Review from Don B.
Don't ask me why I was in a London Drugs in Burnaby BC.
Seriously... don't ask.
All I have to say is that we found not one, but two seriously magical surprises in this store:
1. A Nolan Ryan action figure posed mid-pitch with a bloody nose and blood running down the front of his jersey (yes, on purpose), and
2. An Elgin Baylor action figure with lifelike hardwood floors and a realistic knee brace (complete with Chuck Taylors).
These hidden gems were found amongst a slough of hockey action figures (yeah, we're in Canada... you'd expect hockey action figures, right?!). Not even in a parallel universe would I expect to find ultra-realistic action figures of a 1958 NBA hall-of-famer and a famous American baseball pitcher covered in blood.
My only regret is that I did not buy the Julius Erving action figure (from his 76'er days). They were on sale for CDN$5 after all. -
Review from Simon K.
Right under the Walmart in Lougheed Mall, it is your typical LD, filled with a big cosmetic department, a really big kitchen cookware department in the back. A decent electronics department, and some fairly decent food isles. As I said before, LD is a great place to do one-stop shopping, and burning some good time at lunch if you got nothing else to do, and need to be entertained.
The only thing about this location is that it is deep within the mall, and you have to park on the backside of the mall if you do not want to walk great distances to get here. This is probably also the place to come within this mall to get 'higher' end electronic products. Seems odd, but it is true, if you really think of the other alternatives in Lougheed.
Constant sales are displayed right in the centre of this store, and they are always well stocked of sale items.
