I walked hella far yesterday to come here. Spent $42 bucks. Love this place. I have never been to this location since I am always downtown. More seating and a nice bathroom at this one.

Lukes is like a 1 night stand. You leave satisifed with a smile but feel hella guilty......$42 hot damm.

While visiting a friend up in Spanish Harlem, we were trying to figure out a good place to eat. Both being fans of seafood, we happened upon this place (on Yelp, of course) and decided to check it out. It's like a little slice of Maine in the middle of Manhattan. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a New England eatery. Much of my family is from New England, so it felt very familiar and welcoming. The cashier was helpful and friendly.

I had a lobster roll and a Maine Root Beer (one of my favorite root beers) and my friend had a crab roll and a beer. While the prices seemed a bit steep, it's not unusual to pay a little more for a good lobster roll. The meal was absolutely delicious. My only complaint was that the roll was a bit small and didn't quite fill me up as I had hoped it would.

All in all, I loved this place and am eager to try out the other locations in the city.

Pricey! was my initial reaction. But my roll filled with lobster. I was assuming that it would be filled with mayonnaise and barely any lobster but I was wrong. Definitely worth the price after I saw it. Nom nom! One wasn't enough, so I ate one and a half. And the bread was soft too.

Oh they also have a stamp card!

They keep the food simple.  Their lobster roll is made with a well buttered toast filled with large, whole pieces and lightly seasoned--not a lot of mayo and not too much other additives.  Their soups were good but probably not worth the $7/cup.  Staff at this place are quite friendly.  Biggest positive about this place is the space--you actually have some vs the E. 7th st location.

Good food but as you might have guessed, pricey.  I wouldn't be a regular.  I think i have had better in the city but then again i like a bit more sauce and additives to mine.

This is how you do lobster rolls!  Today is day two of our three day food tour through NYC - we hiked about 20 mins and took two subway lines to try out Luke's and we were not disappointed.  Luke's serves up the perfect combo of succulent (but cold) lobster meat with mayo and "special seasoning" (I think it was just cayanne, pepper, and salt), and butter grilled bread - worth every penny.  The shrimp corn chowder was pretty good too (but lite on the shrimp) as was the limited but interesting selection of beers.  The restaurant itself is small and a bit underwhelming - the decor makes it feel like a gimmicky chain restaurant a la Red Lobster but I'll let that slide for the tasty goodness to follow.  Definitely worth a return visit soon!

I got the taste of maine. That consisted of half lobster roll, half crab roll, & half shrimp roll, chips, pickle, & beverage. It was ok nothing great. Enough for one person, unless your snacking. The soups looked really good, the people next to me said they were. My personal opinion the lobster rolls made out of one of those trucks tasted a lot better.

I was hesitant when my Val pal suggested lobster for lunch. Knowing the closest water was the deliciously clean Hudson I got nervous with the idea. But since Im going back to work at the hospital anyway I figured I'll always have that backup.

When we walked into the adorable little joint I was in love. I felt like i had stumbled upon martha's vineyard in the middle of nyc. There were lobster crates hanging from the wall and faded wooden tables. I got root beer in a glass bottle (amazing), kettle chips and a lobster roll.  The lobster roll was AMAZING and made me wish I was overlooking the ocean with a corona in hand.

So freaking good! Rolls are packed with lobster. Lobster has the slightest bit of mayo and seasoning, nothing else. Little bit of melted butter on the roll. Perfect. Good beers to wash it down. Crab and shrimp rolls are just as good, if not even better. Not cheap, but plenty of "lobster bang" for your bucks!

Yep, they serve a delicious lobster roll here.  Cold crustacean + hot bun + warm butter + swipe of mayo and dash of seasoning.  Standard rolls, only the seafood is plentiful and you can distinguish the huge chunks of lobster and crab meat as opposed to places where you get essence of lobster.

we got the 1/2 crab, 1/2 lobster, 1/2 shrimp option, and they were sadly out of claws so they took $2 off the price.  (i dont want to nickel and dime here, but if 4 claws as a side cost $6, shouldn't they have taken $3 off the price?...ok ok, i won't complain).  i was a little disappointed in the portion of sandwich at first, though.  I thought 2 of us would be able to make a lunch out of it, but we really should've gone for the noah's ark.  we immediately ordered a second.  Sadly, we would've saved money had we ordered the noah's ark originally.  Too bad the fellow behind the counter didn't point out the portion size of our order wouldn't be enough to feed two hungry patrons.  But I can't completely fault him, since maybe he thought we'd already eaten something else before coming.  oh well.

if you're craving a lobster roll, come here.  you don't get a hotdog bun and an overpowering of mayo.  you get some legit lobster flavored just enough to not overshadow the main event.

