Lot 30 simply blew us away. The decor, the staff, the location (and, of course, the food!) were all just so perfect.

Since there's really nothing on the menu for a non-dairy veggie like me, I simply asked our server if there was anything they could do. With a smile that seemed perfectly genuine, she said, "Of course!" I wasn't to be told what, precisely, I would be getting, but she assured me it would meet my needs.

A few minutes later, our food arrived. Covering an enormous plate were several incredible small servings of pure deliciousness. I couldn't have been happier.

Everything about Lot 30 is a dream. It really doesn't get any better than this.

This is regarded as the best restaurant in PEI and considered a must stop for foodie. I thought is was very good, but not a destination restaurant.  If you're in PEI, it's a must visit, but I wouldn't come here just for Lot 30.  Lobster, Mussels, Cioppino and Scallop were all good.  They treat their seafood well.  Not to mention, the PEI potatoes are actually really good, hard to describe, but you should try them.

Great space.  Very modern, but warm.  Restaurant Taste in Plymouth CA should model itself on this space.  Good tableware and materials throughout the restaurant.

The rolls to nibble were excellent.  Also came in a great long, carved wood boat.

Began with a brie and poached pear salad.  It was very good, very lightly dressed.  It would have benefited from from the addition of some nuts, but was otherwise excellent.

Entrees were the chicken and BBQ ribs in a chipotle glaze.  The meats were dry!  The glaze was too sweet.    The other was scallops, which were very well done and fresh.  The famous PEI new potatoes that came with it were BORING.  The spinach was OK.  Overall, hit or miss.

I would go again because of the potential and the great space and friendly crowd.

One of the best meals of my life.

As a vegetarian who appreciates good meals, I sometimes find travelling hard --especially places where fishing is an industry. I have grown tired of that question "But do you eat fish?" No. No, I don't. I also don't care if you do. I just want a good meal of non-meat things for myself. I've been saying for years I'd be happy with a meal made of the sides of the meat dishes, but instead I'm usually stuck with a salad (because I don't like mushroom burgers either).

So I was delighted when we walked into Lot 30 and the waiter told us the vegetarian main was made up of the side dishes for the meat mains. And then I blown away when I actually dug into the meal -- some of the finest dining I've ever had. Hell, it was the equivalent of Lumiere or West in Vancouver, where I normally have fancy veggie meals. (But a lot more affordable!) No point getting in to what I had -- I imagine it changes weekly, according to local ingredients. But this is truly fine dining for all, meat eaters and vegetarians.

And the dessert -- my god, the chocolate and peanut butter mousse with espresso sauce, banana foam and vanilla ice cream was like birthday sex.

As an added treat, there's a monitor over the bar that shows the chefs preparing your food in the kitchen -- it looks down over their workspace. It's kind of fun to watch your meal being prepared.

Very good restaurant. Don't miss it if you visit this city. I had maple braised pork belly which was really good. Don't miss the dark chocolate mouse :-) the dessert was awesome that I had to order two desserts and the second one was custard lemon.

Went to Lot 30 while vacationing on PEI. It's different from other Charlottetown restaurants, more like you're in NYC. The interior is very modern. We were sitted at the booth. We made reservations for early and were surprised that very soon the restaurant was full.
My son ordered PEI raw oysters and my husband fried ones, both were superb. We are oyster people now. PEI oysters are a little on a smaller side and very tender with a nice brine. Yam.
Main dishes we had a haddock and a halibat dinner with young potatoes and chanterelle(mushrooms), fish was superbly grilled, unbeleivable.
The menu wasn't very extensive, and shef offers other dishes for people with food allergies as i understand. You can also see him prepare dishes in front of your eyes on a flat screen TV at the bar.
We had a great time and great service. Definitely visit when on a beautiful PEI. We miss it already.
P.S. Though life is twindling down during the winter months, at LOT 30 they said they have a local clientelle all year long.

This is unbelievable! Do not stay in Charlottetown without coming here...contemporary and gorgeous with food to match! The decor is amazing and the customer service is above par- just what you would expect from PEI. Ask Mike about the 5 course tasting menu and definitely try the scallops with pistachios! You will thank me!

Lot 30 serves some really great food, particularly the curried almond gratin scallops.  The dining room is nicely casual-modern, and the staff are very friendly.  The only drawback (admittedly based on only one dinner experience) is that service was quite slow.  Our server definitely seemed very busy, as he was running back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room the entire time, but the restaurant might want to rethink the work distribution.
