Review from Hilary G.
With over 2000 hectares, it's hard to put a dent in exploring this park which apparently extends all the way to Sambro, NS. There is a small parking lot on the left off St. Margaret's Bay Road if you are coming from downtown Halifax (before you hit Prospect Rd.). It's about 10-15 minutes from downtown. From the parking lot there are two main trails you can take which hug the lake. There are some rocky beaches which you can take the dogs on to go swimming if the lake is not frozen. It's a beautiful place to hike and I highly recommend this park as dog and human heaven close to downtown. Keep in mind that the province does not mark the trails so it can be a little difficult to tell where the trail is at times.
