Love it!!!! I go quite frequently and upon entrance, they already know what I want. The pizza is always good. Everyone is always with smiles.

This pizza was not tasty. At all. It was mostly giant bubbles and tough crust. The toppings offered little flavor, and I just ended up throwing most of my slices away both times I was dragged in to eat here. It was quite apparent why the employees looked bored out of their minds both times... neither of them were looking forward to eating their lunch there!

I was really hoping this would be some cute little pizza place, considering it's in the cute [expensive] neighborhood of Madison Park. I doubt even the people in the nearby prisonesque apartments eat here.

Ok, so I know you west coasters don't really know good pizza. It's ok. But Mad Pizza is just beyond disgusting.

We just moved from outside of Philadelphia, where pizza is good. So when we came here, we knew it wouldn't be the same, so we lowered our expectations but this doesn't even deserve to be called pizza. Ugh. Barf. Vomit.

First of all, it is ridiculously expensive. Some of their pizzas are $25.00! That is insanity.

When we got the pizza home, it actually LOOKED pretty good, but looks can be deceiving.

The sauce ruined this pizza. It was SO overly seasoned. I think they just dumped a whole container of italian seasoning into the sauce thinking that made it "authentic". I've got news for you guys, most authentic east coast pizza doesn't have any of that crap in the sauce.

There was so much of that, I couldn't taste anything else. It was horrible. Even if I was totally drunk, hungover, or dying of hunger, I wouldn't eat this.

There's this guy there that I really can't stand -- I'm quite surprised nobody else has mentioned him yet. He's about 5'10-6', long hair, older gentleman, usually wears a blue baseball cap

Long story short, this guy is a complete prick and has a lot to do with why I never come here anymore. The time I visited the store he rudely interrupted me when I asked what was in their caesar salad by throwing a menu at me, saying "Here, this is the easy way. For all of us."

The second time I came by, he turned the television up to the point where I couldn't even hear myself think.

All in all, this dude has no sense of customer service and they need to dispose of him. Unless he's the owner or something, which is pretty moronic in itself.

My wife is a bit more of a fan of Mad Pizza that I.  She prefers their thin crust, while I find it simply ordinary.  I'm just not sold that they are fantastic, but they aren't horrible by any means.

    FOOD
Nothing remarkable stands out about Mad Pizza.  It's far better than Pagliacci by a long shot, but doesn't have flair.  There aren't many options for thick crust that I've experienced.  Sometimes the slices - particularly anything beyond simple cheese or pepperoni often look quite old and scary to consider consuming.

If you like delicious salads for a reasonable price, you might want to consider making walking half a block to Red Apple.  I've not been impressed with the salads, which are certainly overpriced considering they are 95 percent iceberg lettuce and very few veggies or other ingredients.

They do have a nice range of combinations that I suggest getting right out of the oven if possible.  Oh, and their bottled soda selection is top notch.  There are lots of "indie" sodas and not as much focus on the traditional brands.  Bravo.

    AMBIANCE
Crowded and oddly designed.  You have to form a line from the door to the counter that often interferes with the already cramped indoor seating.  At most, about 10 people could sit inside and a dozen outside.  Often, the music is way...way...way too loud.  Hey, I like the music they play, but if i have to practically shout my order, there's a problem.  I'm always surprised to see kids inside when the music is so loud.  I wonder if the staff turns it up to drown out the sound of the children or simply drive them away.  Either way, it can damage their hearing and I'm someone who usually loves loud music.  I just think this is not the most appropriate time or place to "crank it."

    SERVICE
This is where their rating just seems to be stuck at a solid three.  It's a typical "slice" atmosphere where you get no sense of friendliness and sometimes a bit a pretentiousness.  Most of the staff are young twenty-something who are suited to be what I'd consider the Scarecrow video type snob of the pizza world.   Cut them a break though, low wage jobs and listening to an endless stream of customers probably does get a little wearisome after the first half hour.

I'm giving them two stars because one star seems inappropriate since they are far better (in my thoughts) than Pagliacci which I gave one star.  Mad Pizza may not be my ideal, but I'd pick them every single time over Pagliacci, Dominos or other mainstream alternatives.

    Boo Mad Pizza!
After a long day of cleaning and organizing our Mom's house my siblings and I wanted some nice hot pizza!