This joint is really smalI...only about room for 4-6 people to eat inside.
I asked for some water and they gave me some straight from the tap!  Bottle water was only a buck so I got that. My bf and I shared the lobster roll combo and clam chowder.  Chowder was good but nothing to write home about. The lobster roll had the hugest chunks of lobster I have seen in any lobster roll, the meat was served cold and seasoned in a warm bun. Next time, I'm going to order my own! Mmmmmm so delish!

The seafood was fresh and the service was quick and friendly, this place is a no frills but delicious eats type of joint....this food here is the type you get cravings for out of the blue and need a fix!!!

I would have preferred my rolls be drenched in a garlic, lemon and butter sauce....felt the rolls were too "health conscious"!!! lol

Def a good stop to hit up when your a bit tips and need some good eats!!!

How were we soooo disappointed? And this is the 3rd time I've been here!

Two words that truly ruin it for me evvvverytime: CUSTOMER SERVICE

"Hey, we'd like to spend $40 and purchase the Noah's Ark please?"

Whether we spend $4 or $40, I expect the same service every time, anywhere. Working in the service industry taught me how important this is, and it shocks me how many restaurants/eats in Manhattan forget about this.

The Noah's Ark is awesome; 6 mini sandwiches, 4 giant crab claws, chips and drinks. Perfect for two, thus the reason my boyfriend and I ordered it. Unfortunately they were out of crab claws, so we had some crab bisque instead. It was bad, like really bad, so I kindly requested it to be traded for clam chowder.

"I'm sorry but we can't give refunds after it's been eaten."

"But I didn't eat it. We tried it yes, and it was bad." I wasn't about to point out how it was obviously still full.

"Sorry but we can't give a refund."

I wasn't sure if she misunderstood me when I asked to TRADE MY CRAB BISQUE FOR CLAM CHOWDER, but either way....if your food is bad you should always replace it.

Not only was this lobster roll the lobster roll that put me back on lobster rolls, but the staff is amazingly nice and awesome and accommodating as well. This lobster roll was better than the one I had in Martha's Vineyard a few summers ago, which was from THE place to get lobster rolls (apparently). Well done Sers, well done indeed.

Stopped in Luke's Lobster during a Saturday afternoon happy hour crawl with friends. Yes I was certainly a little tipsy. But that doesn't negate the fact that Luke's is definitely a must have. I tried the lobster roll and the shrimp roll. Both were tasty. The lobster roll was something to be remembered for sure. Both sandwiches had plenty of meat and were reasonably priced. Unfortunately, they were out of the crab claws so I wasn't able to try.

Next time I'm on the East Side, Ill definitely stop by.

My aunt and I had walked the dogs a mile to the dog park, played with them there for a couple hours, and then walked back a mile, so we were pretty hungry when we ordered delivery from Luke's.

Delivery was fast, pricing was reasonable, and the menu was small enough that in our hungry state we could make a decision fast.

Coming from MA, I know a good lobster roll when I see one. And this place has them. We ordered the Noah's Ark, which was a dinner for two - two half sandwiches each of the lobster roll, the shrimp roll, and the crab roll, plus a bag of chips and a soda each.

My first thought upon opening the box with the sandwiches was "OMG they're so cute." I even took a picture. My aunt & I had a strategy - starting with the crab, saving the best for last with the lobster. The crab sandwich was *really* good. The shrimp sandwich was kind of bland. The sandwiches were seasoned and had a bit of light mayo on them, which worked well for the crab, but wasn't enough for the shrimp. The lobster, however, was fantastic. The mayo didn't overwhelm the lobster. Oh, the rolls...heavenly. Perfectly toasted.

One of the highlights, though, was the root beer. It was some fancy brand and I loved it. I love root beer so much.

We will definitely order from this place again.

    I used to love Luke's.
It was a quick and tasty.

Unfortunately, I've recently noticed that with every visit, the lobster rolls (my go-to) become progressively smaller and smaller. The size of the bun remains, along with the price tag. However, the amount of meat has clearly declined over the years. Maybe this is pure luck in terms of my timing or maybe the particular UES location I've been frequenting.
Sadly enough, as the size of the portions continues to decrease, so will my patronage. I don't need super sized portions - just give me some meat!

