This is my go to spot when I am in the area and need something quick.  The selection of pizza by the slice is plentiful with unique combinations, and they are quite tasty.

I have been in here many times with friends or by myself and have never been let down.  They recently(ish) renovated and it looks much less sketchy than it was previously.  Give it a shot!

Pizza's are ok and good vegetarian options too. I usually just grab a piece on my way home when I'm… Read more »

Sorry, but I saw a cockaroach crawling over one of the pizzas and I walked straight out. At that time it was called Amato's pizza, and now Mandanto...why is there a name change hmmm? I guess Amato decided not to franchise out the name anymore, and if that is the reason, then I can undertand why. Maybe it is better right now, so maybe you can judge for yourself, but just saying.....

I'll swing in here if I'm going to watch a movie with a couple friends who haven't shown up yet and I'm kind of hungry. I really like how you can buy the pizza by the slice and that they have a very wide selection of slices that you can purchase. They do have some really weird choices but I am a big fan of the calabrese and the milano.

Fishy. Familiar sign. Familiar set-up. Familiar tasting pizzas. Methinks Amato's has a spy! (Dunh dunh DUNH!)

I suppose it's not as sneaky as it seems. Apparently Madanto's was previously  Amato's at this location, something I failed to recognize in my years of living up there. Perhaps I just blocked that out of my memory. (Anyone blame me?)

Anyway, this is pretty much Amato's without the Amato's name (though the sign looks eerily similar). Too many options in a neighbourhood without high-pizza-lovin'-traffic. Thus, it's plagued with a lack of customers and chewy pizza. Not bad, but I don't have a craving for it either way.

But maybe that's more of a reflection on not wanting to return to this neighbourhood. Whatever. I'm still going to take it out on the pizza.

This used to be an Amato pizza location. It's now under a different name and management that likely pays its staff.

It's got the usual Amato-like pizza and for me that means the vegan options. They even made a vegan version that included things like zucchini and asparagus. It was fantastic, but it never took off.

I worked in the hood for over five years and came here on a regular basis. I will make it a point to have lunch here when I'm back in town!

Great selection of pizzas. A lot of them vegetarian options. I had a slice of spinach and ricotta. The bread was light and fluffy and the spinach ricotta combo was just perfect.

This is not a place where you go for a nice dinner, but rather pick up a quick bite to eat. And for that, it's just great.

WORST PIZZA EVER. We have had Amato pizza many times and appreciate the variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Tonight we were looking to order a pizza for delivery and wanted to get away from the usual big pizza chains. My husband ordered the Spinaci pizza... I love spinach on its own and as a pizza topping, but this one was pretty hideous. We actually gasped in horror when we opened the box. It looked like someone took a giant bunch of spinach, roughly tore it apart with their hands, and dropped it in a pile on top of some pizza dough and stuck it in the oven. It was about an inch thick and essentially raw, and all of the stalks (some of them 6 inches long) had been thrown in there as well. In fact the green onions also looked like they'd been torn into big chunks instead of chopped - perhaps they have a knife-free kitchen? The dough was extremely oily, the cheese was extremely meagre, and none of the toppings were cooked. We had to scrape off all the spinach to make it edible. I don't think we would have considered even eating it if we hadn't been so hungry...
it took over an hour and 15 minutes to arrive and came only after we called to see what had happened to it. Add to that the fact that it came stone cold... WORST PIZZA EVER.
Mamma's Pizza has a yummy spinach pizza if you're looking for one. Or just get a frozen Dr. Oetkers and save the money and heartache.
