking lot of the Honey Ko bar. It is very clean and has a table and chairs under a shade cover. Service was attentive and friendly.
Highly recommended!!! -

I love their taco gobernador. There is so much shrimps in it that I can split 1 taco into 2 tacos. The fish taco is very crispy. The fish soup they give for free while you wait is delicious. I always eat here during my lunch time when I am working. The food is cheap and delicious! The only taco truck with outdoor seating. They park in that Honey place....

Excellent! I haven't gotten excited about fish tacos before, but I really liked this - very, very good. It came with a soup to start. The only problem was locating the taco truck. It's closer to 13th and parked within a small lot. You gotta search, but worth it.

*Note: They moved down to the parking lot of Honey-Ko.
My boyfriend first introduced me to this spot when they were on 30th St. and I was a bit skeptical, but soon changed my mind. The marlin tacos with cheese are to die for! I have such a hard time finding spots that serve marlin tacos. I just found another spot (TJ Oyster Bar in Bonita that does serve it, but less portion). They pile on the marlin and in thick chunks... YUMMY. Their consume (tomato based fish soup) is free and is given as a starter. Excellent on cold days while waiting for your food.
My boyfriend always orders their mariscos tacos and Isaac's Special- spicy shrimp and other wonderful goodness. Portions are huge for what you pay for and the quality of the seafood is always fresh.
So when I'm back in SD, this is my go-to spot for seafood. -

Friendly, family run business, that takes pride in their fare. Straight from the truck's window, try the Taco Isaac, their marquee, with grilled marinated shrimps, avocado, melted cheese, and a creamy 5-alarm chipotle sauce. It's the more expensive choice ($3) but very filling; one is plenty delicious. Savor the tomato broth (with bonus shrimp) while you wait.

I love you, Isaac! I live a few blocks from the cart. I use to go to issacs when he was by the the autozone and didnt stop once they moved. I go atleast three times a week on a slow week, my order never changes, one taco issac and one tostada de ceviche de camaron. My boyfriend gets a taco a la diabla. You can always count on good food, great quantity and a resonable price, by the way the main guy there with the glasses is Eduardo.

Loved it...awesome tacos....especially the Taco Issac...yummy. Read the reviews, hopped in my car, picked up my brother-in-law....drove down to IB to see if it was for real.....it was!!! Nice lady giving us free samples of their soup while we waited for our delicious Taco Pescado and Issac. The tortilla for the Issac is tasty and the freshness of the tomatoes, onions and seafood were noticeable....recommend trying out on a lunch.

The best mariscos in all of southbay San Diego......dare I say all of San Diego? Maybe, but for now this is THE spot for FRESH, DELICIOUS, and cheap(price wise) seafood. I say fresh because at a restaurant they keep the food for well over a week in the fridge/freezer not to mention it's ALOT more expensive to eat seafood at a restaurant. At Isaac's it's fresh everyday. I have talked to the owner and his employees and they assure me of that. Even better, my taste buds tell me what they say is true. Service is quick and friendly, just make sure you know what you want of their menu when there are other people waiting. Come eat at Mariacos Isaac, you won't be disappointed.

As noted in some other reviews this truck sits in front of Honey Ko bar on Palm and not at Palm and 13th. This is one of the few times that I have eaten food from a truck. But it is the best Mexican food I've had in a while. Ordered up a couple of fish tacos and a carne asada burrito. Fish tacos had a good size piece of fried white fish in them. The carne asada burrito was phenominal, lots of perfectly seasoned beef with cheese and salsa. No fillers in this burrito like rice or beans you get other places.

Best fish tacos in IB, and you have to love the 99cent price tag. If all you want is a great fish taco, this is the place. This is all out of a catering truck that is parked in the Honey Ko parking lot. The service is very friendly. I'll be back....probably twice a week.

Issac's totally lived up to the reviews. The shrimp cocktail was amazing: flavorful broth, fresh plump shrimp, buttery avocado topping it off. My friend said Issac's Especial (shrimp taco plus) was the best he's ever had! it was spicy to me, but delicious. and, the little soup appetizer they give for free with each order was hot with fresh crisp but cooked veggies and light but delicious broth,

My girlfriend and I were staying in San Diego for the weekend and were craving mariscos, so after a quick search, we found this place on Yelp. Although it was a ~25 minute drive from where we were staying - we HAD to see why this place had such consistently good ratings. We ordered two fish tacos, two oysters, a shrimp burrito, a shrimp cocktail, and to truly have an authentic meal, two Mexican Cokes. The fish taco was delicious - everything was fresh, well-proportioned, etc. The shrimp burrito was the best shrimp burrito I've ever had, 'nuff said. Although I was a bit hesitant to buy oysters from a roach coach, I'm glad I did - they were very FRESH and quite tasty. The shrimp cocktail again, DELICIOUS - LOTS of shrimp, just the right amount of chili, etc. - also the tostadas are made fresh. It seems like the recurring theme of this review is FRESH - everything is fresh, and everything is delicious.

Alright so here's the deal: A lot of us like seafood but it's pretty pricey at most restaurants, right? On top of that, the servings at most restaurants are pretty small. Well, the alternative to putting a dent on your budget is going to Mariscos Isaac. I would suggest ordering a Taco Isaac (Shrimp with veggies) or a Taco de Mariscada (All seafood - fish, scallops, octopus, marlin, shrimp, etc. with veggies). The tortillas can be ordered either regular or Isaac Style (tortilla dipped in a nice homemade chipotle sauce). The tacos are packed with seafood and WILL fill you up. You can also order their famous $1 tacos which won't disappoint either. Feel free to ask the cooks for recommendations. Aside from the food, the cooks are very courteous. I go there at least twice a week. As far price goes, it depends on what you order, but you can have a good meal and spend between $5-$10. So, next time you want some good seafood without cancelling your car insurance (which I don't suggest at all!) stop by Mariscos Isaac on Palm Avenue. You will like the way you eat, I guarantee it!
