Review from Loli L.
We arrived to this wonderful city rather late and wandered around on foot looking for a warm place to enjoy a drink. Luckily, we stumbled upon the Pape Georges. The wonderfully cheery bartender and the equally friendly chaps at the bar made us feel quickly and happily at home - despite our abysmal French.
A second night's visit secured our love after a plate of 3 frommages (so many great cheeses to choose from!) and handful of beers, some excellent live music and some great conversation. BTW: After trying all the Boreal beers on tap we've concluded that they're all fantastic.
The back room has some nice couches but I prefer the front room because you experience more of the entertainment- plus you can still see the tv through the arch (if you absolutely must).Listed in: Happy times in Quebec

What a fun little place to spend a couple of hours in Quebec. This is small - and ancient. The wines are excellent and the charcuterie is a nice little addition to the activity.
The service was friendly and inviting. We enjoyed some blues music for an evening which was nice. -
Review from Alison D.
This is one of my new all time favorite places to go. Too bad I live hundreds of miles away from it. At least I got to go twice during my weekend in Quebec.
Reception in my hotel recommended it as nice place to go for a good selection of beer, wine and cheese and they were totally right. To enter, you walk down a few steps and voila, it's like you are in a cave in Europe or something. They do lots of live music, but we were too early to hear any of that.
In addition to sampling many of the beers, we got the $20 cheese platter that included a few local cheeses and some other stuff too.
Since it was so cold in February when I was in Quebec it was nice to stop in here to warm up in this lovely little place! -

This place is so warm and cozy. Great place for a light bite, a drink and live music. Great place to chill friends. Service is friendly.

Québec, QC
After trooping all over QC on a humid day, we found our way past all the schmaltzy "Italian" joints and other over-priced eateries to find this place. All we wanted was a fairly simple but authentic French-Canadian nosh, the cheese and charcuterie plates looked ideal. We were a little worried that what we wanted to ordered would still be insufficient, but the waitress (despite being new there) assured us it would be good - and it did not disappoint. A sample of 3 cheeses and 3 meats went down great with a glass of Boreal (pretty much all of their brews available), the key was getting 3 very different cheeses. We weren't too familiar with them by name, but one Blueish, one Okaish, and one more like a Swiss Gruyere made for a great mix. The Pate, which I don't recall having since I was a kid (and not liking) was also very tasty. Glad we found this gem amidst all the fluff, I think we were the only non-locals on the patio!
