Are you looking for a new and different yoga place? Does all those other hot yoga places have too many rules for you?

The studio really appealed to me because of all the different classes they offer.  They have a Ashtanga, Hot Power Flow, Hatha, Yin, Ansura inspired. Even though I have the passport, I would really like to invest my class card money to a place that offers me a variety of styles.

I was really surprised by this place. It didn't start so well, especially when I had to pay $4 for street parking, and when I called my friend, he was whispering on the phone that the place isn't very phone friendly. I told him to get there the usual 20 mins before the class start and he was cursing me.
When I got there, turns out we were in the small area where you put your shoes. You stand, there was no seats very small. The practice room is separated from the waiting area by a big curtain. The doors only open 10 mins before class. That's where everyone signs in and transitions out.

But that was my only real complaint. Everything else was really good. While waiting in the alcove we heard some Bruno Mars, seems fun!

The LiV Gently class was pretty much a Yin class, I hardly broke a sweat. It's reduced heat, and the descriptions says it great for beginners to learn the foundations.  It was taught by Toni, the studio's owner. She took her time to explain each pose and the benefits and how to do them.  I also liked how she took a survey of the class level.
During the last half hour, our stretching was accompanied by a slow disco ball and the Bee Gees!

The changerooms were not huge, but I didn't feel like it was super small either.  There was a big Ikea Expedit bookcase(http://www.ikea.com/ca...) perfect for cubbieholes. It was perfect outside the change room, so that quick changers that didn't need to be there can change outside.  Inside, it was a big crowded, but manageable.  The space wasn't optimized. 2 large showers (could have been spilt into two more)

All the rules from the Bikram and Moksha classes go out the window here.  There aren't any mirrors, but she makes the class fun. I'll be back, but doesn't mean I"ll stop going to Moksha either.

Dropped by LiV Yoga Studio on a Snowy Sunday evening for LiV gentle class. The studio was so dark.. I almost think that it was not open because of Super Bowl :)

I did not realize that I have to be so quiet even when I am at the doorway taking off my boots. It was so dark, I cannot even read any signs posed on the door..

Whispering Whispering, feel like I am in a conspiracy.. or I am dealing with something illegal.. Hey I just want to take a yoga class! :P

Personally, I do think they really need to do something with the space.. just using a curtain to block off the practise room does not really work... I can't imagine how they can keep the heat just inside the practise area..

The practise room itself is quite nice.. high ceilings, dim lighting.. and yes that disco ball! Unfortunately, the disco ball was not used in my class. The Yin class with reduced heat by candle light was A-OK... Wish the instructor will give more adjustment. .there weren't any!

They do offer more hip yoga classes like with Live DJ or Hip Hop music! This is good if you want something more nontraditional! :)

Passport of Prana is welcome here.

Parking are free if you come on Sunday the whole day or Weekends after 6 pm.. either park on King or closer to the Liberty Market Place.

I started at LIV in January of this year when I did a 40 days of yoga challange. Through doing this challange I was able to try different classes, times and teachers and I love it.

There are different classes depending on how hard you want to push yourself.  You can have a challenging practice or a gentle one deepending on what your need is.

It is beautiful space right in Libery Village and the yogis are warm and friendly and ready to help you deepen your practice.

    I love love LIV

This studio changed names from Power Yoga Canada. Thought I'd give it another try but my thoughts remain the same. Kinda all the same teachers that are floating around the Tula/Iam Yoga/Moksha circuit, but more out of the way.

I am new in the whole Yoga thing. last week one of my friends told me about Liv Yoga Studio and the introduction special they have. I went for my first time last thursday and I really enjoyed it. the place is small but really cozy. the two instructors I had the opportunity to work with were both really nice. Im now really interested in learning more about yoga and I  definitely recommend  Liv...there is nothing better than some yoga after a long day at work.
