LW is an enigma to me, a store based on the failing of another store. There were and are somegreat deals there, but lately since they were acquired by Big Lots, I find their prices are a bit higher than say Walmart.
The staff are nice, though it is kind like a ghost town in there during the day, hopefully it does pick up. Another thing, they should update their signage, I think if they did that, it would get busier. -

I enjoy a bargain as much as the next person, and I have nothing against these types of stores. I've found some good deals in the past at other similar venues. But this one really didn't measure up for me, even by discount store standards.
I know enough not to expect too much from these kind of shops, but the wares here really do seem very cheap (and I am not referring to price) and junk-like. There did not seem to be any hidden gems among the rubble, just lots and lots of rubble. The furniture section did have a few interesting looking finds (a cherry wood crib that was kind of pretty, a couple of comfortable couch, loveseat, and recliner sets, etc.), but the prices really weren't much better than your average retail store. Seems like, for the lack of significant savings, it would be smarter just to go to a regular furniture store where there will be more selection and probably a higher quality of product.
I think the atmosphere had something to do with my distaste for this location as well. It was quite dark, the aisles narrow, and a lot of the merchandise seemed as if it had just been thrown on the shelf haphazardly. Also, it was incredibly dusty and musty in there; my asthma flared up almost as soon as we went in, and I am still coughing and feeling a bit choked up two hours later.
Liquidation World does offer what it promises: discontinued items at a discontinued price. As to whether it's a price customers are willing to pay for the quality of merchandise available, that's another question. Mine is a no, but to each their own. -

Liquidation World is located on Strawberry Hill in Halifax. Now I must admit I am not a huge fan of these kinds of stores, but I was told from a few people that this was the place to go.
So off I go, wow, I am still not impressed. Not sure what the draw is here. I did see some things at a good mark down, ie: batteries, reg 14, now 7 for a large package (Rayovac). Some of the silicone baking supplies were a good price.
There is everything in this store, I would say it is everyone else's left overs, this would be why it is a clear-out store. You will find, furniture, clothes, electronics, movies, food, shoes, kitchen-wares, etc.
I am sure to some people this is a shoppers heaven, but to me, I will pass. -

Liquidation World to me is know as deals deals and more deals. I remember the first time that I walked in and was very surprised of the variety of products that they had.
This is a great place if you are starting out on your own and need to pick up some thing for your house or apartment. They have everything from food to cloths and even furniture.
Everything seems to be alot less then the average department store prices. Currently I am going and checking the furniture as I am looking for a table set and they have great mark downs.
