I have to give Little Mysteries Books a strong five. I love this store.
I was looking for some special gems as a gift. Believe it or not , these are not easy to find.

Little Mysteries is a wonderful place you should take your time to look through. The staff is very knowledgeable, they helped us pick out some special stones and of course each one has its own history. They packaged them in beautiful little bags. I also bought a piece of Amethyst. This has great healing powers and energy.

There is so much in this store, books, crystal balls, potions, and of course wands. We could have spent more time in here, I found some of the books very interesting. Maybe next time for a book.

The prices were very reasonable considering the are the only kids on the block.  If you are looking for the place to guide you if you are mystical at all, stop by here.

How many days do you walk down the street and ask yourself, "Where can I find everything I need to know about Angels, my future, what gems to protect me and good pricing for crystal balls?" Well if you actually do ask those questions, just go to Little Mysteries Books for the answers.

This store has everything for both the everyday person and witches. They even have a Tarot card reader on site whom I actually went to. And believe it or not, he was amazing! After I gave him my Social Insurance Number, phone numbers of all my friends and family, and my address, a week later he told me everything about me and my past! Just kidding. But I did actually go to him and he did actually blow my mind! I don't go to Psychics often but he was amazing!

Their book selection revolves around magic, paganism, angels and spiritual type books. They also have a lot of jewelery, wands and crystal balls. I've found their pricing to be very fair. They don't overcharge because they are the only ones selling the products they do. So I respect that. They are also right downtown on Barrington Street. The staff are definitely friendly and very knowledgeable.

So for great selection, being able to tell me my future, selling crystal balls and teaching me magic, Little Mysteries gets five stars!

This is an enchanting little shop full of wonders. Street wanderers can pop in to find a collective of books, stones, meditation CDs and the like to assist in a quest towards spirituality and mystic tales.

I'm a fan of the shop with its sweet service and always interesting array of stock. Its a fun spot to browse! The the gems and stones in these sorts of stores are always of interest to me. Whether they heal or not, they are tiny pieces of something organic and precious.

Its a small and intimate space with its own special touch. They are also great about supporting arts & culture events around the city, so take a look here if you're curious about a broad scope of Halifax's offerings.

I came here expecting a typical bookstore, but I discovered left me feeling spellbound! Turns out this "bookstore" is infused with an earthy, spiritual, necromancy-inspired atmosphere.  The store's design is quite earthy and holistic, featuring classic hardwoods, and spice-colored draperies throughout.

The books at the store feature such topics as Wiccan spirituality, and even poition-making, which I thought was interesting (not my cup of tea, but I was still intrigued nonetheless). They also carry an assortment of meditation CDs and a variety of different incenses to enhance a person's spiritual enlightenment (this I could certainly handle, who doesn't like relaxation?)

What I found the most intriguing about Little Mysteries was their selection of ecclectic jewelry (including these elegant looking amulets) and their collection of precious gems, each bearing a special magical quality, such as healing and prosperity.  There's also a nice selection of dreamcatchers here (though I prefer the ones that you find at native handicraft stores).  I had thought about purchasing a couple of the gems here (which they apparently package in these quaint little pouches providing you buy a few of them)- but alas, I had no cash on me at the time... I'll certainly be dropping by again to make a  purchase.

Besides the spiritually-enriching products, Little Mysteries also features some interesting novelties, including magical wands, elegant crystal balls, and yes even cauldrons- I was quite amazed by these findings.

There's a lot to take in at this store, and for those like me who are curious and unfamiliar with the Wiccan spirituality, the friendly and informative staff at Little Mysteries are eager to explain the products and the general jist of the belief system.   Also, sometimes there are pyschics on hand at the store for tarot and palm readings- though if you're interested in giving that a go, it's probably a good idea to call and book ahead of time (a friend and I were going to try the psychic readings, but apparently this service can be very popular, and the psychic wasn't able to see us- maybe next time...)

Bottom line:  This unique little "bookshop" injects a healthy dose of Salem in Metro Halifax, and is a great little spot to come and be enlightened and in-touch with spiritual necromancy.  Exciting stuff!

Well, this is NOT a fiction book store aimed at murder mysteries and detective novels.  Nope.  I was definitely wrong in thinking that when I stumbled into this store.

This is a new age and Wiccan store.  That's not quite the same as a fiction book store.  When I first walked in I was greeted by an earthy woman who informed me of a huge sale they were having.  Okay, I wasn't in there to actually look around, but I didn't want to be rude and leave immediately, so I browsed around.

It was actually an interesting 10 minutes.  There was one rack that was based around '3 Stones.'  These stones had different meanings; healing, travelling, love, breaking habits, protection, etc.  They also sold mini cauldrons, which were actually quite adorable, and spell books and potion ingredients.  There was one book called Kitchen Witches Cookbook which I actually found interesting.  It had regular meals in it and didn't appear to carry potions or spells at all.

I'm not really into the whole new age lifestyle of witches and whatnot, but it was pretty cool to see what it was all about.  Actually, I was almost sucked into buying a 'clean house' kit which was said to rid houses of evil and negative energy.  Having just moved into a new apartment I thought it was a good idea.  Plus, the kit was only $5 and it seemed cool.

Little Mysteries is a delightful shop, filled with angels and crystals and incense.

The staff are laid-back and friendly, offering assistance but giving you time to browse. There are plenty of meditation CDs, books on spirituality and mysticism, along with tons of precious stones for the rock connoisseur.

I purchased a Blue Lace Agate and a Selenite stone, and my shopping mate picked up some catnip along with a package of Sandalwood incense.

In the back of the store behind a curtain, a reading was taking place, and it was neat to hear what was being divulged yet be in the dark as to who was back there.

If you're feeling open and interested, you should swing by. Mysteries and treasures abound at this enchanting little shop.

Little Mysteries is the place to visit in Halifax if you're interested in new age mysticism, Wicca or witchcraft. Or, if you're like me, you may visit if you want your apartment to smell better. A search for candles brought me into this store recently, and although I didn't find any that suited me, I can report back on what a nice little shop it is. The two women on staff at the time were very helpful and cordial - we talked about many of the products on offer and shared some laughs over how to use a Neti pot (just go ask). You can find all sorts of things in this store, but it would be most useful if you are into new age spirituality. If you are, head here for books, DVDs, candles, incense, herbs, gemstones, cauldrons and other accessories. And, of course, for the great service.
