I consider this to be a hidden gem within FiDi.  It has an old-timey charm with classic Italian dishes.  It's not overly swanky like Palio, but I'd say the food is just as good, if not better.  There's just something about well-made Italian home cooking = Mangia Tutti.

The owner is very welcoming and is always the best person to provide a recommendation.  It's relatively quiet (but not creepily quiet) during lunch, so it's a perfect place for a lunch meeting.  I recommend any of their gnocchi!!

I don't give out many 5-star reviews but Mangia Tutti Ristorante definitely deserves one.  Walking in, you wouldn't expect the food to be as great as it was, but everything we ordered was devine!

First, the bruschetta had a thin shaved strip of parmigiano resting on top of the fresh tomatoes and olive oil.  It was a perfect touch to an already excellent bruschetta.

I ordered the gnocchi al gorgonzola - this was a no brainer for me as I LOVE gnocchi and order it just about any time I have the opportunity but this was one of the THE BEST gnocchi entrees I've ever eaten.  And believe me, I've eaten more than my fair share of gnocchi.  The creamy black truffle sauce was SUPERB!

My bf ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara and he claims that it was awesome.  But I can't confirm since I was too consumed with my gnocchi to be bothered to even try a taste.  Sorry!

The only unfortunate thing was that none of the desserts seemed to call out to us so we skipped it and we both love dessert so that was a shame.  But, I can't fault them for something that we didn't try.

Still great. Took my girlfriends mother here because we kept raving on and on about how good it was and the staff came through again.

The pasta was hot and perfectly cooked, guazetto and cabonara was gettin work done! What I really like about here is the olive oil with roasted garlic inside, its crazy good.

So far I have been here three times and it gets better each time.

Try it out if you want some good rustic italian food.

Yummm, the food here is great and the host is adorable too.  He either doesn't always know what I say or he thinks it is just better to pretend he doesn't...not sure.  Either way he is adorable.

I have had quite a few things on the menu...the papparella bolognese is amazing, but once it was too salty.  But the other 3 or 4 times I have had it, it has kicked italian butt!  I have had the orrecchiette, and gnocchi too and loved them both.

My colleagues are mostly veggies so they stick with the gnocchi and the arriabata pasta and spinach ravioli.  All are yummy.

It is never overly crowded but always busy.  Good place to eat and talk.  The service is always really great and attentive.  And the prices seem moderate to me.

Classic italian experience.  Better than a lot of places in North Beach.  And a staff who remember you and are easy to love!

Found this little gem during a recent trip to San Fran. Lovely wait staff who were attentive but not over bearing. What was even better was that when they found out that I have an upcoming trip to Italy they all began teaching me Italian and thankfully correcting my horrid pronunciation.

The food was very nice. Good chewy bread served with roasted garlic and olive oil. The pasta was the perfect al dente and not drowning in sauce. The bolgnese was hearty and very pleasing. There was also a nice choice of Italian wines and the wait staff is able to assist in making an informed decision on lesser known grapes. Overall a very good experience with no complaints!

    Manga Manga Manga!

Very classic style Italian food, ambiance, tastefully decorated with old Italian charm.

Ordered the Carbonara for lunch very fresh pasta, tastes home made, and the cream and pancetta were also fresh.

MMMM --- so delicious - I love Carbonara and this the best I've ever had.

Moderate price for lunch in the financial district.

Service was very attentive, and I never had to fill my own glass which was also such a nice touch which you get only at 5 star restaurants.

Whenever I am in the area again, I definitely will be dropping in for lunch or dinner.

A nice way to spend a Friday night. The service was attentive and very friendly. It is off the beaten road...a good place for groups to catch up. The food didn't blow your mind and the menu was pretty traditional but it was nice. All the pastas were good perfectly, just the right amount of chew and nicely flavored.

We got to the hotel after a long drive and just wanted to get some good food, without a lot of walking. Doing a quick yelp search for the 2-block proximity of the Hilton, we saw Mangia Tutti. Made reservations for 8pm and we're all set.

