Review from David v.
Surrey, BC
Hmm... what do you expect from a hotel room? A bed? Check. A bathroom? Check. A television? Check. Anything else? Well, you'll not find it here.
No coffee/tea.
No mugs.
No kettle.
No hair dryer.
No iron.
No local guides.
No frige nor microwave.
No continental breakfast.
No Bible even ;-)
What we did get was a cheep rate, I suppose. One night stay: $100 plus 15% tax. 15 percent??? What's that all about. With the new HST, it should have been only 12% but they fill out their bills by hand, not by computer, so they inform you that it is 15% tax, making a few extra bucks in the process.
We also got people screaming their lungs out at 3 o'clock in the morning (but I suppose that's not the proprietor's fault).
In the morning, I went down to the lounge (which had not been updated from the 1970s) to boil some water. The kettle was disgusting. I was afraid to open the communal fridge. There were two (rather slow) communal computers... and an electric piano keyboard for all you music enthusiasts!
So, we got what we paid for... a comfy bed and a powerful shower... that's it. It's that's what you're looking for, that's great. If not, look elsewhere.
Oh, and one last thing... a particular highlight for me was the empty beer can which we found behind our t.v. =D
