After many unsuccessful trials of hairdressers in Ottawa, I was extremely lucky to find Lucas Nault and his hair studio on Laurier Avenue. Lucas is a talented and laid back stylist. He has never disappointed me and has even exceeded my expectations from time to time. He reads his customers well and knows how and when to engage them in conversation. I haven't been a client of any of the other stylists, but my boyfriend has had his hair cut by two of them and he was always pleased with the results.

They usually cater to the younger crowd since their stylists generally specialize in funkier cuts and the studio is so close to Ottawa U. Considering the quality of their services, the prices are very reasonable (e.g., $35-$45 for a trim). They're also the only Ottawa salon that I know of that uses only organic products and strives to be as energy efficient as possible.

History

Established in 2005

Lucas is well-known for his magazine, television, runway, and high-profile client list. A hairstylist since age 12 (thanks to his mother, a retired hairstylist), Lucas loves everything from simple or extravagant hair cutting to complicated coloring.

Lucas is known best for his avant-garde competition work and his on-stage presence as a hair educator. His salon opening in 2005 was dedicated to his father. It has since broken barriers on the Ottawa beauty and fashion scene.
