Review from Anni L.
I have been a fan and religious customer (almost fanatic) of lululemon for several years now.
What I love about the clothing is that not only does it fit well, absorbs sweat, makes you look good, but its also long lasting if you wash it in cold water and hang dry.
It is more expensive than most, but i look at it as an investment. All the items that I have bought more than 5 years ago are still wearable and look almost new. Over the years, I have accumulated a whole collection by buying one or two pieces at a time. The other workout gear just doesn't measure up when you look at quality, design, durability, practicability etc.
I would recommend you try everything on and in different sizing to find the items that suit your body type. You would be surprised that even a change in a color band could make a difference in how something looks.
They never used to go on sale but I noticed in the past year they have been discounting certain items by $10 or $20 when they are changing stock and are trying to clear certain items out.
I use their clothing for working out, mountain/road biking, ultimate frisbee, soccer, flag football, beach volleyball, running, tennis, squash...so versatility is a plus in my book.
My favorite items are: the eagle bra, the Y tank, the energy run skirt, the dance studio jacket with hood, the sing/dance/floss jacket, the run speed shorts, the run inspire crop, and the fleeced lined winter running tights. -

When lulu lemon first came out, I thought the prices were outrageous and ridiculous. Now that I own a lot of their clothes, it is totally worth the price. Their product is well made and very comfortable. Great for workouts and yes yoga.
The customer service here are very good and very helpful. The only issue I have are the small men's section and there are almost never any sale priced items for men. There are so much for women. Yeah I'm a little jealous - not that I wish I was a woman or that there's anything wrong with that either. I'm gonna be quiet now. -

I like this place! It's larger than the store at Scarborough Town Centre and considerably more convenient for me to get to as well. Also, they let pets in. Sale rack at the back was well-stocked and not too badly picked over. Well worth the visit if you feel like splurging on quality, attractive activewear.

Review from Ayesha A.
Well, Lululemon is ridiculously pricey, I think we can all agree on that.
To be honest, I don't even know what possessed me to walk into the shop when I'm usually opposed to spending over $40 on pants, but I went in.
and I bought a pair of the most comfiest pants/capris I have ever worn and, if they didn't cost $100 a pop, I'd own the whole lot.
But this is of course a dangerous spot for us broke people and unlike most non-ridiculous-priced stores, this place has no "sales" section.
I was bombarded by pretty much each employee when I went in, and as I walked through, after one person spoke to me, the next person would and the next and it was a bit annoying.
But, they were nice and helpful once I was in the fitting room, and having worked in retail before I totally understand where they are coming from but still-it's annoying as heck.
This is the first Lulu I've ever been in, but I get the feeling they're all pretty alike.
Good location-a block east of Spadina right on Queen, so that's a plus.
I don't even use my $100 capris to work out because they were so expensive...they're for everyday use and I highly recommend breaking the bank for a pair...only one pair though, because otherwise you'll own a bunch of lululemons but not make your rent and well then you'd be screwed. -

At first I was a bit turned off from Lululemon simply because it is expensive and I coudn't justify throwing down that kind of cash on workout clothes. But when my cheaper workout gear kept crapping out on me I figured hey, you get what you pay for.
So ya, the shorts and tank set I got here are amazing, they are comfortable, flattering and low maintence, I can throw them in the dryer and they don't shrink! Bonus.
What I'm most impressed with though is Lululemon's bras. I am a bit more endowed in the chest area and since they're real I need something to hold them in. LLL has somehow managed to create athetic bras that are sooooo supportive but yet are still flattering and give the bust a lift. Seriously with this bra on I can jump on a trampoline and nothing bounces, jiggles, wiggles, pops or shakes. Now thats some fashionable functionality!!
The only drawback is that is seems everyone has jumped on the LLL boat. At my pole class at Flirty Girl there is always about 3 other girls there who have on my same LLL tank, although we had it in different colours. Its not that I can't understand why though as this place rocks! -

I'm taking this store down a star for failing to address the lack of availability of larger sizes in their store. I was in twice in the past month and again a lot of the largest sizes were '8'. I thought the philosophy of this store was that everyone can be active not just the super thin but I guess not! Given that size '12' is actually the size of the average Canadian woman this sales strategy seems really short sighted. I still like their pants though....if I can ever get a pair in my size :(

