Best front desk staff ever! They offered great tips, suggestions, and really made us feel at home. Massive kudos to them.

The Auberge Saint Pierre is located within walking distance to many fantastic restaurants, shops, sites, and more- this made our visit super convenient since we were without a car.

We scored a room with exposed brick and with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The pillows and duvet were filled with Canadian goose down and I'm seriously considering assaulting some geese back home if it means I can get this sort of comfort. I went to sleep quickly and soundly each night

I'm not sure that we had climate control in the room so we had to make do with just the one temp: warm- which is not entirely bad considering that it was 0 degrees outside.

The complimentary full breakfast was fantastic, the free wifi was awesome, and I seriously wanted to take the bed, duvet, and pillow home with me.

What a nice hotel in the heart of Old Port, Quebec City.  I've been here for one night and had the greatest sleep.

The breakfast was delicious and complimentary, as in included in our Spring Fever package.

The room is very nice.  Not with the exposed brick but its quite large, with 12-15ft ceilings.  Its appointment is fairly basic but there are 2 tvs and since itsa suite there is a kitchen sink and dining set as well.  Its pretty nice and charming.  Especially with the very large windows letting in lots of natural light.

And of course the bathroom.. is quite nice.  Clean, comfortable, and modern even if other parts of the room are not.  there's also a jacuzzi tub..  nice :)
The floors are all hardwood and colourd are simple.

Its my first time in Quebec city.

    Cheers.

I've stayed at the Frontenac and it's all well and good over there, but a bit too stuffy for this kid. My choice for great accommodations in QC is the Saint Pierre, by far.

I first stayed here about six years ago with my family and was instantly impressed by this small hotel. there are 30+ rooms in a converted office building. The St. Pierre has occupied the space for about ten years and they renovated the space very nicely. Rooms are appointed nicely with hardwood floors and comfortable furniture( especially if you can get into one of the full or half suites). Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are good too, and the climate control is done by remote control and makes you feel like a bad ass ("Look! I can set the room at 72 with a remote! I rule!")(Although, more about this anon.). Rooms also come with digital clocks with CD players, a really nice touch. Maybe I'm just easily impressed.

Amenities at the hotel include a good concierge desk and a very good dining room. Most room stays include breakfast in the package and the dining room does a tasteful, if sometimes minimalist, meal. The morning waiters are a hoot, especially if you tip them well during your stay: they'll literally do anything for you. Valet parking is also de rigeur for those driving and well managed, though expensive.

I've only had one real issue at the Saint Pierre. A room we ordered was nice, but the heater was in another room! The room across the hall! And the DO NOT DISTURB was up with no answer at the door. I don't get that. How does a room have a climate control in another room? Anyway, the desk was a pain in the ass about moving our room, but we finally won out with the manager. Other than this, service at the desk has always been friendly and reliable.

The best thing about the Saint Pierre is the location in Basse Ville, literally steps away from the Musee de la Civilization, kick-ass restaurants and rue Petit-Champlain/rue St. Paul shopping. A stay here literally puts you right in the thick of it.

The Saint Pierre is not perfect, but it comes damn close and is good value for the money. I would recommend avoiding the big hotels and try a stay here.  4.499999999 stars and two eggs over easy.

We've just returned from our honeymoon in Quebec.  My husband &  I selected this hotel based on very little information . . . It was just perfect!  Our suite was charming, cozy and comfortable!  We were so very pleased!  The Staff was excellent and service was good.  This hotel is well situated in the Old Port area; close to everything.  The area is historical and absolutely beautiful and romantic!  Splendid for a honeymoon or a special weekend / holiday.

History

Established in 1997

Le Saint-Pierre is established in the historical building that housed in 1821 the first insurance company in Canada, the prestigious Québec Fire Insurance Company. At this time, Saint-Pierre Street was considered as the "Wall Street of Québec City". One of the first boutique hotels in Canada, Le Saint-Pierre opened its doors in 1997. The property first offered 33 rooms but with the years, 8 extra units were added, for a current total of 41.
