I, personally, am not crafty. Not one bit. But I appreciate those who do have an artistic flair, which is why I love peaking into Love, Me to see what's there from our cool local artists.

I've gotten things like cool, quirky jewelry and awesome painted drinking glasses at the store, and every time I go I see a bunch of things I want.

And on top of that, you're supporting both local artists/crafters and a lovely local business owner. Everyone wins!

    I love art.

    I love all things local.

I love random finds that you think to yourself "huh, now that's pretty freaking cool".

When you bring all three things together, consider Tara a happy camper.

Every time I walk into Love, Me I am just that; A happy camper. Filled with so much awesomeness Chara should change the name too "This shop is amazing and you should just buy everything you can get your hands on"...okay maybe that's a little long.

    But you get the point.

A lot of the local artists that you see at the spring/winter crafts fair can be found year round at Love, Me. Wanted to pick up those super cool etched glasses with the robots on them but couldn't carry them back to the car? Check Love, Me. Really wanted that super sweet tea set with the mermaids on them but spent your last dollar on a few cool buttons? Check Love, Me. Wanted that kick ass green shirt with the T-Square screen printed on the front but just couldn't fit one more thing in your bag?...

Yep, you got it. Check Love Me.

In fact, why are you even reading this right now. Put everything down and just go. Tell Chara, Tara sent you and then give her a big ass high five for being so damn cool.

Everyone loves Love, Me. You be crazy not to. It's go so much great, unique stuff. It's simply irresistible.

Beyond all the fabulous gift ideas one can get while walking around in the shop, there are also lots of fun art pieces and trinkets that you'll want to take home for yourself. Not the kind of store you can easily walk out of empty-handed.

What a charming find in downtown Halifax!

I had read about Love, Me on Yelp a while back and finally remembered to go in on the weekend. Fell. In. Love.

The staff (owner?) was great - very friendly but gave me space in the store and very informative on all the pieces I was interested in.

What a find to have a local shop with so many diverse artists represented and reasonably priced! I got a fabulous birthday gift for a friends but I can't wait to go back and get baby-shower gifts and some gorgeous scarves and earrings for myself.

Yes there's construction out front and it obstructs the shop, but this is temporary folks. This awesome little shop deserves its props for great service, selection and local love!

One of my favourite stores downtown. Chara has created a hidden gem of a store on Birmingham St. It's a cozy, eclectic store full of handmade Canadian goodness. Go in expecting to spend, though- I have yet to go in without something catching my eye.

Such a great little shop.  Full of really pretty hip stuff made by artisans.  Love the idea of the store, but it is actually implemented well too!  Definitely check this out the next time you are shopping downtown.

I love this shop. I always find the most amazing and unique handmade items here. I love that I'm supporting both a local independent retailer as well as a Canadian (if not Haligonian) artist when I buy something here.

The space itself is perfect - there are nooks and crannies, but at the same time the shop is not crammed with "stuff". Service has always been excellent - friendly, helpful, and engaging. Overall, it's a pleasant place to spend some time to browse.

And the name and logo? Come on. Brilliant.

Let's look at the facts, shall we?

    1) Cool owner who knows a ton about art, handmade, and cool stuff? Check.

    2) All Canadian, all handmade or local wares from artists both across the country and down the street? Check.

    3) Basically every gift option you could want forever and ever amen? Check.

    4) A pink t-shirt featuring a raccoon drinking gin? Check.

I was made to love this shop even if its name was actually Ben Sucks And We Hate Him Boutique. Seriously. It wouldn't be enough to keep me away from the clocks made out of recovered books, the boxers with crossword puzzles printed on them, the pendents made out of old technology bits, or the sassy, handmade gift cards that offer nice sentiments with a healthy dose of sarcastic snark.

It's one-part art gallery, one-part easy shopping, all-parts super awesome.

First let me start with the positives, I love that this store promotes and sells local good and art. It's a small store, but clean and has a bright airy feel. It's a great spot to find a unique gift for that hard to buy for person.

However today I visited the store, and had some fairly negative customer service. My best friend had a groupon that was going to expire on the 10th. He works long hours and couldn't make it in during the week so he asked if I could get the print for him.

I asked the salesperson if she knew the print I was talking about, she pointed it out and I called my friend to confirm. When I presented the coupon, she got a little snippy saying that I obviously was not the owner of the coupon and she could  and should reject it. I completely understand the policy and if she would have said that and left it at that I would have been truly grateful.

However she kept going on and on about it and what a great favour she was doing for me and my friend, during the entire process of my transaction. It left a strong sour taste in my mouth, since I was also doing a favour and didn't wish to be harped on. She made me feel like I was trying to get one over on the store and the coupon company.
Its definitely made me hesitant to return.

If you start anywhere else when shopping Halifax for gifts for your loved ones, I surely do not know why.

This shop is an absolute gem, stuffed with handmade Canadian goodies from clothes to jewelry to toys to stationery to household goods.

From the glasses featuring traditional Halifax street-scapes to the one of a kind felted purses, you're certain to find something to covet as soon as you step through the door.

If you're shopping for kids, there are screen-printed onesies, handmade sock monkeys, bath products, stuffed animals, and so much more.

