Review from Ken H.
This is is one of the better Cafe located in the Richmond area.
I came here on a cold rainy night with my friend and the setting are quite cozy. Actually reminded me of the coffee shops prior to Starbucks invasion in Asia.
We ordered few drinks and snacks. The drinks are of course, very Taiwanese style. The Taro milkshake was quite delicious. Silky smooth with the hint of taro . I like the overall texture of the milkshake.
Their mixed fried dish were just okay. Not enough seasoning but still better than most of the cafes in Richmond that I have been to prior to my yelp days.
Their sandwich are the bomb! The mayo is true to Taiwan flavor. Simple yet good. However, I wish they can shove off the side of the bread makes more "Taiwanese" Sandwich style
All in all, this is still not a place to be missed if you want authentic Taiwanese coffee/cafe experience in Richmond. -

Busy night tonight. Pearl teas and fried mushrooms. Lots of eye candy, if you are my sons age.
One of the first places I took my daughter and sister to for bubble tea.
I liked the rustic flavour of their layout and it seems to havn't changed at all over the years.
On a night like the night I went here, I did feel old. Most of the diners here were in their early twenties or teens. All communicating to each other via their i-phones over their bobas and toast with condensed milk.
Barely a word of English was spoken. It felt like I was in another country.
and in some ways, I was. This is a unique culture that this bubble tea has created.
It's a different generation and it's in Richmond.
Regardless of that fact, if you are looking for a place to go at night, possibly a date and in Richmond. You could easily find yourself here having a tea or coffee and some desert.
Holding hands and eye gazing is optional over 30 years of age.
Smart phones is a neccessary accessory.

After a five year long hiatus, I came back to this place for some nostalgic moments.
The setting is very cozy, none of that fancy decor, but just simple and plain. It looks exactly the same as when I frequented it many years ago.
Highlights of this place include their ice cream waffle-freshly made waffles with ice cream. It really doesn't get any better. Red bean, green bean, taro, and chestnut milk tea-all using fresh ingredients. I am absolutely in love with the chestnut one.
How did I forget about it?! -

Not your typical bubbletea/taiwanese cafe.
It seems like you've been brought into a lil cabin, in the midst of busy Alexandra street in Richmond. Cozy up with your group of friends in the cozy cabin feel seating. But because its slightly smaller.. i don't recommend coming in groups of larger than 6, As seating becomes difficult.
What I love coming here for?
Their tofufa & red bean combinations. I love adding the grass jelly in there too. (Feeling for something different? They have taro boba.. which is like taro mochi, and other different add-in choices.) Its good hot or cold! So its great for a summer or winter treat! You feel better also.. opting for this slightly bit healthier drink/snack compared to your starchy bobatea with pearls, made with hunks of artificial sugar and syrop. Mmm tofufa, with just the right hint of honey!
They also have an assortment of snacks. I always love a good fried mushroom platter! They do it good here! Both snack and drinks are all priced reasonably well! ~$5 each item. RICHMOND's CASH ONLY PLEASE!
Very leisurely indeed :DListed in: Sweet Tooth, Asian Cafe's

My ultimate favourite place for bubble tea food. The waffles are delicious, I recommend the tuna one if you want something savory, it's got cucumber and tomato slices with taiwanese mayonnaise that makes it a very refreshing combo altogether. The ice cream waffle, red bean waffle and chestnut waffle are all good as well, though I personally find that the red bean and chestnut waffles lack a bit of difference in texture. If you're a big fan of the stuff though, you will be getting heaps for sure.
Their chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I've had from an asian place. It's made from the same chicken as their crispy chicken nuggets I think..(it tastes exactly the same)
I have no clue what brand of ice cream they use but it is dericious like craziness in your mouth. Best vanilla ice cream ever and they use this for all their sundaes and ice cream involvement foods. I recommend the fruit sundae. It is just jam packed with FRESH fruit so you can kid yourself and pretend that you're still eating semi-healthy. The pudding sundae is good as well, though it is not the "taiwanese" pudding they serve but rather the japanese/filipino custard kind.
Bubble tea drinks are kind of mediocre here. Not bad but nothing special either.
Warm tofu pudding is good in winter, and they have a warm taro chunk option that you can add in, which is good if you are a taro fan.
All in all, it really is a persoal favourite of mine and I'd go way more often if parking wasn't death=(
(and don't think you can get away with parking in the lot across the road because you will get ticketed...) -

With summer and the hot weather finally here, I'd been craving a good shaved ice for quite some time. When a friend suggested we go for dessert last night, this place immediately came to mind.
I come here mainly for the caramel pudding shaved ice. I love the pudding, which is different from the egg pudding most other places use. It's got just the right consistency of creaminess and firmness, with a caramel topping. Add condensed milk (you can even ask for extra, if you've got a really sweet tooth) to this dish, and you're set!
Despite my raving review of their shaved ice, I only give this review 3 stars because my friends haven't been as impressed with their orders when we've been there. They've tried the waffles and ice cream, which was ok. The freshly made waffles were good, but the quality of the ice cream they used wasn't that great. If they used better ice cream for this dish, I'm sure it would be much better! Another friend tried the crepes, I think, and she seem to think they were pretty good.
The BBT drinks here are fairly standard...and we haven't tried their food, so I'm only commenting on desserts and drinks.
One last thing, the service here is a little slow...maybe because both times I've been there recently we sat at the front "booths" which are somewhat sectioned off, so getting the waiter/waitress' attention is a little difficulty. Also, one time we were there, we asked for waters for the table...which never came...until we asked for it a second time. Although the service was slow, they were very friendly...if they were only a little more attentive... -

My very first bubble tea place when I first arrived in Vancouver. My friend and I would hang out all night and come here after a night of clubbing. It gets really busy. We had tasty snacks and hot bubble tea. I love taro bubble tea and they made the most awesome taro bubble tea. My dear friend ahs since left Vancouver, but when I do come here, it always reminds me of our fun times together here. Come to think of it, is there any place in Richmond that isn't always busy?

Unique, Cozy, Retro:
are just some of the words that describes this place.
If you are detailed as Iam, this place is filled with picture frames of olden style paintings throughout their cafe. Each painting they have up is different. The wooden style furnishing along with the low light makes me feel as if Iam in a cottage.
They had done a great job in creating an ambience that works.
Drinks & snacks are in the variety. Their menu also include some combos which are quite tasty. I don't usually eat scones as I find them dry and boring. But the blueberry scones from here will make me order more next time. Pricing is quite reasonable.
I've returned back to this place several times. They keep things consistently here, something that not many businesses are able to do.
Staff are always friendly. This is actually my favorite place for tea. Well done Leisure. I recommend you trying this place if you are looking for something different -

Where I'm originally from, it's hard to come by some Taiwanese shaved ice, so I was thrilled to come here. The shaved ice choices can be more or less than $5, depending on what combination of flavors you select. I haven't tried any of their teas, coffee, or bubble teas since I am only devoted to their ices and their freshly made black sesame waffle cookies (6 for $1.75)...oh and occasionally their home made custard pudding.
They also sell sandwiches and savory dishes, so you might want to check out their lunch special for 2 people. I believe it's your choice of tea/coffee, savory dish, and dessert a set price.
Has anyone tried their blueberry scones? -

This place is pretty hilarious. The decor looks to be from the previous tenants (including the flowers!) and the service is mediocre. The bubble tea and various desserts were decent though.
That said, I'd recommend leisure for a "unique" bubble tea experience