This store might seem expensive, but once you do the cost/wear analysis it usually end up paying off.
The staff here are for the most part super helpful and knowledgeable. I was totally impressed, albeit a titch surprised, to find that the woman who helped design the Ta-Ta Tamer bra was working on the floor the day I was there. (Side note, she managed to pull off wearing an amazingly-bright pink eye shadow).
While I've had good customer service at the outlet in the Eaton's Center I think I'll stick to going to this one.
Downside is that they don't carry all the same things as they do in the mall. -

Stupid loveable Lululemon :-(
I was entirely convinced that I was not the Lululemon type. I knew the clothes were pricey and had the idea that they were only worn by skinny blonde cheerleader types. You know, the popular and cool girls in school. So conformist.
Unfortunately for my bank balance, I was won over and developed a (probably) terminal case of Lulu love. The clothes are really cute and colourful. Yes, they would be much nicer on me if I ditched a significant amount of weight...but they're surprisingly flattering anyway. The materials are soft and comfy and they seem to wear well. The stuff is definitely pricey...but if it lasts it will be worth it because I feel good in it!
They have a great range of accessories etc in this branch too. I think I may be giving myself one of their lovely bags for my birthday and they also have bright hairbands, a huge range of yoga mats and handy things like non-slip towels.
The staff are really really smiley and friendly and manage to be convincingly so. It seems like they actually genuinely like their job and the product!
They have a Facebook page and a Twitter account with handy little tips...and information on the FREE classes they have a few times a week. It's a great way of doing some extra yoga and getting to have classes from teachers based in various studios. One class a week seems to be devoted to something different like bootcamp or Zumba too-varies month by month. in an ideal world I'd probably just live in this shop! -

A high...4 for this Lulu!
Since I live in the area this is my go-to Lululemon store. Even though I haven't actually purchased anything Lulu since they began outsourcing to China, I still like to go into the stores once in a while to get a bit inspired to workout or be physically active in some way. Hmm...I just realised now how weird that may be...
Anywho - I discovered that this location offers a plethora of free after-hours activities including yoga, Zumba, and apparently they do a boot-camp every Wednesday in August!
I attended the Zumba with Carmen from Flirty Girl this past Monday and it was amazing. The best part is that her class is usually $20 per and here you can attend as many and all of the sessions you like - all free of charge. The staff are super friendly and seem like they generally want you to attend everything - I'm happy to oblige!
So as I cannot speak on their actual products in this store, I can touch on their excellent in-store culture, friendly and helpful staff, and kick-butt butt-kicking-and-shape-whipping activities! (-1 * for being made in China now)