Arrived about 7:30pm as we got quicker than we planned. The place was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening. I guess I can kind of understand this as the Financial District isn't too full of evening walkers/shoppers as in other adjacent areas.

Got seated and it started to fill up a little over the course of our meal. We started with bruschetta and a small salad. Both came out very quickly and it seemed that the bruschetta had been kicking it in the fridge until we ordered... tomatoes and parmesan were a bit colder than we preferred.

On to the main course... duck ravioli for me and gnocchi for the lady. Both were very outstanding! I'm not a connoisseur of Italian food, but both were perfect.  We shared a chocolate souffle for dessert... one side of it was perfectly cooked and the other seemed like it was still a bit cold.

Overall, it was worth the short walk from the hotel, and the price paid. Having the restaurant not be at capacity was nice for us too... as we were able to have a conversation and not feel rushed out the door.

There were thirteen people in our group.  Although the food was good, it was not spectacular as I had expected based on all the Yelp reviews.   It was overpriced for the quality of food.  In addition to this, their bathroom was dirty.

The service was very good, though.  The waiters were very nice.  With so many restaurants in the City, we probably won't be back.

Came here with my wife last Saturday after we checked into the Hilton. Wanted to try Italian since we'll probably be eating nothing but Chinese food the next two days since we were right in Chinatown.

My wife enjoyed the duck ravioli and I had the carbonara which was rich and creamy. Both dishes were under $20 and very filling so dinner was pretty inexpensive. We finished off with some dark chocolate gelato which was very good. The service was also attentive and courteous.

I've been here 3 times now and have really enjoyed it each time.  Service has been attentive (even got free dessert last time), and the food is very good every time.  It has a classic, "checkered-table-cloth" kind of homey feel, which is a nice change of pace from every other trendy spot in town.

We chose this place for my husband's recent birthday celebration. We came on a Monday night, so it was pretty empty and our party of 12 had a good portion of the restaurant to ourselves. The service was good - attentive and available when needed. The food was good - I would say that the pasta was above average. I had the duck ravioli which was suprisingly light and not too filling like a lot of pasta dishes. It could have used a bit more flavor but overall was very enjoyable. My husband had the tube pasta with sausage - this was a good dish but really nothing out of the ordinary. A few others got the gnocchi, which actually looked amazing. I think we'll be back sometime - and I'll try the gnocchi. For dessert, they gave us a tiramisu with a candle - and the tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had.

The food is basically the only problem with this restaurant. It looks like Italian, sure, but tastes very uninspired and bland, oversalted and just sad, and for the price range you should be able to expect something way better.

Everything else about the restaurant is nice though. Excellent service, quiet, very few guests (might be the food). Dessert was ok though.

Basically I'd give it a 2- for food and 5 for everything else.

Good, solid, Italian food. We went here because we were unable to get into R&G (which turned out to be a good thing, see my review on R&G) and this is just around the corner.
The atmosphere was classic italian ristorante with none of the pretension of upscale joints. The food was delicious - a tip though: the creamy tomato sauce with some hot pepper flakes is probably more flavorful than the arrabiata sauce, though both are delicious.
The servers are amusingly italianate with either an affected or real flirtatious streak.
And the molten chocolate cake? Um, awesome.

I think people are affected by it's quiet location on the financial district but this is, a good Italian restaurant in the city. Family owned. Quiet. Red bricked walls. White table cloths. Great price. What they lack in marketing they make up in food quality.

One of the most amazing Italian restaurants ever!

I've been going there for the past 7 years and there is not one single time that I did not left that place, happy, full, satisfied!!!

Raul the owner and his friendly staff, make you feel like you just walked into your brother's house. He is super nice!

I love the food, amazing prices and the quality is out of control, always fresh, always warm. The bread and the garlic with the olive oil is amazing. I can just sit down, eat bread and drink wine all day long.

Great wine selection, great food, great prices, what else can you ask for!!???

