    Two items + rice = $6.50

Yummy mediterranean food, value price. Good place to check out if you're at UBC village. I absolutely loooveee their spinach stew! One time they also had this lamb and eggplant curry - which has now made me extremely fond of eggplant. So hearty and flavorful! The people that work their are really sweet too. :)

I'm kind of going through a Mediterrean/Middle eastern food craze right now - so I've been coming here lots the past week.
Actually, I think I'm going to go there for dinner. Like now.

4 stars is atrocious for this place... It deserves 2.5, but I'm rounding down because of the other reviewers.

Asides from the baklava and the nice lady that runs the place, everything at this restaurant is decidedly below average.

Bottom line: While I think it's the best place in the village basement foodcourt, it's worth the effort to go outside and either eat somewhere else in the village, walk to the Student Union Building, or get on the 99 and eat somewhere else.

Must have went on a bad day for them.  I had a take out chicken platter with humus and cesar salad.  first thing i noticed when i got home was that the plastic fork i had taken from them was dirty.  as if it was reused and poorly cleaned..  ehhh...   portion wise it's comparable to across the room's donair town.  humus is decent.  the cesar salad had rotten leaves ehhh.  sauces were generous which was nice.  lastly the chicken was dry and seemed like it had been sitting for a while.

I can't seem to find it on Yelp or anywhere else but between Currypoint and Leone there is this fast food steamtable chinese place.

Its not the best food by any means but they have this chicken/potatoe curry there which is really fantastic.

I am a little biased as the curry they have there is exactly what they fed me in high school for like 7 years so I have some unnatural cravings for it but I've eaten it like 20 times and its actually quite tasty.

Overall, the UBC village basement/international food court is cheap food for university students, enough said.

I got a chicken shawarma platter and it was quite tasty! They put enough sauce and even more when I asked for it. Everything was hot. One plate is enough for 2 lunches, really. It's a pretty good deal: $6.50 for a huge lunch! The only complaint I have is that they're a bit inconsistent with what goes into a shawarma platter because my colleague got one too and they didn't offer her everything they offered me...

Another fast food, food court style joint I like at UBC. This one in what is usually refered to as the Village (no relation to an M. Night Shyamalan movie). Nothing fancy, but it's cheap and tastes good for fast food. Lots of sovlaki, kabobs, and spanikopita. I recommend anything involving lamb, especially the stews. You can get two such stews (lamb spinach, and the other with lentils) with chicken curry on a bed of rice as one of their everyday specials. It's pretty much the cheapest thing on the menu and I think it's the best. Haven't tried their baclava, but I will one of these days.