I will preface this review with the following: I'd like to focus mostly on their yoga classes, as it would seem that their clothing and service has been adequately covered in previous reviews.
But before I go on entirely, a few quick notes:
- their clothing and accessories ARE fantastic. I once scoffed at those who'd pay $100 for "comfy pants" but now own 3 different pairs of long pants and 2 pairs of capris. Actually, when not in scrubs, I LIVE in the pants. My favourite t-shirt comes from Lulu and I often have "bra free" days where my lulu tanks are the first go-to. I rarely wear the gear to work out (with exception of the groove shorts, which I share between everyday and running wear); I work out pre-showering, and don't want to ruin my expensive gym stuff with stinkiness (that said, so much of their gear is now threaded with "stink free" fibers, I wonder if it would be worthwhile to check it out). But I do often wear lulus for yoga, and have never had clothing issues with range of motion.
- The staff at all stores, but this store especially, are lovely. Always very helpful, quite happy to chat (even on a busy Saturday!!), and very upbeat. The best time to go is during the week, though; they're much more able to help you out finding whatever you need, be it a yoga towel or mat to stop you from slipping away in down dog, a carry-all work bag, or great pair of socks.
One other element that inspires love for lulu in me is their "extras": the yoga classes at this store are Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings, and they also have a run club that runs on (I believe) Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. I've never been to the run club, and so can't comment on it, but I have been to both the Tuesday in-store and Sunday in-the-park (seriously!!!!!) yoga classes where you'll get a free (FREE!!!!) hour long class taught by rotating instructors from studios around the city. Be warned, as has been my experience with in-store classes at all stores, the classes are PACKED, especially on Tuesday evenings (I've almost taken out an entire rack of tank tops before) but are somehow still calming and energizing. This summer, the Queen store decided to try something new with their Sunday morning class by moving it from the store into Stanley Park. Ah-MAZING. I've thus far been to only 2 classes: one was with a lovely instructor who took us through laughing yoga and a more calming practice and one with Ginger (weee!) from Tula. Both were so different but so wonderful at the same time. If you'll allow me to wax poetic/hippie for just a moment, there's something very honest and earthy about doing yoga in the middle of nature. The class also inspires some regulars; I recognized some folks I'd seen the week previous and there was a familiar and friendly acknowledgement, which (sadly) doesn't happen too often in Toronto. Also, even though it's only "supposed" to be an hour, I don't think I've gone when it's actually ended on time. I like that when there's no store opening to contend with, there's more flexibility and you can get a great (FREE!!! Really FREE!!) class for as long as you need. That said, 10am on a Sunday can be HARD. I missed last week's class due to my Saturday evening "events".
So, in summation:
- I love Lululemon. I love Lululemon QUEEN St. The merchandise is exceptionally made and the service is wonderful. They actually aspire to be more than a clothing store by offering these "extras"
- FREE yoga makes everything that much greater. And free yoga outside? Wow. I may be in heaven.
- My only points off? Packed in store classes and the early-morning of the Sunday classes. So show up early to make sure your spot isn't directly between the zippy hoodies and a rack of running tops and, when you're not in the mood for a big Saturday night, make the "I have yoga in the morning" excuse and make it an early night. You won't regret it this summer. -

Free yoga was FAB-U-LOUS last night!
It's too bad I don't even know the new volunteer yoga instructor's name. Once again, you will find me being one with the mat at this Lululemon on Tuesday evenings at 8pm.
Hopefully this newbie instructor will volunteer longer than the usual one month duration. But I won't mind as long as her replacement is better than her!3 Previous Reviews: Show all »

I started buying stuff at lululemon when they were in a little store on Queen Street West near Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto. I'm still wearing the stuff that I bought then. It's held up nicely!
I like the community board where you can find out about yoga and fitness studios and wish I had time to go to the free yoga class in the store -- sounds interesting.
The sales staff are very helpful. They helped me to choose the right pants size. On my latest purchase, I found out that I was buying a size too big before. Do yourself a favour and let them fit you!
My thinking is that if I like my workout wear, I may work out more. -

OBSESSED! I am obsessed, I friggin' love lululemon. When I moved to Boston they had none, until I went to a fancy mall and found one accidently, I nearly fell into convulsions. Then, they built another one near my house, and it was cheaper than the Canadian one.
Anyways, back to the topic, lululemon is ridiculously overpriced, and nothing makes you look as hot as lululemon during a work out. The stuff is amazing quality and lasts forever. I love being back in Toronto because it is acceptable to wear the stuff at home, around town, for a run, and even out for a night.
Two tips - 1. wash lululemon stuff separately, without fabric softener. It'll thank you for it, I have multiple items that are about 4 years old and they look good as new. 2. All the sale stuff goes to Vaughn Mills, and believe me, it's worth the trip. I went once and got great stuff.
I think we are building a society that can rely solely on lululemon, and I am a happy (but broke) participant of the movement. If I could eat it, I would. (Does this mean I'm going to be on What Not To Wear? Too much spandex?) -
Review from Kat T.
Lululemon started in Canada with designers and production all in Canada on the West coast. However, they have now moved manufacturing to China- :( The cost, of course has not gone down as much as labor costs have gone down. But, nonetheless the design components are outstanding. Hair-ties attached to the zippers!! Pockets in all the right places. Reflective areas, warm-weather clothes, cold-weather clothes whatever you need- they've got it! The Groove Pants still are the best in the world at making everyone's Ass look good, too. There are stores worldwide now, a proud Canadian product.
