First of all, I love that this place is open until 8pm! Super convenient for those late work nights. I found this place through Yelp and after reading all the amazing reviews, I decided to trust Magic Tailor with my $350 jacket. While going up the elevator, I ran into another Magic Tailor customer and he was raving about the place after I told him it was my first time coming here. When I visited, it was also very busy - so I knew I came to the right place.

The dad helped me with the fitting and was very willing to provide suggestions on what looks good. He also stops you from suggesting changes that won't look good. They are very fast and willing to accommodate your schedule for pick ups. I'm extremely happy with the result and will be coming back!

This place does it right. While it looks like any other hole in the wall with it's kitschy yellow sign right in tourist central Yonge Street, I have yet to be disappointed with the service here.

The staff here are approachable, friendly, and (most importantly) very knowledgeable about the ancient art of tailoring. Whether you just need some pants hemmed or a brand new suit tailored to fit perfectly, Magic Tailor gets the job done perfectly, all for a price befitting of their bargain basement storefront.

Had a suit altered here last month. Service was excellent. As others have noted, location is nothing to write home about, but that really doesn't matter to the outcome. Proprietor was very friendly, patient, shared his thoughts well and felt gave good advice. Work was well done and no complaints. Recommended. Will use again.

Magic tailor indeed! This guy is extremely friendly, easy-going and helpful. He has an eye for detail, and a fashionable sense. I (stupidly) bought a dress online from this Chinese store... and the XL fit like an XS. Thankfully, Magic tailor did me the huge favor of altering the dress and had it fit like a glove! Another huge perk is that he gets your items back to you very quickly!

From my visits, I believe that it's just men working on the top floors (ie. fittings, measurements, consultations, etc.) whereas the shop (alterations) below is a team of hard working staff. So, if you're uncomfortable with a man consulting with you, I'd advise you to either ask or probably go somewhere else.

I would say that this place is a little more on the expensive side but worth it. It's also very convenient (opposite Starbucks at the Eaton Centre) - Two thumbs up from me!

I had 3 pairs of ladies jeans done by this gentleman - all bootcut - and he did an absolutely perfect hemming job, where you can see the original stitching from the manufacturer and everything. It was completely flat and seamless on all 3 pairs, and you can't even tell they were several inches longer.

2 of the pairs were $225 Rock Revivals, and I'm so happy I put them in good hands!

I will definitely go back here if I need any more hems. I'm super happy. The price was $20 per hem, which is what I was expecting (similar to those in the mall, but I think these guys do it better).

Great store with amazing customer service. I was helped earlier today with a quick minor alteration to a pair of pants that took but a few moments and saved me a return trip to the store. Staff was very friendly and helpful -- not to mention he didn't even charge me for the fix! 10/10 would be too fat for my pants again.

I had two winter coats that were sitting in my closet for the longest time because I was trying to find a reputable tailor to alter them. After visiting the Magic Tailor, I was very pleased with the level of service I had received from the staff and was extremely impressed with the quality of work done on my coats. Thank you! :-)

I tend to do a lot of my own tailoring, even by hand (terrible I know). I just don't have a tailor I trust. So a client of mine referred me here then a quick review search sealed it.
Cihen took time with me and listened to my directions as to wanting my new Pea coat brought in and trimmed up at the sides. The classic Pea coat is just too boxy and off the rack shapeless. As I was in no rush he asked that I come back in a week for pick up. In the end I'm happy with the lines being sharp and clean but the coat didn't sit perfectly and was slightly off (as in brought in on one side more than the other). I eventually went back with it as well as bringing another garment, leaning on the side of building trust. He fixed it at no charge and did a bang up job on my other piece. Very happy!

Brought in a pair of pants on a Thursday asked if they could be ready by Saturday, the man (owner I think) looked at his schedule and said 'yes.' I also asked if they could be ready by 3:00 and he again said 'yes.'

I wanted the waist and legs brought in, was looking for more of a slim fit, they did a perfect job! Great tailoring, friendly and they were totally accommodating, not much else to say.

Very friendly, helpful people and turn stuff around quickly if needed. Brought 2 suits and 3 shirts in and am pretty happy with the results.

They do great quality work at a fair price. I've brought items that ranged from very inexpensive to very expensive and the quality is always top-notch.

Service is friendly and they can rush, if you need.
The tailors have a keen eye for detail and can recommend certain alterations in order for you to achieve the look you want.

They did my boyfriends suit for a funeral at short notice and not only were they super fast, they did an immaculate job.

I went back with a broken zipper on my favourite winter coat and he had it done within the same day for much less than I expected to pay.

The premises is under repair but don't let the unfinished surroundings fool you, you will get quality work!

On top of it- they're polite and great with customer service! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Poor work product and customer service.

I brought 2 sets of new pants into the Magic Tailor, was measured, and had them both hemmed. Cost was $20 each or $40 total. Full disclosure, I didnt try the pants on when I picked them up as I assumed the tailoring would match the measurements taken.

I wore the pants over the next week or so but found them both to be very short. Upon going back the Magic Tailor to have the pants altered to the correct length, the owner tried to charge me $20 per pant (so $80 all in cost for correct hemming). I politely contested this amount since I was asking for a correction to his poor tailoring job, and the owner raised his voice and berated me in front of other customers. Needless to say, I walked out and will need to get a correction job done on Magic Tailors poor hemming job elsewhere.

My one and only tailor in Toronto. They alter suit jackets, fall and winter jackets just as well as simple trouser hems.  The younger gentlemen that work there are really nice as well.

I'm always confident taking my stuff here.

I'd like to say I'm a fan, but the service wasn't outstanding and it wasn't overly cheap... the whole experience was average and the service could have been a little friendlier... otherwise, they hem pants and charge you a reasonable amount of money for it... not much more than that... convienient location, right in front of the Queen Station exit... i guess that's a bonus... :)

I took two pairs of pants here to be hemmed. I should have taken a look at them when I picked them up. They stitched a hem too short on a leg on one of the pants. You could tell because there is a very obvious mark from stitching that was removed (holes) and stitched a bit further down to correct the length. Not only did they pretty badly mess up a simple job, but they didn't even have courtesy to tell me their mistake after taking my money.

Not going back. I'd probably have considered going again if they at least owned up.

I came here because of all the great reviews I read on Yelp. Not sure why everyone thinks that this place is priced fairly! I went in to get my waist altered on a pair of jeans and it came out to $30! I don't think I've ever had to spend more than $20 on alterations. The work that was done was fine (nothing special compared to the waist alterations I've had in the past), but I definitely won't be coming back.

The best!

Brought in a pair of dress pants a day before a wedding I was to attend. Not only did they do an unbelievable job fully tailoring the pant, but they had them done the same day! I dropped them off in the morning (10am) and had them back after work by 5pm.  LIke another reviewer mentioned...don't be fooled by the storefront, these guys are the real deal!

Flawless.

I came here to shorten the length and sleeves of a wool coat. There were a lot of little details in the cut and sewing of the original coat and I didn't expect it to be replicated. But when I received the coat back, it was perfect! They put a lot of detail in their work & it shows. Honestly, I couldn't even tell that it was altered. I will come here for any future altercations!