Come on Luke, don't be stingy, spread the love!!

I love Luke's Lobster.   I've only ever had the Lobster Roll special which includes a drink and a bag of chips.   It makes for a good quick lunch that is a step above a normal sandwich.

I am very interested in trying one of their other offerings and will probably attempt one of their samplers in the near future.  The lobster roll is just so damn good however it's hard to try anything else.

I used to go to Maine every summer with my family, and of course these summer trips always included at least one lobster roll. I haven't been for a while. Lately I had been having a craving for lobster rolls due to the warm weather, which brought me to this place. The interior of Luke's  Lobster is kitschy but in an endearing way with lobster crates hanging on the walls, a chalkboard menu and tall counters plain counters giving it a shack kind of feel. The service is long enough that you know that they are actually making your sandwich, but short enough that you aren't grouchy by the time they call you. I ordered the lobster roll, which consists of a split top bun toasted and buttered on the outside filled with huge chunks of fresh lobster meat. What I loved about the bun was that since the outside was toasted it was nice and crispy, as well as buttery. The lobster portions were generous while the lobster meat itself was sweet and tender, definitely fresh. I loved the seasonings that they used for the lobster, as it added just the right amount of kick while still allowing the true flavors of the lobster to shine through. I also liked how the lobster meat was not all chopped up, because it really allows you to enjoy the lobster for how it is: texture, flavor, and all. The textural contrast between the griddled bun and the softer lobster was also great.  This may sound crazy but I would've liked a bit more mayonaise in the lobster roll. I know right blasphemy. I must have not taste for seafood. I know, I know. A girl can't help what she likes though.

I love this place. The seafood (lobster, crab, shrimp) is fresh, nicely chilled, not drenched in mayonnaise, and perfectly seasoned (with a light pepper concoction). All served on a nicely toasted, buttered bread - light and chewy. The lobster is my favorite, but really, it's all good.

Luke's is a cute little restaurant w/ pretty good lobster rolls.

I will give them major points for having sriracha hot sauce at every corner! I'm just glad I don't have to bring mine from home (not kidding). Service there is pretty lacking, every time I've bought a combo I feel like I need to remind them that I need to grab my drink and chips. However, the restaurant is very fittingly decorated and pretty clean.

Bf: "Have you ever had a Lobster roll?"
Me: "You mean like at a Japanese restaurant? Very microscopic pieces of lobster on top of a California roll slathered with sauce?"
    Bf: "Nooooo...."

After spending the day at the Met and with dinner plans much later at night, we stopped by Luke's to try their lobster roll as an appetizer to ease our grumbly stomach. The place itself is very nicely decorated in appropriate sailor-ish theme with maybe 10-15 seats? We tried the "Taste of Maine" ($21?) - half a lobster roll, half a shrimp roll and half a crab roll + 2 Jonah crab claws + 1 bag of Vickie's chips + 1 bottle of Maine soda. Sounds like tons of food, right??? Let's just say: good thing we have dinner plans after because you can probably finish each half roll in 2 bites! The lobster roll was definitely the standout - huge chunks of lobster...I would just get a full lobster roll and not get the other two (shrimp roll was the weakest -  pretty bland in flavor).

You can mooch off the free wifi from Starbucks next store sitting inside Luke's :)

NY return factor: if you are paying :) Delicious, but I can't justify spending $15 on a lobster roll no matter how appetizing it is.

    AHHHHH SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!

Before I came here, I thought lobster rolls were a type of sushi. Boy am I happy to know there is another kind!

The bread was toasted and buttery and the lobster was high quality and plentiful. It's a pretty good deal too! You can get a soda, chips, and pickle with your roll for only $17. However, I found that 1.5 rolls is the best for a full meal if you're pretty hungry. And don't forget to put on extra "secret spice".   ;)

Oh and their ginger ale is "spicy" which is how I like it. Perfect touch.

The staff is extremely nice, helpful, and friendly.

Definitely will be coming back and filling up my lobster roll card! (10th one free!!!!!!)

I went with a friend one night because he had a gift certificate. I never tried lobster rolls at all so this was a first experience. We got there around 6:30P on a Saturday night.

The restaurant, while pretty small (but probably decent spaced in an area such as the UES where I'm sure the rent is probably an arm and a leg), it was rather quaint and quiet. The menu is quite small and we ended up ordering the Noah's Ark.

