Marble slab has some of the best ice cream in the city. There are easily over 30+ flavours (including double dark chocolate, birthday cake, amaretto, pistashcio, peanut butter banana, coffee, etc etc) to choose from and they are constantly changing and adding new flavours depending on the time of year, and probably like 50+ mix-in options (includes every kind of chocolate bar, brownies, cookies, cookie dough, every kind of fruit and nut, coconut, and the list goes on). The waffle cones and bowls are always made fresh and taste delishous!
Basically the way it works is you can pick up to 2 flavours to swirl together on a frozen marble slab, then they toss in a "mixin" of your choice of course, extra mixin's are like .75 cents or something like that but I think one is more than enough at marble slab. This location always seems to be pretty busy at night with a line most of the time. Huge portions but if you don't have a coupon it's pretty expensive for ice cream (almost $6 per cone!) but if you ask me the ice cream itself is good to begin with then swirling it with another flavour and adding in some mixin's it's worth it in the end, soo good. -

I guess I'm a purist but I want my ice cream place to specialize in ice cream. Marble Slab has a different philosophy. The key ingredient, the ice cream, is beyond plain, lacking even a hint of vanilla - really it's just milk, cream and sugar. Instead the focus is on selling you the mix-ins to make it taste yummy.
In the end that's what you're paying for - the little mix-in things, which are cool but not really anything special if you think of it - nothing you couldn't get next door at Mac's.
In the end I give it two stars because it ends up being a lot of fuss and a lot of money, but not a lot in return. For $5-6 you get a big cone/cup of ice cream just the way you want it, which is kind of cool if that's your thing.
If you want kick-ass ice cream, go to London Ice Cream co. -

My girlfriend brought me here. As a marble slab virgin I was overwhelmed by the scrumptious options and had a hard time deciding on what to have. The good news is you can never go wrong! I look forwarding to going back for more combinations.
