They know art and art supplies!
Loomis & Toles is a great store with a very wide variety of paints, paper, pens, pencils, books, stencils, easel's and much much more. The customer service is pretty good but I have a sneaking suspicion that from time to time they hire people who aren't that knowledgeable about Arts and Crafts. This is one of those stores where the learning curve would be pretty steep if you don't know anything about the Art supply world. But generally I can always find a customer service person who knows a lot about the product or can direct me to someone who does.
The store is located in downtown Halifax which is convenient. It really is one of the few art supply stores in Halifax with the widest variety so they get a lot of consistent business. I almost bought an easel from them at one point in time. But their prices were a bit high and I found one for cheaper elsewhere. This is the reason there aren't five stars in the rating. Their prices could be a bit lower on quite a few items. But no matter what, you do get good quality arts and crafts items here.
Loomis & Toles is a great store! Their staff are generally good to work with, the prices can be fair, but their selection is amazing! If you ever wanted to start learning how to paint or do any other arts and crafty things, this is where you start. If you are an expert, you will find what you need here.
