I don't live particularly close to this Longo's but I do make a point of visiting every time I'm in the vicinity.
First of all the store is huge and offer a great variety of almost anything you make be looking for (though they don't carry matches!!). Second the produce and meats are consistently fresh and everything seems to be appropriately stocked (I.e. store obvs has good management).
Finally, I actually like the options at the food counter here! The stuffed pizza is recommended! -

I audit grocery stores as my side job and I have to say that this Longo's definitely sticks out whilst doing my audits. They have lots of clerks working and constantly shelving and lining up products and they are really helpful and leave their aisle when the have to assist customers find stuff.
I am especially impressed with the variety of health foods they have at this Longo's. Their fruits and vegetable section is amazing, they have the organic versions of practically everything, they have everything, even the rare stuff like fiddle sticks, orkas, white asparagus and yellow tomatoes. I went just a few days ago (beginning of summer) and none of the other grocery stores have this stuff out right now. It all looks fresh too.
I also saw a huge variety of ice cream products including a handful of soya milk ice cream products. I am also impressed with the variety of fresh meats from veal to freshly made sausages. Grocery stores like this make the grocery experience constantly interesting. -

Ok, so their chicken wasn't so great in my last review. I had to update it because I went there today, looking for Gardein products & other veg friendly products & found them all at this location. So I'm pretty happy about that. Though the tofu noodles were a bit pricey. I'll have to see where I can get it cheaper!

This Longos location is average.
Recommendation - Avoid the fresh food and buy off the shelves

1. For lunch you need to visit before 1pm because by 2pm they stop serving the hot meal options
2. Prices are average / food choices are average
3. Does not offer the stone baked pizza or veal sandwiches
4. Parking is difficult. Very congested to get into the mall
5. Frozen pizza option was below par
6. Good to browse - lots of aisles filled with gourmet options
7. Groceries are hit or miss. Sometimes the produce is terrible. I found some bunches of slimy celery.
8. Staff are polite but not exceptional for service. -

This is my Longo's, bitches!
This Longo's is on my way home from work. I was going to have to start eating dust bunnies if I didn't get some groceries tonight. I love how this Longo's has a civilized parking lot (has one way signs to keep the traffic flowing in front of the store), and civilized customers. Never have I had to give someone the stink eye or call them a friendly name under my breath. That is right people - no pushy cart people wanting to run you down. Plus, the staff here - hello - they rock! I have had the cart chaser staff come and take my cart from me after I loaded up my car. Plus every cashier I have had the pleasure of chatting with is super friendly.
Now...back to the reason why I go here - to stock up y'all!! Tonight...oh tonight...a night that will live in my mind forever....Longo's had...get this....20 muther-flocking different kinds of apples! Yes, 20. I stood in the apple aisle and rubbed my eyes. Had Christmas come early for Shari?! Oh yes it had!! Decisions, decisions, decisions. As much as I wanted to knock a few to the ground and roll around in my own apple land (yes there would be oompa loompas there to sing and dance), I held my composure and decided on purchasing some honey crisp apples. What made me decide? Honestly, they all looked good, but the princess in me liked them the best because they were the shiniest. I know - how a true foodie should shop.
Longo's has the best selection of fruits and vegs for a regular grocery store. If you want better produce - go to St. Lawrence Market or Whole Foods. If you need to buy shit-tickets, milk and fruit - this is your place.
Another thing that I love about Longo's is their trays you can order. A couple of month's ago I ordered a huge fruit tray for a bridal shower. It was such a hit at the party. When I picked it up from Longo's...oh yes....there was an offer to help me carry it to my car! I was surprised and thrilled by the offer, but I was good to carry the fruit solo.
I think this will be a review that I update regularly...I do love this store!
Oh - I almost forgot!!!! Because I have a Longo's points card, I got a free reusable grocery bag today! Wow! If you want to purchase good reusable grocery bags, Longo's has insulated ones that you can zip up. Highly recommend.Listed in: Push the Grocery Cart
