This place is crazy.
First up, it's so old and run down and unassuming that I never would have given it another thought had car fanatic friends not raved about this place.
Due to the distinct lack of wand washes in the lower mainland, washing your car yourself is not much of an option unless you're wiling to drive to Burnaby. After that you have your auto washes which only take care of the outside (and poorly at that), and the expensive luxury detailing places which we all know about but can't really afford on a regular basis.
And then there's this place.
Your car won't be the cleanest it's ever been, and the inside would probably have to be gone over twice before it would be perfect, but that's not the point.
Given about 10 minutes and $15 (give or take, depending on the size of your vehicle and if it's "extra dirty"), a swarm of people descend upon your vehicle to wash, wipe, vacuum (yes, inside), and generally prettify.
It's not the best job in the entire world, but it's well worth the paltry $15 (+tip, because otherwise you feel horribly guilty) and 10 minutes of time to get a car that is date or Mom worthy, or just a little nicer to be in for that group road trip up the coast!
And when this place costs LESS than the cheapest option at the fancy North Van automatic EasyWash, it really puts the value into perspective -

Decent price for a decent car wash. My car kept telling me that it needs a bath big time because of rain, snow, rain and more rain. Since I drive by M & J Car wash quite frequently while enroute to work, I thought I'd try it for convienence sake.
Well.......for starter, it's quite inexpensive and they have a team of guys washing cars. Because of the price and wash cars quite quickly, there was a line up at the place. Yet the guys there directed the cars quite well, so the cars didn't bump into each other and moved along quite nicely. They did an ok job with washing my car. I couldn't expect that much from such a price and didn't wipe the interior of my car.
At the end of the day, it's bloody cold outside and I didn't want to wash my own car. So the boys at M & J Car Wash washed my car in a timely fashion and I was out the door quite quickly. They did it with a smile on their face. Good for them. So when my car tells me it needs a bath, I know where to go. -

When you just want someone else to take care of everything... M & J's is a bare bones, options-free, get'er done car wash but the staff are very diligent and pleasant. For $16 (more for wagons and bigger vehicles) you get an interior vacuum, dash and inside windshield wipe down, and hand wash and dry of the exterior. Of course, you would pay $8 for the same service in Los Angeles...

These guys are great. For $18 ...plus tip of course (and I suggest you tip generously) I had 7 different guys working on my car! They vacuumed the interior, cleaned the dash and washed and dried my car from top to bottom. They were all really friendly too. I was already paying for car washes and coin operated vacuums at the gas station. For only a few bucks more I can get it all done for me here. I will be back regularly!!
