Fantastic portions and flavorful fair! Mom & Pop joint - It can get busy and we attribute this to the re-peat clientele - Its good - People return :D The owners are funny and friendly if they are not backed up you will find them laughing & chatting with customers. They are a favorite for a Friday night movie and a meal for my husband and I. In fact weve ordered a delicious pizza for tonight ... they are very generous with the fresh cheese ... love it!

This restaurant is not a place to go for a Donair. They just don't do it right but they are very generous with the size and toppings. If you are really in the mood for one I would look elsewhere.
Besides donairs they also serve pizza, burgers, chicken fingers and some other items. They are all just OK. The place in general is pretty average and good if you are hungry and it's right there. It's not the type of place you would go trekking for.
The entire experience is just average. -

I ordered a mushroom burger from here. I'd have to compare it to Burger Baron, only I prefer the ones at Burger Baron.
When I first arrived, it was around 11:15am and the guy cooking was already stressed about having too many orders. There were only a couple of other people waiting. So I sat and waited and finally got my burger. When I went back to the counter The lady that worked there opened up a bit when some other customer started talking about local stuff. Something spawned by a TV clip.
So, I'd have to say average at best. -

Donair rating: amazing.
If you're looking for a fresh, well-cooked, tasty donair, this is it!. I've had basically every donair in the west end and I must say this is my hands-down fave. They grill the meat before wrapping it up, which is awesome. The meat is always done just right, fresh lettuce, tom and onions. The family who runs it is friendly, fast, and the prices are good for the size and quality. -

This is an independently-owned burger and donair shop. The selection of burgers, like Kerri points out, is similar to that of Burger Baron. Whether or not it is any better is really up to one's personal preference. I have had the mushroom burger here too upon occasion, and found it more substantial than in other places. The donairs are quite large, and about average in terms of quality and taste. Other foods here include felafel, chicken fingers, and pizza - lots of pizza. I have not had a pizza here in a long time, but the prices are reasonable. The place can get pretty backed up around lunchtime, and you can end up waiting a bit for your order. Great to stop in if you're in the area, but certainly not worth going out of your way.

I eat at literally every donair store that I can and Camil's are certainly among the best. With that being said, I would not say they are traditional "Halifax" style donairs. The sauce, although of the 'sweet' variety, is quite a bit different in that it doesn't seem to use vinegar as a base. Instead, the base tastes like mayo and sour cream mixed. Delicious, yes, but just a bit different. Another thing is that the donairs are HUGE - I hardly ever finish a jumbo and I'm a big eater! Finally, the pita can be a bit dry so I always ask them to steam it for extra time which fixes that problem.
