As a Chinese guy with short, straight, and relatively unfussy hair, 'styled' with just a dab of gel rustled through, I can't really justify to myself spending any more than a 20 spot on a haircut, even if the place plays fancy house music, offers me a cup of tea whilst waiting, or has bigger, glossier, more exotic magazines in the lounge. After all, said hair gel has helped to mitigate the adverse effects of some horrendous cuts before anyhow.
So, bearing in mind my fuss-free hair philosophy, I stumbled across Magicuts on Fraser, which fit the bill, literally, in offering a cheap cut, with tax and a decent tip in the sub-$20 range.
This location accepts cash, debit, and credit card, which is handy, and opens from 9am all the way up to 9pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays.
I got Sandy to help me out with my visit, and she was quick, friendly, and didn't mangle my mop. She offered a quick shampoo for free after the cut too, which is appreciated, to prevent embarrassing shedding everywhere I might stop on the way home.
I can't speak for the lads or ladies who may have more nuanced or more specific demands for their hair, but this place does the trick for me. I'm a fan!