If you ever around downtown SF, make sure to stop by!!!!

Mangia Tutti, keep up the amazing work!  LOVE YOU GUYS!

We even got desert because our entrées were so good.  I am Italian-American, my grandparents owned an Italian restaurant & deli.  I grew up surrounded by great Italian cooks so I know good Italian food when I try it.

We popped in here last night after an hour of slumming on Yelp looking for a place that would please the entire family.  Based on Yelpers' reviews I thought the family would enjoy it here.

I made a reservation through open table and put in the comments that we were celebrating a 16-yr old birthday.  We arrived at 6:30, 30 minutes early but no worries the place was largely empty.  Sometimes I worry that there's something I don't know if it's empty but I attributed it to the early hour (and I was right).

The friendly staff (and owner too I believe) greeted us upon arrival and also knew we were celebrating a brithday (good sign... they read the comments in the reservation).  We had a nice table by the window and had water, bread and oil as soon as we sat down.

We had a charming young lady serving us, here from Russia for just a year or so.  She was really sweet and made sure everything was ok with the food, drink, etc...

We had a few drinks and asarted with the antipasti plate of assorted munchies and then ordered dinner. The roundup was: ribeye steak, fettucinne and tiger prawns, homemade lasanga (special), spaghetti and butter (for the youngest) and me (ravioli stuffed with duck breast etc...).

Food was great!  Served hot and timely.  Everything was very tasty, not overloaded with salt, etc.... The only down side, albeit very small, was that my wife's ice tea wasn't very good. She's a bit of a connoiseur when it comes to ice tea so the tea has to be pretty darn good.  Anyway it's a minor blemish on a very nice meal.

The style is very "European" to me.  By that I mean we were never rushed... the portions weren't overwhelming... service was attentive but never pushy...  We could have just sat there all night and they would have never brought the check until i said we were ready.  That style of service is so rare to find in the USA.

Overall we had a very nice time.  They even surprised our daughter with a complementary slice of tiramisu (very good by the way) and sang happy birthday in Italian.

We enjoyed our time here very much and you will to if you are looking for a casual easy-going establishment.

    Absolutely delicious!

Ordered the ravioli filled with roasted duck and cheese - very good, but didn't taste the duck very much. Still, delicious sauce, incredible pasta, and yummy filling. Bf got the asparagus, mushroom, and sausage ravioli which was really good. Not too generous on the sauce, which I didn't like at first, but after a few bites, it was great! An awesome mix of flavors. We shared the cream puffs filled with ice cream and it was heaven.

The service was superb, genuine and attentive. Definitely recommend it.

Solid Italian food with a homey, trattoria feel. The appetizers we ordered were carpaccio and caprese salad. The caprese was good but not exceptional. The tomatoes were Roma, and since we're in the waning days of summer, they were still red and juicy. There are three stacks of tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil chiffonade on the plate, and it splits perfectly for three people sharing. The carpaccio reminded me of the dish I had while I was in Florence. The meat was thinly sliced and fresh (hours later and no stomach ache; always an important consideration!), topped with capers and generous shards of parmigiano. In the center, was a peppery bed of arugula which complemented the beef perfectly.

The house wines were good and reasonably priced. Don't you hate when you order a glass of wine and it turns out to be more expensive than your entree? It's a pet peeve of mine. Servers should tell you if they recommend something that's far pricier than other menu items. There was no problem with this at Mangia Tutti.

The best dish by far was the Fettuccine agli Scampi: ribbons of handmade pasta coated in a silky white wine sauce flecked with welcome bits of arugula and crowned with four meaty butterflied shrimp. My companions ordered other dishes and looked upon mine with envy. Their pasta dishes (bolognese and arrabiata) were good too, but the scampi was the best.

The prices are very reasonable for the area. Mangia Tutti is better than a lot of the overpriced North Beach Italian restaurants, and you can pop in for lunch if you work in the Financial District.

