We are so fond of going to Lick's especially in the summer months. Their burgers are so delicious and packed with our choice of veggie and condiments. The meaty patties are juicy and flavorful, and the buns are as good as they are and it doesn't come short in size.
Serving sizes can be a bit overwhelming with our average Asian tummies but I usually crave for their Chick'n Lick'n, while my hubby is so fond of their Gobbler or Homeburger, and the kids the same but in Kids Meals sizes. Onion rings, Poutine, Taters 'n Cream are the usual sidings. And the SHAKES, oh the Lickshake, sinful but divine. The ice cream is not overwhelmingly sweet yet creamy and packed with chips and chunks. We usually go for the smallest cups to have a bit of as many flavors.
With Subway right next door, I guess they just have to have the so-called healthier options, too: vegetarian burgers, fruit and vegetable drinks, and fresh salads. Its s the eating trend. But we go to Lick's for the traditional goodness.
Service is great and the crew very conversational and accommodating. A little loud but its adorable. Probably typical of north American diners where the vibe is energetic and friendly. I like the open kitchen right behind the main counter where we view the blazing and sizzling flames as it cooks the patties and enjoy a surreal backyard-bbq-like encounter while the cook grills on. And as mentioned, they like to chat, we like to chat.
The colorful and bright interior makes it perfect for any family or kids' party. Everyday balloons, ice cream, candies, and classic wall decors give a bit of nostalgia. Its always fun being at Lick's and we usually come out happy and quite filled that tomorrow can worry for itself. And I'm glad its Canadian owned and operated. -

What brought me to Lick's? Not the wonderful, mouth watering burgers but a teambuy coupon........
Burger tasted ok.. and the topping options are quite good!!
The only complaint is the way how the cook prepares the burger patties... he basically pre cooked some of the patties on the grill and put them aside.. when someone place an order, he just put it back on the grill to heat it up... (blah..........)
The fries was deep fried when I ordered, so it was really fresh and really crispy!
The combo was quite filling.. But I don't think I will be back if not for another special offers! -

No longer a 1 star. Now a negative star!
Folks. I contacted the Licks management last week to arrange for my full refund. They did not call me back or respond to my e-mails.
I sent a quick e-mail to their customer service c/o their owner. No response. I am surprised. Licks was always customer driven. This is so uncharacteristic of them.
Hate to do this as Licks was one of my favorite burger places.
Based on a lack of response and the deficient service at this location.
And after reading a few of the other reviews by my fellow yellpers at other locations I have gotten an impression that the LICKS magic is GONE.
