Le shack was a nice restaurant at the south side base. The food was pretty good and the wait staff was friendly. I ordered the Escargot and a croque monsieur, both items were delicious.
The place itself is pretty cozy, the chairs are very homey and not realizing the part you sit on was a straw I thought I was going to break the chair when I initially sat down. The fake trees in the middle of the place are kind of odd. I guess they were going for a rustic lodge feel, but all they did was block the tv at the bar.
All in all I like the food enough that if I came back to Tremblant I would have to make a stop here. -

3-stars are mainly for Le Shack's location and the good fries. Le Shack (a great name by the way!) is located at the base of Tremblant- since my visit was in the summer, we sat on the terrace that overlooked a concert stage and was great for people watching. You can look down at the village streets and storefronts. The inside bar/dining area was decorated with what looked like fake trees, which was a nice touch to the natural setting of Tremblant.
The food is ok- the chicken club had all white meat and generous portions of crispy hand cut fries, which were delicious. Beverages tasted a little off- my Diet Coke was a little bitter tasting. Definitely not gourmet but ok if you are visiting and need a quick bite to eat. From my perch here, I spotted a stand just down the slope that sold beavertails- fried dough- for dessert :) -

Food was mediocre, prices are high, service was terrible. This was compounded by the chain-smoking idiots that surrounded us...not the restaurants fault, but it's 2011...how about some "No Smoking" seating? Bottom line, there are other places to get a bite to eat.

Good après-ski people watching windows steps from the slopes. It's an ok burger; I got the one with goat cheese; it's probably frozen and the guacamole definitely is but I do not like walking in ski boots and it's neat to be near all the action. Not too sure about the wooden ducks flying around the fake trees but that's part of the charm.

If you want efficient service with solid food, this is your place. The only drawback is there are way too many TVs in there, which is really distracting. They bill themselves as a sports bar, but hey, when there are no games on and it's a Saturday night, why not just give it a rest rather than play re-runs of old hockey games?

This bar looks onto the funnel at the bottom of the south side of Tremblant, where all the runs converge. It's great for watching people fall while you drink and drinking is about all I would do here. The place stinks like fried food and, when you look at the menu, you'll see that it's not cheap fried food. Mediocre burgers straight outta the freezer still cost $15+. My advice is to get a table at the mountain view side and order Caesar after Caesar - I'm not talking salads here. If you can't get a table at the window, just leave. There is no point in staying here otherwise unless you like the atmosphere of sports bars. Laugh at the spills, convince yourself that you're being healthy because you're drinking vegetables and you'll do alright.
