How have I not written a review for Locas yet? I love Locas!
Back in college, I used to play pool a lot. Hours per day, and I was pretty decent. Now, those skills have almost entirely left me but I still love playing pool and impressing the odd person who expects me to be terrible.
I absolutely adore the vibe at Locas, it's so laid back and cool. I like that they have darts and other games there to play, so you can just hang out and have a few drinks or you can pay to play pool. And it's so cheap on Sundays!
It is membership only, but I don't recall the membership being more than $20 and it's for a whole year. Plus you're allowed to sign in up to four guests.
This is absolutely my favorite spot in the city to play pool, and it's great for just drinks, some nachos or pepperoni, and darts or games as well. I'm a big fan.Listed in: Fun, Fun, Fun

I wasn't here for very long but some of my friends were playing darts here so I dropped by to check the place out. The place has a laid back vibe and I don't think the membership is much money. A double shot rum and coke was $9.50 which seemed reasonable. Locas is a good place to hang with friends where you can hold a conversation and hear each other.

I have a friend who is a real pool shark. He has his own pool cue and ridiculous carrying case, he practices trick shots and occasionally seems to be a big shot.
Plus, he has a membership at Locas, so...he's kind of a big deal.
A few weeks ago he signed me in (members only) to see what Locas was all about. I hadn't been to the new location and beyond the White Stripes secret concert at the old place, I'd never been at all. I didn't know what to expect, but a pool shark had a membership so my expectations were high.
And my expectations were definitely met.
What a cool spot Locas is. Plenty of pool tables, comfy seating, dart boards and tables for cards. It's got a very cool atmosphere. The seating is surprisingly comfortable and there are plenty of TV's to check out games.
The staff was friendly, pretty laid back, but really helpful and eager to talk about the location. If there wasn't a membership required I would definitely go back more often.
If you're a pool fan, then it's probably a no brainer to enquire about membership at Locas. It seems to me that it would definitely be worth the price. If you're not willing to fork over the money for a membership, then make friends with somebody who is and check this place out soon.
