Marble slab =/= cold stone creamery...marble slab is 100% times better! Sure, the IDEA is the same, but only in the way that McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger King are the same. Everyone has their favourite & mine is definitely marble slab.

Cold stone ice cream is creamier and melts more easily. The ice cream is almost stringy, and gives you a sugar rush & can make you feel sick after just a few bites.

Marble Slab icecream, on the other hand is absolute perfection. It's sweet, but not sickeningly so. The icecream actually stays together & doesn't give a weird stringy look when you scoop it. & marble slab's Birthday Cake is amazing. How do they make ice cream taste like the birthday cake of your childhood? It amazes me every time.

I really enjoy the concept of Marble Slab Creamery. So you can pick what you like and mix them together.

The cheery girl behind the counter is so nice and helpful. Ask me if I want to try some of the favours before I make my decisions... Gee I really hate to choose... it is so mind boggling to have to choose from so many favours and toppings.. and wondering what will happen.

Now I find out I am a boring person, ended up picking Double Dark Chocolate for ice cream and Oreo toppings. The ice cream is nice and creamy and not too sweet!

One thing I did not enjoy much is the cone. It does not taste so fresh, in fact a little stale... I might just have it in a cup next time.

I really don't know how kids can pick what topping if you only let them pick one.. such a big decision for them to make! :)

I used to go to Marble Slab on a weekly basis when I was in Texas. I love this place. As far as ice cream goes the flavors here are pretty awesome. They don't have 50,000 flavors like other places but enough to make you scratch your head and think. With flavors like Birthday Cake, Cheese Cake, Peanut Butter Banana, Cotton Candy, and lemon Custard you may find it very hard to choose and then having to choose a mix in to pair well with it? Man I can be here forever. They do change up their flavors once in a while and offer new flavors in place of old flavors but the favorites like sweet cream, vanilla bean, and birthday cake will always remain and the old flavors will eventually return.

The process of ordering is pretty simple, pick a flavor ice cream, pick a size, waffle cone/cup/dipped waffle cone/waffle bowl, pick a mix-in or three (they are like toppings but it is pounded into your ice cream) and watch the servers beat the crap out of your ice cream with a spatula and scooper. Think of it as a Blizzard or McFlurry but the quality of ice cream is much higher and the texture is better. The ice cream is placed on a ice cold marble slab so the ice cream doesn't melt while it's getting the beat down.

I am both ecstatic and upset that this place is close to my house because I really enjoy the ice cream but hate getting fat. Bittersweet but leaning more towards the sweet side. The inside decor isn't anything special as most of the space is taken up by freezers. The only thing to note is that this place gets really busy, especially at night, and it would be hard to find seating as the seats are limited but it's summer and ice cream is meant for outdoors.

Overall, one of my favorite chain ice cream places. The prices are a little steep at $5 an ice cream but the quality and custom flavors easily balance that right out.

Marble Slab= ColdStone Creamery. If you've been to Coldstone in the U.S. then you've pretty much been to Marble Slab as well. It has the same system, interesting flavours and candy toppings.

Choose a size, a flavour and as many 'mixins'(toppings) you can think of. Watch them mix and voila. Ice cream for one. It's a fun concept and delicious as hell if you should choose well.

My favourite is Birthday cake and Oreo. Yes, I'm boring, but it tastes like a party.

Totally agree with the assessment that marble slab and cold stone are really interchangeable although MS is just more expensive. I honestly don't see how a cone of ice cream that costs 6-7$, though good, not amazing, can be worth it. The difference between CS and MS is that ill be a repeat customer in CS.

Let me state not for fairness that I'm not an ice cream addict, my ice cream intake isn't such that I need 50 flavors in my life for variety. That's probably why I do not appreciate this place like others do.

I love ice cream. Soon after this location opened I went in against the better judgment of my husband who thought it was over-priced. I ordered a cup with one mixin. The man who served me was either an owner or supervisor and he was very nice. He weighed the ice cream before putting it on the slab. He mixed it very well. He gave me a loyalty card which offers a complimentary scoop + mixin after 7 visits. I thoroughly enjoyed the next 6 visits. I take my 4 year old son there often and he loves it too. It's very kid-friendly with an old-fashioned ice cream shop feel to it. I gained weight but I still like this place! The ice cream is very creamy and yes, I can taste the difference freshness makes. I wish they would lower the price a tad, maybe down to $4 instead of $5? Someone walked in when I was there, then raised his eyebrows and walked out once he realized how much it costs.