The person who took our order was extremely helpful and nice. For the Noah's Ark, we got soda and a bag of chips included with the seafood meal. They have a selection of soda from Maine, as well as beer ($3 extra if you order the Noah's Ark). What I loved about the soda selection was that they had Root Beer, Creme Soda, AND Sarsaparilla. For those who has never tasted the latter, Sarsaparilla is like root beer, but not quite as sugary.

The chips, are a brand called "Miss Vickie's." I never tried them before and if you're a chips lover, this is one brand you should definitely try. The jalapeno chips are to die for! It's a damn shame that there are no retailers that carry it at all. And the small bags that they have, they charge you $1 individually for. It's not a bad price I suppose since they're not available elsewhere, but yeah... much more worth it when you're getting it in addition to a meal.

I don't know about my friend, but I had to fight from finishing the rolls in two bites, they were that small. The rolls had to be about 4" long. The lobster roll tasted a bit plain, even with their specially prepared roll. The lobster meat was alright, I prefer the crab rolls a lot more for they had a more richer flavor to it. The crab meat was a lot more sweeter as well. The shrimp roll, if you like cold, tiny pieces of shrimp it may be just right up your alley.

What I really recommend though, besides the crab rolls, would be the Jonah crab claws. Those things are ginormous compared to the crab claws you get when you buy a pound for $10 at an Asian market. While the claw is cold, the meat was crisp, fresh, sweet, and full of flavor. Definitely a must eat at this restaurant.

I ordered the crab bisque to go but wasn't so wowed by it. It was way too fishy. After eating the crab in the restaurant, I was expecting a more subtle flavoring.

For the portion and the prices, it's a little bit pricey (but I suppose the norm in the UES) to me. I wish the portions were a tad bigger. I would definitely come back here again though.

Oh, by the way: there is a bathroom, it's that tiny little door you see when you come into the restaurant. If you didn't ask, you wouldn't know there was one. It's really clean though.

Since I live in the UES, I constantly find myself aimlessly wandering around on the weekends. As this is sometimes a solo mission, I'm always on the search for a new place to try where I won't awkwardly have to say, "table for one?". Cue: Luke's Lobster. I decided to go based upon all the great Yelp reviews & it was well worth the visit!

Being ambitious (and indecisive), I opted for the Taste of Maine, which includes a half portion of each roll, a soda & two crab claws. Unfortunately, they ran out of crab claws, perhaps giving me an excuse to return? It was pricey for a casual lunch (slightly over $20), but I'd consider it more of an infrequent treat than an everyday stop. You do get a nice-sized portion of lobster, crab & shrimp on their own respective buttery rolls, so in that sense it's a decent value. I will admit that a squeeze of lemon and drizzle of Sriracha make a world of difference. As for the ambiance, there are a few tables to sit at, as well as some bar stools (thus perfectly fitting my criteria for not being an awkward place to dine alone). I went on a Sunday around 11:30am and it wasn't too crowded. Overall, worth the visit if you enjoy seafood & are looking for something casual.

I can't bring myself to give this place any more than 3 stars. The lobster roll was pretty small. It could be eaten in 4 bites. Three bites if you have a big mouth like I do. The lobster tasted plain and the bulk of the flavored came from the grilled bread roll and the healthy drowning of butter on top. They ran out of the clam chowder the night we went. It was only 6pm and they ran out of clam chowder. Oh, the horror! So, I ended up getting the lobster bisque which was really good.

Apparently, other folks have had a better experience, but not me. Maybe next time?

I mean... what can I say that everybody doesn't already know about Luke's?
I've been here on multiple occasions after a FULL MEAL and still, it tasted delicious.

The lobster chunks are large and buttery. But it's not an overpowering amount of butter. It's just enough richness to make you stop after your first bite and think, "damn... that is good."

I live for these lobster rolls. If I could eat one every single day I would. Buttery roll, creamy lobster pieces, not overly seasoned but perfection. These rolls are famous for a reason!  The first time I went to Luke's, I purchased the sampler - never again. The lobster is the BEST.

Quaint little shop, tables could be arranged a bit better. Somewhat welcoming staff but could be better. It's pricey, but lobster is pricey - so I guess it's understandable.

    Yes, believe the hype!

I am absolutely smitten by this fresh lobster-licious joint! As a long time lover of seafood, I had high expectations for Luke's. I try not to hold predisposed judgements before trying a new place but I couldn't help it. Regardless, Luke's went above and beyond my expectations.

