Review from Gary M.
The best store to pick up your kicks in VanCity.
It's a sweet cave, with lovely hype stuffs. Like visiting Tokyo minus the business class fare. The guys are still the same crew from 10 years ago and are still hungry.
They live this sh*t. It was nice to stop by and chat. I need some new kicks soon me thinks.

This place is a legend for sneakers. It's been around forever. They don't just sell sneakers but other gear too. I buy most of my guy friends' gifts here. I love how their stock is unique and creative. Cool local store.

Okay so I'm a pretty girly chick. The majority of my shoes are high heels. I have one or two serviceable pair of sneakers and I don't think much about them - they serve an entirely utilitarian purpose. However - I have come here with guys who are sneaker fanatics - and they look at this place the same way I look at the wall of Christian Louboutin's in Holt Renfrew.
And that is how I know this place is special. Everytime I have been in, my sneaker loving friends have been practically giddy. Even I can tell these things are high quality.
So don't take it from me - take it from the goofy grin on my sneaker fetish friend's face. This is a place to hit up if you have the same kink! -

I'm a huge whale. Whales come in, drop money and expect VIP service. Whales built Las Vegas. How do I give 5-stars to my pusher man - provider of fresh kicks, joy and crushing debt? Because they know how to treat whales well.
Sure I'm not getting comped flights and limo service to the store, but Livestock recently started allowing pre-orders for some launch day kicks. That means no more waiting in line for hours in the cold and rain - hoping the grail of your quest hasn't been sold out before you get a crack at it. It's great being able pre-pay and just stroll in on launch day whenever you please and walk out with hot kicks in hand.
I guess Livestock changed with the times since some of the big-box sneaker stores have been doing this for a couple of years. I rather support the smaller guys, but the Champ's/Foot Locker conglomerate gets my dollar if they can lock in a pair for me. I felt a bit guilty - but hey, I respect the hustle of eager pimple-faced sales reps cold-calling me to ask if I was interested on an upcoming drop. Quite literally: "They just keep calling me! And caaaalliiing me. I need help!"
Part of me appreciated Livestock for keeping it real for so long. And part of me misses standing in line with other sneakerheads at 6AM - huddled together in an unwashed mass for warmth - all feening and talking about kicks. A perfect symphony of anticipation and anxiety. We were a group of Tyrone Biggums's - just missing the unwashed jacket, fingerless gloves and endless chest-scratching.
Still my favourite sneaker shop in Vancouver -- I guess in the same way you can love your favourite drug dealer. This song might as greet me everytime I waltz in to the store:

If I was a guy and I had a few hundred bucks to spend here... I would.
I came in here a few weeks back with my friends who were visiting from the San Francisco, Bay Area.
The vibes in here were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even gave my little guy few stickers while he was hanging out... I thought that was nice...
They do have a ton of nice shoes and clothes here, probably things you would not find elsewhere...
There should be more stores like this- so trendy! -

The best sneaker store in Vancouver by a long way.
Awesome space, great range, friendly and knowledgable staff, and um a great range! They carry all usual labels but the only stockist of Clae that I've found so far.
If only more stores were like this. -

This is the BEST place in Vancouver to get the coolest and best sneakers...the service is great..they are all really knowledgeable about the best sneaker brands like Adidas..Nike..Vans..what's hot...and how everything fits and wears..they have a lot of "exclusive" designs..so you can feel extra special and not toooo guilty when you spend $300 on sneakers...'cause they're "exclusive"...I know it's a stretch but it helps me sleep at night when I spend my grocery money on foot wear..."exclusive" footwear that is...
They also have a good selection of clothing..not my style..but worth a look while you are there...OH and they have some wicked Casio watches..remember them from the 80's?? Well they are back and revamped and AWESOME! Mind you, I remember when they were $20 and know they are $100 because they are "cool"..but..is true..they are pretty cool! -

Swung through Vancouver on a northwest trip over the summer, and wanted to check out Livestock and other shops. The place was slightly hard to find, but that's only because I was from out of town.
Walking in, I remember the walls just being blacked out with mood lighting in select spots, haha. Either way, it was a cool set up.
Sneaker selection was pretty good, had a collection of Nike's, Adidas, etc. Also have a large selection of Vans so I'm thinking this is the place you'd want to check out to up your canvas shoes game. They had a pair of all black leather chucks with a black toe cap (rarely scene!) that wasn't part of the Cons line so it wasn't padded all over. I was so tempted to buy them but decided if I wanted to cop, I'd go on their website later and buy it. There website is easy to go through as well.
Guys at the counter were really nice, I told them I was from out of town and they recommended a few stores, including Goodfoot a couple blocks down. As I mentioned in another post, Vancouver seems to have a tight streetwear community which I applaud. Seems like California has too many pretentious employees at certain sneaker boutiques so the vibe in Vancouver was a very pleasant experience.
So if you're in the area, definitely check this place out! -

If you're tired of having to shop online and are looking for a NYC style sneaker shop, this is it. Look no further.
It's certainly a collectors shop that's bringing the collectibles to the forefront regular consumer.
There is a constant rotation of what is available and the people that work here all share the love without the air of snootiness you may find elsewhere in "specialty" stores like this. -

Livestock. If I could I'd never leave. This is one of my top shopping spots in Vancouver. Always well stocked, great kicks, shirts pants, you name it.
These guys even throw the annual block party in Gastown, which always caps the summer off well. If you have any appreciation for loud clothing and solid shoes, Livestock is a must shop. -

i am a sneaker pimp.
i would make love to sneakers if it were humanly possible.
i like to have my sneakers watch me undress my feet.
sneakers are sexy.
with that said... where would a sneaker pimp like myself go to get her fix? well, Livestock. i've been an avid shopper of this store in all its locations in Canada. Gastown is a premiere area for boutique shopping. there's no complaints about this store- i simply love their collections and choice of artwork for their decor.
Livestock is the Canadian equivalent to NY, Tokyo, LA's hot and exclusive kicks store. -

Another good shop in Van for sneaks, right in Gastown along with several other stores. It's another example of why Van has Seattle beat, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to streetwear boutiques.

I was driving around looking for stores to check out in Vancouver with a friend when we past by Livestock. There was maybe 4 guys standing in front of the store, which was when we remembered that there was a count down pack coming out. Well, we got in line to check it out. To our surprise, they had massive amounts in each size. On top of that, their in-store brand looks very strong, and the other brands they carry are also quite top notch. I would definitely recommend this spot to check out if you are into street wear.

Streetwear and sneakers. If thats your bag, this is your spot if your walking around Gastown. Passed through on a trip to Vancouver last year.
