Les chocolats Favoris is the best IceCream spot in QuébecCity!
Their European style chocolate will knock you off your feet!
I live in Québec and trust me, the experience is worth it!

After a failed attempted to find Les Chocolats Favoris in Levis (apparently I cannot follow directions provided in French) leading to a sad ferry ride back and several extra blisters on my feet, I decided to drive to the location in Charlesbourg.  It was about a 15 minute drive from my hotel but fairly easy to find.  As I approached, I saw the long line out the door and around the corner.  Luckily there were several parking areas and I managed to find a spot.  I was in line for about 30 minutes which wasn't bad considering the length of the line.  The menu was entirely in French but I managed to order a cone of vanilla ice cream dipped in dark chocolate.  I could be wrong but I believe it was a medium and was around $5.  Soon my face was covered in melted chocolate, ice cream, and a smile.  I typically prefer hard serve ice cream, but this was thicker and richer than any other soft serve I've had.  Not quite as good as frozen custard, but close.  It was well worth the long line.

As previously mentioned there are two locations.  To get to the location in Levis you can take the 10 minute ferry ride ($3 each way) from Old Québec, arrive in Levis, turn right onto Rue Saint Laurent and follow it up the hill, continue onto Côte du Passage, and then turn left at Avenue Bégin.  Or, you can completely misunderstand the directions provided to you, take Rue Saint Laurent to the left, take the insanely steep red stairs up, walk around aimlessly for 2 hours, ask everyone you meet where "Les Chocolats" is, get laughed at, and arrive back at the ferry hungry and a bit miserable...that method didn't work so well for me though, so you might want to stick to the former...
