I am not usually the pub-grub fan, but made a reservation for a group of about 20 for my Dad's birthday a year or so ago. I was very happy with the evening, as the service was excellent and everyone was very pleased with the items they chose.
The chicken flings (boneless chicken wings - made of white meat) are especially delicious and come in a variety of seasonings. All together, we tried all flavours and I think all of the main items on the menu were ordered with everyone complimenting on their meals.
The service was also outstanding. We were allowed to bring our own cake and they served us on the patio as it was a nice and warm evening. They brought out the cake and came out to sing 'Happy Birthday' with us. Neighbouring tables also joined in the fun.
I would definitely go again, especially with a group to watch a game. It's mainly a sports bar, but the food is of surprising quality compared to the usual standards of such places.
I recommend this for anyone - from the pub-grub fan to the picky eater. -

A sports bar chain in the Ottawa area, Local Heroes is popular because its affordable, and because of it's supremely awesome chicken wings and extremly helpful staff.
If you're a hockey fan, they also sell packages to Senators games which includes meals and a shuttle to the game. It's also a great place to kick back and watch the game with other fans.
What sets it apart from the typical sports bar is that the food is actually really good. Asides for the wings, the Cajun style chicken breast and Atlantic salmon are worth the visit. Sunday night is family night, where all food items are 25%. While the Thursday night special Beef/Chicken fajita's are really good to fill up on. -

Our young family regularly frequents Local Heroes for breakfast on weekends. The service is awesome, the breakfast is awsome and the prices are awesome. What more could you ask for?
