Was with German friend. I introduced her to bubble tea. At first she was puzzled by my description of it, but quickly became a fan.

We stumbled by this place on our way to English Bay. While we were humming and hawing on what to order, I asked this mother-daughter duo in front of us what they ordered. In a sweet Texan accent they reply "Depends on what y'all like". Gotta love that southern accent. Oh rite, back to the bubble tea.

Went with fresh kiwi tea, but the sweet owner lady couldn't find any kiwi's :(. I settled on coconut milk. It was pretty decent, but the star was the pearls. They were perfectly cooked and fresh tasting with just the right chewiness. My friend had fresh peach slush. I liked the flavour even better than the coconut as it had just the right amount of natural sweetness.

Bonus points to the sweetness of the lady working there. This will definitely be my DT bubble tea spot, especially during summer. Oh and a final note, like most Chinese places, this is CASH only.

A perfect spot for a bubble tea shop.  Atmosphere (check!) little chairs and upstairs area that I'd like to refer to from hereon in as the "dollhouse." Tea selections (check!) lots of choices - taro, red bean, cappucino and fresh fruits just to name a few. Cleanliness (check). I could see almost everything behind the massive counter - and it looked orderly and sanitary!

Now, I'm not an expert at bubble teas. I like em...I don't usually crave 'em, unless it's a hot day and I want something like an iced tea. My lychee green tea had great flavour! Unfortunately, it was room temperature. With the huge ice machine behind that counter, I know this is an easy fix.

But what really turned my smile upside down was the pearls. I like my tea with 'em for their chewy/bouncy consistency. But these pearls tasted undercooked in the centre. -- Can a pearl be undercooked? -- With every chew I felt a somewhat dry and powdery centre. But I kept sipping and chewing trying to put my finger (or in this case tongue) on what it reminded me of...ah, it was like biting down on a chewable vitamin...

    That's not right, right?

I'll give them another chance though because I really want to like them. They have promise in their little location with their little seats and cute little dollhouse. Maybe next time I should bring a tea expert with me...any takers?

Thanks Crystal for finding the address for me to post my review... unlike our Yelp Ambassador - I didn't have the pearls.. but went for my red bean choice when it comes to bubble tea and asian drinks!
Not many places use real red bean... and usually goes with the cheap powder.. so I was definitely more motivated to get this... now to decide whether to get it HK style or in a blended paste. I went for the red bean shake/paste.. and got milk.. not overly sweet condensed option.
To me.. it was a perfect red bean drink... sweet as it was.. but it was delicious.
The prices were awesome.. but CASH ONLY.

They have green bean too.. which I want to definitely come back for.
