Review from Melissa L.
Calgary, AB
While the selection can never compare to that of a province-owned liquor store, Liquor Plus stands out from the crowd of privately-owned liquor stores by consistently providing exceptional customer service. They are always fully staffed with employees who are available right on the floor to help you find the perfect wine. They really are knowledgeable. In addition to sorting wines by country, they've also got sections for "Top Choices"- and "Top Affordable Choices" (I think it's under $20, or maybe even under $15), so if you're not in the mood to chat you can still make an informed choice. Their selection of beers and liquers is also strong- I noticed they carry Licor 43 which is an amazing, hard-to-find Spanish liquer (try it mixed with milk like the Scandinavians do!).

History
Established in 2005
In 2001 the Provincial government lifted the moratorium on privately held Liquor Stores. Couple over 20 years of grocery retail experience and 20 years of Liquor industry experience and you have the makings of a strong business that is dedicated to its customers.
Initially the Royal Oak store was only 3000 sq. ft. but in 2010 we expanded and added another 1,000sq ft, lowered shelving hieght and added simple touches that provide useful information about the products that we carry.
Meet the Manager: Rod P.
Rod has been in the liquor industry for over 20 years and thus has an intimate knowledge of the products, people and logistics system here in B.C. Much of the products in the store reflect his approach that it is easy to find a $50 wine that will blow your socks off, the trick, however, is to find wines at $10, $15 or $20 that do the same.
