Review from Eston L.
Okay my boyfriend and I are arguing over 3 vs. 4 stars.... We shared the 3 course fondue with the beef option. We also ordered half a bottle of wine each - quickly gets expensive, but without the wine it would have been affordable ($40 each).
The cheese fondue was very good; we both really enjoyed the way the bread was not too soft and affixed well to the fondue fork. The beef was tasty and the broth flavorful. However, I found the accompanying sauces boring, while my boyfriend enjoyed the variety and unique complements the sauces brought to the cooked meat.
While the chocolate portion was a bit odd and the selection of fruit somewhat misplaced, the melted chocolate worked well with the bananas and strawberries. The pineapple, grapes and pear could have easily been replaced with better-paired fruit and perhaps larger marshmallows and (dare we suggest) cookies!
The staff was very friendly, knowledgable, and appropriately chatty. Food arrived fast and was hot, sometimes too hot since our bread basket caught on fire! No joke!
Overall, we would recommend this place. It's a touch expensive given the dining experience (paper napkins?!), but for French fare over the supper hour it is not exceptionally higher than other adjacent options.
3.5 stars! -

One of the worst meals of my life.
Soggy, formerly frozen veggies chucked in with some mozzarella, wrapped in rubbery carb, followed by unripe strawberries hanging out completely by themselves inside a desert crepe.
I was devastated for days by the time, money and calories I wasted here. -

After reading all the bad reviews on Yelp I went here for supper with my friend. The service was fast and very friendly. We ordered the smoked salmon crepes and a 1/2 litre of cider.
The cider arrived almost immediately, and was very dry and tasty. Within fifteen minutes our food was on the table. The crepes, filled with cheese and sauce and smothered in smoked salmon were delicious.
All around us the food was being served speedily and hot. I don't know where the bad reviews came from. I will be returning to Quebec City for future visits. Le Petit Chateau will be on my visit list.
Good job! -

I should have suspected it would be meh based on its location right next to Château Frontenac...
Breakfast was just boring. It was acceptable, but somehow I think I found the failing Denny's of 18th-century Quebéc City. Crêpes were not even as good as I can make and I'm from Ohio.
Find somewhere more off the beaten path, you can only do better. -

For someone as price conscious -- or is it poverty stricken-- as I (I rinse out my Ziploc bags and reuse them), I'm surprised at the complaints about the cost of this place. I had a cheese-egg-bacon crepe and a cafe au lait, but I didn't think the bill came to such a high total. You definitely pay for the location, but it didn't exude touristy or anything at all to me. The people were standard Quebecois, so I didn't take it as a personal affront if they had a slight French snootiness to their English pronunciation. Overall I thought it was a good breakfast with a nice setting and interesting selection of crepes to be ordered.

How is this place still in business? My husband and I went there yesterday for lunch hoping for one last great crepe before leaving Quebec. He ordered the cheese and ham crepe. I ordered the mushroom in a white sauce. His was dry, and utterly unappealing. It looked like rubber and stuck to the plate. Come on people - you call yourselves a creperie? He wanted to give it one star but since mine was deserving of three, I gave it two. My advice - do not order the cheese crepes. I think my 12 year old niece could have done a better job!

Come on people, get a life! This is a breakfast place, and as such it rings my bell. The crepes, however, bear as much resemblance to a decent French crepe as a wool blanket bears to a silk sheet. As for the fondue, anyone who still thinks fondue is a thrilling gourmet experience probably deserves what he or she gets. But for breakfast, almost as good as they get and friendly service.

We went here and we felt that the food and service were better than Previous reviews. J had fondue and thought it was tasty. I had a sausage pizza crepe and thought it was good as well.

My wife and I had the Trio Fondue and a liter carafe of their white house wine. There was not enough cheese in the fondue nor was their enough Kirsch and wine in it.
The beef fondue was OK but the problem was that the broth did not arrive from the kitchen hot enough and it took almost to the end before we got the broth to bubble. The chocolate fondue was Mickey mouse and we were unable to get the chocolate to heat up properly.
The house wine was terrible weak and watery - was it watered down?
The waiter was overworked and it showed in the service.......once he said he had to go before we could finish asking questions...a bit rude.
Do not recommend this place for $120 a couple without drinks -

Like most places in Quebec City the prices are a bit high but here you can walk away spending just over $10/person if you stick with the crepes. When my girlfriend and I went we both ordered crepes. They were bland but certainly nothing offensive. I ordered La Québécois which was cheese eggs and bacon. The crepe was a bit bland and the the bacon was almost non existent. It provided neither the greasyness nor the saltyness one expects from bacon. My girlfriend ordered La Duplessi which was the ham and cheese crepe which she seemed to enjoy quite a bit. She tasted both and said hers was better though I can only assume her crepe too was on the bland side. Though the staff was pleasant and more than willing to assist none Francophones overall the experience was underwhelming; with bland food.

We were out walking the streets of Quebec and see this place smack in middle of everything. We feel this has to be the best place to get a good crepe so we got a sweet one with Strawberries thinking we can't go wrong with this one. Oh so wrong were we !! What we got was a rubbery tortilla with just few Strawberries thrown in. If it at least had some chocolate syrup, whipped cream etc. it would have been palatable at least but the way it was given, it was simply in-edible !! We get better crepes then that he in New Hempshire !! I would suggest to stay away !!
