My parents, who grew up in Sheffield, insist that the Lee House hasn't changed a bit in the last 30 years, and that's both good and bad for this bar. On the one hand, the building has a beautiful old tin ceiling, and nearly everything else in the place is antique wood. On the other hand, parts of the building appear to be falling down, and there's no sign anyone's going to renovate any time soon. Still it's hard to argue with country prices on drinks, free full-size shuffleboard, and a small crowd of hardcore regulars. I saw the Scott's Special sign on the wall advertising $1.50 Busch Light cans, and it only took me 5 minutes to realize that I was standing about two feet from Scott, who was up at the bar enjoying a can of Busch Light and waiting for the lottery numbers to come up on the TV along with the other regulars. I came out of this place smelling like cigarettes and corn dogs, and I could have done without that part of the experience, but it was worth a visit for the neat old building and the authentic rural PA atmosphere. If you're driving Route 6, stop in for a Yuengling, and don't forget to look up at the ceiling.
