I found the macarons here are A-OK! Especially they are sizable and cost only $1.80.
Green Tea/Lavender/Salted Carmel/Pistachio all has this crusty outershell and great filling. Not overly sweet.
Good option if Ruelo is closed next door, at least Louis XIV has opening hour posted!
The choice of pastry was lacking though..maybe it was a Monday night? Most of the pastries are $4.25 each, maybe I would try some next time!
Special thanks to my friend for giving me the gift certificate.
I still could not get over why Louis XIV uses this ugly brown bag to put their macarons in? -

I went here because the Ruelo Bakery wasn't open yet.
It was my birthday so I bought a chocolate/white chocolate mini cake which was so creamy and delicious.
I also bought 2 macarons (I thought you had to go to NYC to get them).
The lavender-so divine! I haven't tried the raspberry chocolate yet...but it will be gone before midnight ;)
btw only accepts cash, no debit -

I came here strictly for macarons because Ruelo had not opened its doors yet, so I don't really have much to say for the rest of their baked treats. The macarons were poorly crafted and weakly refined in flavour. I ordered the pistachio, lychee rose, and black sesame. The pistachio was bland and the lychee didn't really taste like lychee. They were also a tad too big for a typical-sized macaron, but if you're looking for more bang for your buck then Louis XIV Macarons would be viable option. I can't remember how much it all cost but I believe they ran from $2-2.50 per (??). Despite the disappointment with the french pastry, the service was friendly and the place looked clean.
Word of advice, AVOID the black sesame macaron if you have somewhere to be immediately after eating them. My lips, teeth and especially tongue turned BLACK after consuming the tiny black treat. I was on my break during work!!! -

I went for macarons only! Cakes and other goodies looked good, but I didn't try them. Service was friendly.
Sadly, the macarons are VERY artificial tasting. Pistachio had no signs of real pistachios, and tasted the most fake. Raspberry Rose Lychee was too sweet, and Salted Caramel tasted burnt! Not like toffee burnt, like really burnt in a bad way. I wouldn't get the macarons again, but I would definitely go back for other stuff. Saw some tables having English High Tea, and it looked yummy!Listed in: Macaron Mania in Toronto & GTA

The first time I tried their cakes was from my friend's birthday party. I started to fall in love with their cakes. They are so yummy, with creamy filling, and I especially love the chocolate cake, it's really really rich!!
They have some nice cookies with nuts ,and tastes really good. They also have very cute sugar cookies with colorful icing on top. They look so attractive and the kids will never say no to them.
Their macaroons taste very good too, my daughter adores them!!
They also have some mini cakes (look like lollipops) with very cute designs and I really had a hard time to choose what I like. They have lots of choices!!
The service is superb!! They will give you suggestions of what cake to buy for different occasions and people. The decoration of the cakes are very modern with different kinds of style.
Love this place, and I always hope that they can extend their opening hours! -

A tiny little shop in a typical "Chinese" strip mall in typical Richmond Hill / Markham "Hwy 7 territory"......but they do NOT serve typical HK/Asian style baked goods, they are FAR better.
The owner / chef studied her craft in Paris. She makes French style cakes and cookies including macaroons.
I got a what I call "the chocolate dome cake" - dark moist chocolate cake layered with raspberry puree and marscarpone creamed coffee mouse, all covered in a thin layer of the shiniest and most perfect chocolate ganache, and cute little meringue wheels on the side to finish off the decoration --- soooo sinfully rich and incredibly light tasting at the same time, one could be easily be "tricked" into having the whole cake. -

Delicious cakes and treats. Everything we've tried is great.
We ordered a custom cake for a very special event and were overwhelmed with the end result.
Highly recommend them for any custom cake order! -

The customer service from the owner of this place is awful. She is very blunt and incredibly condescending. Her husband has better customer service skills. Cakes are edible. Decor is nice. Prices seem high.
