After craving fish and chips for a long time, I was convinced (rather easily) to go for some sushi, I just LOVE sushi.  After a walk around Lonsdale Quay, I found that most sushi places were probably more overprices than over tastier and over quality.  So for no apparent reasons besides wanting sushi for an average price, I went to Little Tokyo.

The place is rather small but cozy.  People go in for a quick bite, in and out kinda quick bite.  There was one other customer when I was in but quickly there was a lineup for eat in and pickups.

I read the previous reviews and like Billy says, I must disagree... too.  The sushi was the same price as the other places I went in my life, and under priced compared to the sushi restaurant right in front of it (as in 2$ per roll under priced).  The quality and the service is good. So bottom line is... sushi is sushi, so unless its not fresh, how can you say sushi is ... bland ??  It's not like the ingredients can be over salted or undercooked.  It's freaking rice with salmon or crab...

Anyways, there's nothing super hype or super special about it.  Just another good sushi joint delivering good sushi for an average price.  I'm satisfied and will definitely go back for more if that sushi craving comes back and I'm around there.

I hate writing negative reviews, but I feel like this one is much needed to warn the general public about Little Tokyo.

It's a pretty small establishment conveniently located by the sea bus.

My boyfriend and I popped in here on our vacation one afternoon while waiting for the sea bus. He had ordered the spicy salmon roll, while I had the chop scallop roll. We got our order fairly quickly.

My boyfriends roll, turned out to be a regular small non-spicy salmon maki. When he told the waitress about the mistake, she just gave him "spicy" mayo sauce on the side. Not hot sauce, mayo. No corrections. The mayo wasn't even spicy at all.

My chop scallop roll was way too messy and fell apart as I tried to eat it. The rice was hot, not room temperature, not chilled, just steaming hot. It honestly looked like they just threw the roll on a plate. The scallops were drowning in mayo (not even Japanese mayo!) and they didn't put tobiko in it like most places. I felt gross after trying to finish it and just left.

Found sushi over priced and under proportioned. Staff were extremely non-existent during a slow mud-day lunch. Our office left still hungry, outta time and ho hum even though the boss foot the bill. Want sushi? Just head up Lonsdale (away from the Quay) for a vast array of tasty stand-ins for way less wallet damage.

I disagree with the reviews for Little Tokyo. Being a sushi lover and extremely picky about my sushi, i was pleasantly surprised at the value and quality of the sushi. I order the my usual, california roll, salmon roll, and negitoro roll. First off, the have one of the better california rolls that i've had (i've had a lot of them). Secondly, the negitoro rolls come with huge slices of sashimi, and not just scraps from the fish. I'm talking slices of them stuff into a bigger roll. Imagine a Futomaki roll, it's the same size as that. Everything tastes really fresh and i have to say, i indulge every week. Hot food on the other hand i have to say it's not the best. I've had there chicken teriyaki and it was not good. Udon was ok, but it wasn't great either. Stick with the sushi and you won't regret it.

Little Tokyo is convenient if you're rushing to the seabus, and they have self serve tea and miso soup, but the sushi is only okay.  In a city of endless sushi stops, this one gets points for location, but not for taste; the sushi I had here was kind of bland.  But, like I said, it's a great place to stop if you need a quick bite before jumping on the seabus.