This is a hard review to write, because I was here with 36 people. Yeah, it was a HUGE party, so you have to cut the restaurant some slack. I can understand that. However, I didn't get to put in a drink order until after I had ordered my meal - a waitress did not know I showed up 10 minutes after everyone else, so she didn't ask me for a drink order. That was unfortunate.

Also unfortunate was that we were given a limited menu to choose from. This, in principle, is fine, but it didn't at all speed up service time. Food took a very long time to come out, and my dish came out last - 20 minutes after everyone else's. Even though I ordered at the same time. It was warm, thankfully, but not the kind of service I was hoping for.

The food was good, sure, and their ability to accommodate 36 people is definitely commendable. But I have to factor in the service that I personally received, and with that, this place gets 3 stars.

We visited Mangia Tutti this past week for Seamus H's surprise birthday party.  There was some convention going on and all the streets were blocked off, which left our party of 11 alone in the restaurant.  Here are the highlights:

-GREAT service, Antonio and Co. had everything covered for us, including comped wine and grappa and we never so much had to ask for more bread or water
-Food was delicious!  I had Fettuccine al Scampi and sampled the Orecchiette.  Carpaccio and Bruschetta were also noteworthy.
-Price was right!  Our bill for 11 was under $500, including multiple appetizers and our one friend who wanted 2 entrees.
-Our party got started a bit late and even though we were alone in the restaurant and I think they may have wanted to close up, we were never rushed or subjected to that awful "ARE YOU DONE YET?" glare from staff

It's definitely a causal setting with a great, although hidden location,  good food and wallet friendly prices.

Made last-minute reservations for 4 on a Friday, and... it was dead as dinosaurs.  Oof. Not a promising sign.  But 30some Yelpers can't all be wrong, right?

Food came out, and instant validation -- everything was delicious!  Orecchiete ($13.95) was wonderfully rich with fennel sausage tender asparagus;  Rigatoni ($13.95) w/ sausage & peas was completely different, and every bit as enjoyable...nice portions, too.  Ambiance could use a few hits of espresso, but definitely some solid dining to be had.

    Best service around.

We had a party of ten including a three year old and a 7 month old.  Thankfully for us the rain discouraged patrons so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves for two and a half hours.  The staff went above and beyond from a hot water bath to warm up the baby food to carrying the tired three year old back out to the car when she wouldn't let go of her new favorite waitress.   Complimentary dessert was a nice perk and all the food was excellent - even the three year old ate through all of her veggies!

Highly recommend for families - a wonderful place.

I forget to remember, but I remember to forget....

This is where the suits go for a middling, mid-priced Italiano lunch in the outer fringe of the FiDi. Palio D'Asti is more of a scene, but this place is on the mellow side. Even though the service is friendly and they're even open for dinner, Mangia Tutti is the type of place that's like how Kirsten Dunst described herself in "Elizabethtown..."I'm impossible to forget, but I'm hard to remember."

Part of the reason I can't seem to get traction on a memory of this place is that I always seem to be in the company of co-workers, and I am a dreadful small-talker. As I attempt with little success to think of the politically correct thing to say, I'll notice I've eaten my lunch in three bites. That's what happened today when I ordered the $12.95 Ravioli di Anatra, big raviolis with duck inside and covered in a tomato sauce. It was pretty good from what I recall, but honestly, it's left my short-term memory already.

Maybe I should try this place after work with friends and see if my experience changes much. Oh maybe not. Too many good Italian places elsewhere when you need to escape the corporate dungeon. Y'see, it's on that isolated block of Clay between Kearny and Montgomery that nobody walks down in the evening.

FOOD - 3 stars...not bad, not offensive, just not memorable
AMBIANCE - 3 stars...bland-looking with a weird teal trim on the doorways
SERVICE - 4 stars...very friendly and a little too talkative
TOTAL - 3 stars...good enough for co-workers but take your friends somewhere else

My friend thinks the Italian food here is amazing.

    I don't.

    My friend is Chinese.

    I'm Italian.

    I win.