As stated in my review for Boka, I don't live in NY - I come from California, and when I visit NY, I try to visit restaurants only once during my trips. Yes, even the good restaurants, just so that I can cross places off of my long, long list of bookmarks. BUT! I came to Luke's twice, and wouldn't have minded coming for one or two more times for the lobster and crab. Yes, you butta-believe it - the seafood is fresh to death here.

For my first time at LL, I ordered the Noah's Ark, which equaled two half-sized rolls of each (lobster, crab, shrimp), four Jonah crab claws, two bags of kettle chips, and two bottles of soda... all for me and my boyf. The three half-sized rolls for me looked small at first, but by the end of my meal, I felt so overwhelmed. In a good way, of course, but damn it was a lot! So, naturally the second time I visited, I ordered just the full roll of lobster. MAN, I love Luke's. They don't skimp out on the seafood, and it tastes so dang fresh, like they-just-brought-it-out-from-their-backyard fresh! Seafood is kept simple, while bread is toasted and buttered to perfection.

THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY YOUR ROLL (after having one bite of the sandwich as is) is to squeeze lemon over your lobster/crab and then dab a little bit of sriracha with each bite. I don't normally put sriracha on anything (I actually hardly EVER do), but after discovering this fan-freaking-tastic combo after keenly observing a local ingest the same said combo with glee, I'd put that sh*t on everything! Well, at least all over these rolls anyway. SO good, trust me!

Clam chowder: very tasty, thick, homey, fresh, and lots of clam. Kind of pricey for the small cup - I'd rather put that money towards a roll. Also had another round of their crab claws the second time I went, for I think, $6 for four? Man those little suckers are yummy - expensive, but yummy indeed...

Luke's, I love you. I miss you, all the way from LA. xoxo

Really delicious, and absolutely worth the $$$. Service is great and so is the food. The clam chowder is great too. I would recommend getting the combo's. I didn't listen to the server, but I thought I wasn't hungry until I tried the rolls.

Yummy- there's always a wait, but it is so worth it. The setting is cute too, although more seating would be a plus.

Lobster rolls are fantastic, meaning big chunks of fresh tasting lobster.

Their lobster bisque (it was the daily special) was more a chowder instead of a bisque. Full of lobster chunks like a chowder, but the soup itself did not have lobster taste. I was hoping for a bisque and I was disappointed.

Went to a wine tasting in UES one early Friday evening.  After a good helping of wine, the troop was in search of food...

The search started with another establishment which had a 30 minutes wait, which was unacceptable since we were huuuungry.  That's when Luke's Lobster came to rescue.  The simple sandwich spot was ready to serve us good food fast!

This was my first visit to Luke's.  But I have heard good reviews on this place.  On top of it all, others in my entourage had frequented this joint before.  So, I was ready for all that Luke's had to offer.  But alas, despite all my mental preparation for awesome yumminess, Luke's still surpassed my expectations.

Ordered a Noah's Ark to share with a friend.  This is basically two order of "Taste of Maine".  Each order included 1/2 shrimp roll, 1/2 crab roll, 1/2 lobster roll, 2 crab claws, chips + drink for just $22.  (Noah's Ark is $41.)

From ordering to food being ready was no more than 5 minutes.  Now, that's what our hungry stomachs were looking for!

Then, we feasted!  Oh wow... the sweetness of the seafood meshed with the perfect butteriness of the bun.  Each roll was better than the last.  YUM!  They also had a variety of craft brew or Maine root soda, Miss Vickie's variety of chips to complement the rolls.

The establishment itself was simple.  Two big communal table and a bar along the window.  Seating is limited, but that should not be a reason for you to not to try the tasty yumminess within.  They even accept credit cards, so really no excuses.   If you live in the area, ask for the punch card to earn a free roll!

Their lobster roll and their clam chowder were both very good.

Liiiiiiiiittle pricey, though, especially for the amount that you get.

    Yo, dear Yelpers

I have been wanting to have a lobster roll that is as good as Boston's Neptune's for such a long time.

First trial, i went to try Fairway's Lobster roll... wow. DO NOT. DON't EVER do that.

Second trial, Luke's. Portion-wise, not as much, but taste SO GOOD.
Tried Lobster, Crab Rolls and Clam chowder... all of them are EXCELLENT.

So, one out of two? I will take it.

This is a place to be when you crave for simple but delicious meal.

    AWESOME.