We ordered at 12:00 and by 1:00 there was no pizza in sight, we even called to check on it and we're put on hold for 10 min. and then they told us the pizza was on it's way and would be in in our hungry belly's in no time.
Well 20 min. later the pizza finally arrived, BURNT! Yes I know it's cooked on a stone, blah, blah, blah. But this was black on the bottom and black on the top burnt, we were too hungry to wait for a replacement so we swallowed our charcoal pizza and washed away the taste of burning with some soda.
The kicker is that when we called to complain they argued with us over whether or not the pizza was burnt!
So even though we now have a credit for a free pizza we'll NEVER be ordering from there again.

I am very disappointed in Mad Pizza. I saw a review that claimed that they were gluten-free. But, just to be safe, I called to confirm that they were in fact not using gluten in their pizzas. The nice man I talked to confirmed it. So, I ordered pizza from them, but it really tasted like wheat.

To make this story a touch longer, I was looking for the review that talked about them being gluten-free, but couldn't find it. I called again, as it made me concerned that they had changed their recipe. This time, they told me that they'd never been gluten-free and had no idea where I got the idea. It was rude and insensitive, not to mention really concerning considering the number of people with real allergies to gluten and how sick it can make them.

I will never order from them again or recommend them and hope no one else has this kind of circumstance come up for them.

Mad Pizza in Madison Park is all about location.  It's close to the park and to the beach so it comes in handy if you are dragging the kids out for a day of play and they become famished.

There is not much seating and parking is difficult (as it is anywhere down there on a nice day) which makes it even more difficult if your toting Jr. and his friend.

Once there, the pizza is good, nothing to rave about, but it's worth eating if you are in the neighborhood.

Look, I'm a Mad Pizza Frequent Flyer.  Tonight, for a change, we decided to eat in.  Blame the out of town relatives.  What happened to the five star Mad Madison Park we knew?

1 large salad (to split) and a Large Prozac Pie.  One Beer.  One Coke.  $42.  OK, it was enough food for 4-5 people, not THAT bad.

But here's the thing.  After we all ate a piece, we noticed that the pie was NOT COOKED in the middle.  I mean, NOT EVEN CLOSE.

    It wasn't THAT busy.

They did the honorable thing - took the pizza off our bill.  But for gosh sakes, what's going on over there?

I really liked the old cooked crusts of days gone by.  This doughy mass has convinced my wife that our Mad days are over, that they've started cutting corners or something.  After two or three hundred pizzas, now they're going all white bread on us?

    I'll give them a chance to redeem themselves.  But it may be a while.  {{sniff}}

So this gets a 4 stars based on all the other pizza in Seattle.  I like the artisan/Neapolitan style pizza around here, but my husband can't stand it and just wishes there was a good old Jet's.  Since there is not, we have been scouring to find something even marginally close to regular pizza that is not as horrible as Pizza Hut or Dominos.  Though we are still working out the toppings, the overall pizza is good.  Good amount of sauce, good crust.  It is pricey but then again all pizza that's any good around here is.

Nom nom nom.... Watching the depressing Husky game yesterday my friends and I decided we needed some pizza to go along with the Red Hook keg leftover from Halloween. After a not so quick Google search we found MAD Pizza and ordered a "MAD Life Crisis" which made me laugh out loud when my friend ordered it on the phone (I thought it was a joke). When it arrived it was quickly devoured - the large definitely wasn't big enough for 5 people. I wanted more - the roasted garlic cloves on top was the icing on the cake. Yummmmmm.

The pizza here is pretty good- thick, relatively inexpensive. The beers available are good and not too pricey. Though the size isn't too big, the outdoor seating and people watching is nice in the spring/summer. Grab a slice and walk to the beach in the summer, or sit by the window on a rainy day, sip a beer with friends, and wonder if the next day will clear up.

Food is just as good at other Mad Pizzas but parking can be tricky, sometimes it's busy and no tables available.  Also have to contend with some snooty Madison Park go-ers which can be way annoying.....if you don't live down there they look at you like you're some sort of freak.  Whatever.  Just as easy to head to First Hill for a more human crowd.

The food is decent but you really pay for the convenience, location and people watching.  While the workers are young, the mostly male staff don't seem to let that get in the way of being cordial.  The female staff, however, can often be hostile and unpleasant, to both kids and adults alike, and I'm unsure why that is.  Kids love the location near the fantastic Scoop du Jour and the park, and the outdoor seating, but the hit-and-miss luck at getting sometimes downright hostile service makes it often a distasteful experience.  This is too bad, as the neighborhood ambience, parking and proximity to many other popular spots make it an obvious choice for lunch or dinner.
