I found Lush and Lavish because I am in love with the products they carry, Eminence.  I googled salons in Toronto that carry them and I found Lush and Lavish.  I am so happy that I did!  For about 6 months I had terrible acne, which was unusual for me and I needed help taking care of it and getting it under control.  I went for a series of facials and then I started getting other services, such as:  Brazilian waxes, pedicures, etc.  They are absolutely that best spa in the city.  They are friendly, educated, and amazing at what they do!  I love that they are a green spa and sell the Eminence products (they are REALLY hard to find!).  I love the down-to-earth culture there, they are not pretentious or unwelcoming!  I truly believe that you get what you pay for and when I have someone doing my Brazilian, aka, my legs spread on a table in compromising positions with hot wax involved - I want the best!

They are fine, but expensive. Really expensive! I paid for a simple eyebrow waxing & tinting and a pedicure 100$ (with tip). Julia (see my other review) was half as expensive and did better job with my eyebrows, to be honest.
They also promised me a coffee and I had to remind my waxing helper twice to get it eventually. It came in a paper cup -- so much for enviromental care.

Usually when I walk into salons, I feel terribly intimidated and afraid of what can happen. This is because I had several "ugly haircut" and bad blowdry experiences in my life, which scarred me so badly that I just let my hair grow for years, or I cut it myself (very, very bad move).

But when I saw this pretty salon pop up on Ossington, I couldn't resist. It looked so cute and cozy inside that I booked an appointment for a haircut, and even thought I would take a risk with my hair and not actually get the same side-swept bangs I've had since I was 12.

As soon as I walked in, I loved the place. I also loved that I didn't have to wait even though I was early, and my stylist had really cute hair and was fun to talk to. Time flew by, all of a sudden I had beautiful hair that smelled great (whatever shampoo they used was delicious), and I was so so happy.

I took out a huge chunk of cash, expecting that this awesome haircut would cost me a fortune...and it was so cheap! $51 but 25% off for the first couple weeks, so I got a GREAT haircut for about $40, and I didn't even have to go to the old Italian woman that my mom goes to for those kind of prices. I looked amazing and I had a ton of money left over.

Lush & Lavish is totally my new salon, I absolutely love it. And after seeing all the people getting their nails done behind me, I was tempted -- apparently all their nail products are vegan and free of a whole bunch of gross chemicals. My nails would be just as happy as my hair.

Uh oh! Looks Parlour {1} has some competition.
My hair was needing some TLC and my bangs desperately needed a trim. in true asshole fashion, I wanted for the last minute to book and appointment at Parlour and sadly I couldn't get in. I spent the next hour aimlessly calling places to see if anyone had anything available and of course no one did.

I decided to do exactly what I did to find Parlour, I got on a bus and fired up Yelp to see what I could find. First place on that list was Lush & Lavish Salon Spa and they had an opening.

I was offered a tea, didn't have to wait at all to be seen and my stylist Sarah was sweet. We both reminisced about our East Coast connection, tattoos and how much we loved Toronto. I told her about my struggle to find good anti-frizz product that had no silicone and she suggested Kevin Murphy Easy Rider (and even gave me a sample).

The price for my cut was a bit more than I pay with Parlour but I was told that in between band trims are complimentary. I still love Parlour but it's good to know I have a backup plan nearby for next time :-)

Staff is very nice. Prices are pretty good.

i was slightly put off by the fact that while I made an appointment for a blow-out a few days in advance, and my s-i-l made one a few hours in advance, when we arrived together for our appointments at the same time, she was taken right away and I had to wait. Whatever, everything else was good. Products smell really nice, and once they did take care of me(15 minutes later), it was pretty quick and looked great

Lush & Lavish is the closest salon to my apartment so I had high hopes that it could become my new regular spot. It is awfully cute, and stocks great product lines (such as Jurlique) including several organic ones.

I've only used they spa services and was reasonably satisfied. The aesthetician was really friendly and did a great job on my nails, but the  facial wasn't amazing enough to make me want to book a follow-up appointment. Also, when I tried to book manicures for my sister and I, we would have had to be done separately which was kind of a bummer. Never had my hair done there, but everyone comes out looking pretty polished.

A lovely place that I'll probably go back to!

I came accross Lush & Lavish in a frantic Yelp search the morning of a friend's wedding. I had come in from Boston the day before and my poor hair was suffering from some severe post-midterm nastyness. After calling around to several different places that either wouldn't take me without an appt or didn't just do blow-outs/styling. Thankfully I found Lush & Lavish and the woman I spoke to on the phone was incredible, told me to come down in 30 min and they would fix me right up.

As promised, Lush & Lavish took phenominal care of me. I was greated by 2 of the friendly girls who were at the front, one took my jacked while the other found my stylist. We talked for about 5 minutes about what I was thinking and what we could do given the time constraints. Within 45 minutes we had washed, dried, curled and braided my incredibly thick and wavy hair (actually - my regular stylist tells me I have "African Bushwoman hair" to give y'all an idea), turned me into something wedding appropriate and hopped back into the subway.

Will definately keep their number handy for the next round of weddings this summer!

I would never go here again and I do not recommend it to anyone.

On one visit I had a full brazilian.  It was pricey and it took a half hour which is a long time and usually means they're going over the same area more than once.  I ended up pretty raw.

On second visit I took "advantage" of their get-ready-for-the-party package that offered "Hair, make-up and a manicure."  I had the manicure first and it took an hour.  What?  How.  No massage, no cuticle cutting, just shaping, buffing and painstakingly slow nail painting.  Then I had my hair done.  I asked her to do half up, and the rest in curls.  She curled my hair in large curls with the ends not tucked in so they had that unfinished looked.  She didn't pin half of my hair back, but said she'd do it after she did my make-up.  She did my make up - she put dark purple on the inside of my lids in the very place that MOST people put a light colour or a highlight - I looked like I had two black eyes.  I said "usually I put the dark colour in my crease or on the outside part of my lid, not the inside" so she took that off, and then applied a little more make up (but not to my crease) and was done.  She didn't do my eyeliner or mascara at my request because I knew at this point I could do a better job.  So after my "make up application" which was basically foundation, powder and a botched eyeshadow job that I asked her to take off, she "finished" my hair but pining back a few of the curls -  NOT pining up, but pining back.  Even though I had asked for half up and half in curls.  She then pronounced she was done.  To make matters worse I knew the curls wouldn't stay in - she had hardly held the curling iron in place (and don't forget the unfinished ends).  So I go up to pay - believe it or not I had agreed to pay $90.00 for this. I assumer 30 for nails, 30 for hair, and 30 for the "make-up application".  I was charged $127.00 because I asked for an "up-do" and really the usually only do a "blowdry."  I didn't argue I just wanted out of there - but A) they should have specified "blowdry" in the ad (and I had washed and dried my own hair before coming in specifically to save time and effort) and B) I would hardly call what they did to my hair an "up-do" - the curls fell out within 30 minutes.

This is a shop of completely amateurs - maybe they have training, but they have no interest in doing their jobs well.  I do not recommend this place to anyone interested in quality.  Sure it is a bit cheaper than other places, but I could have saved the $127 and a lot of time and just done everything myself and it would have looked a lot better.
