Back during the Bush 43 Administration, the White House advised that Americans should not go to Canada to get their prescription drugs because we can't ensure that those drugs would be safe. The Republican Governor of Minnesota (Tim Pawlenty) response was "Show me the dead Canadians".
With that in mind, I previously entered this London Drugs to investigate the possibilities. This store within the West Edmonton Mall was busy and as far as I could tell, there were no Contagious Canucks writhing in the aisles. What I did find was a neat electronics section, lots of interesting office supplies and nick knacks, some sun screen that contained a non-FDA approved ingredient, and some nonprescription items that couldn't be obtained in the US in an over-the-counter form.
And yes I brought them back across the border and have lived to tell this story. Unfortunately, I didn't think of including Cuban Cigars/Rum or even Poutine while working undercover as Rosebud - International Man of Mystery. -

This London Drugs location is a great place to shop if you're looking for something on the run while in West Ed. They have a variety of everyday items, as well as a good electronics selection. Ever since their renovation a few years ago, this location has become more presentable and features an easy-to-browse through layout in their body care and electronics sections.
Over the past few years, London Drugs has become more competitive with their electronics. They have a good selection of the latest brands, and try to keep up with new models that are out. They also have a good selection of cameras, lenses, and laptop computers. I find that they staff here are very specialized in their departments, and were more than willing to provide me with more than enough information about the products I was looking at. I am not sure if the staff here are paid under commission, but I do not get the sense that I am being pressured into a sale.