And oh, the jewelery. So nice I have to mention it twice.

The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, and if you're a regular visitor, they're likely to learn your name and your taste. They even offer a gift registry, if you think your loved ones could use a little help shopping for you...

Don't let all that temporary construction that's happening on Birmingham Street scare you away. If you venture beyond the scaffolding and the wire fences, just past Woozles, you'll find Love Me Boutique. I was in need of a birthday present for my sister (who is admittedly FAR trendier than I).  When I came in to the shop the owner was very friendly, but gave me some time to browse quietly by myself. The store is full of fabulous hand-made products from Canadian vendors. When I described my shopping mission and gave her my price range she was able to suggest several suitable options. When I decided on my purchase, she even gift-wrapped it for me. Great merchandise and great customer service give this one a 5/5.

Love, Me? I love you. This little shop is just a side street away from Spring Garden and remains a treasure to behold.

With a hosting of creative endeavors of the locally and Canadian made,  Love, Me Boutique exists as an original Halifax perch and a spot to support our own. In walking though its doors, shoppers may easily fall in love with its cool 'n crafty finds.

I was particularly drawn to the pottery selection. Off-kilter (yet functional) shaped mugs and dishes contained an undeniable artistry. Each piece was its own treasure! The leather bound journals were also a favourite. Not to mention the bitsy hand woven "Mug Mats"-- ka-yute! This shop is chalk full of fresh designs of accessories, clothes, and nic-nacks. Take a look for yourself. Its quirky, cool, artistic and a body of product to admire.

Love, Me Boutique can be found just a few steps away from Spring Garden, and boy is it worth those extra steps. The set up is like shopping in someones living room; cosy and relaxed.
The stock is updated fairly often and ranges from housewares, stationary, clothing, accessories and artwork, with the majority being locally, handmade. If you took the 'buy local' pledge this holiday season, I'm sure you'll be able to check a few people off your list when you see whats here.
Some items may be fun, or quirky, but nothing here is cheesy. Buying handmade has never been so high quality. I particularly enjoyed the ceramics display, which was both beautiful, and humorous.
Even if you're not in the buying mood, pop in to check out the ever-rotating art exhibits that fill the walls.

Brands you can find there include; Canadian clothing brand Dace, local scarf maker Pip Robins, local purse maker Shibang Designs, just to name a few.

Lots of neat local wares to be found at 'Love, Me.' Of particular note when I was in last week: mug cozy's, hand sewn coin purses, earrings made from repurposed leather as well as hardware as well as coat racks/paper wall organizers  made from fence pickets.

Friendly unobtrusive staff as well! Check this place out for an gifts you may be purchasing for the holidays! Neat tea pots too!

Love, Me Boutique is a real downtown gem. With local offerings and goodies from around Canada, this shop draws attention to all of the fantastic artistic talent we have within our own country.

The shop owner has a lovely presence, greeting you, creating chitchat, but also giving you space to take in all of the lovely treasures.

I adore all of the local felted products and am a big fan as well of the local printed glassware. I find the little key collage door side a delightful decorative touch, and feel compelled to create something every time I leave this boutique.

I implore you to visit this little shop. It is so uplifting to see an entire place dedicated to local Canadian talent, as well as sustainable creativity. This is a perfect spot to find a gift for someone you love!

Love Me Boutique is a pretty cool place to go for some handmade gifts. These are gifts that you will actually wear, and are Canadian made.

I have to say, I do not like a lot of the traditional tourist merchandise, like wearing different animals on your sweater etc. That has never appealed to me. Thank goodness you will not find that here.

The staff here is great and do not hassle you when you go in. This is a great store that I love to pop into when downtown.

What a great little shop. Stuffed with handmade art items - as the shop owner says "for wearing, living and giving" this is a great place to find something unique. But this is no kitschy craft shop - everything here is really original and artful. The shop has a very "indie" feel and the items appeal to a savvy urban crowd.  Great clothes, housewares, decorations.  Expect lots of "oh, you have to see this!" if you go with a friend.

I do love you and everything I've ever bought of Love Me which retails local artists such as Deux FM eco clothes. The stuff is unique and makes great gifts, especially if you are giving them to yourself. Clothes, jewelry, household accessories and lots of arts and crafts. Worth stepping off the main drag for.

Yay for supporting local and independent artisans! Love, Me is a super cute little shop that I don't go to very often because I know I'll just want to buy everything. These guys get bonus points from me for carrying a line of clothing made by my friend in Vancouver (We3, by the owners of Twigg&Hottie boutique, check it out!) Clothes are in the back, but the rest of the store is filled with jewelry, stationary, dishes and tea towels for the kitchen, and all sorts of other little items. Nothing here is dirt cheap, but prices seem really reasonable.

Love, Me is an ideal place to go hunting for unique gifts and one of a kind pieces for your wardrobe. And if you're a fan of the Halifax Craft Fairs you'll be pleased to know that you can find work by many of the same artists here at Love, Me, year-round.

This place is fabulous.  We did most of our Christmas shopping here and all of our gifts were loved!  The owner is really great to chat with.  Its so nice to see a local store support local artists.  Everything can be found here from clothes, accessories, and home decor to dishes, stationary, and odds and ends.  We will definitely be returning!
