Vietnamese restaurants are like a**holes: everyone's got one.
and this one happens to be mine!! but its soooooo good.

one of the fresher, 'lighter' pho places around. not super greasy.
staff is super friendly. the decor is Pho without being too much.
the typical vietnamese restaurants tend to lean towards 'street credit': sub-standard decor, cracked tiles, funky smell, dirty walls etc etc.
Le Do manages a super clean and maintained interior with only a dirty awning to let you know the broth is legit.

try the green papaya salad and the sandwiches. bread is always fresh and when he runs out, he runs out. rolls are super, all of them.

not much more i can say, great all around. my favorite place to go and it feels great when you blow by the hipsters lined out the door at red wagon and slide almost immediately into a hot bowl of Pho.
*not a dig on red wagon, that place is legit too.

I came here on a rainy day with my ever so "helpful" significant other who always goes out of his way to satisfy my food cravings. Not sure if he secretly has a fetish for bigger girls (which I am quite on the contrary), but he seems to really enjoy watching me eat. It was one of these Bun Bo Hue craving days and he brought me here. He said this hole in the wall has some good pho to the point even our picky Yelper Johnson C. raves about it.

We ordered a pork ham Viet sub and it was alright. The bread was a tad on the soggy and doughy side but no big deal. The pickled carrot and daikon were refreshing.

The BBH was not bad. I wouldn't say it's the best but certain way better than Hoi An Cafe on Victoria Drive. The broth was hot when it arrived. The broth smelled and tasted right but I found it very salty. I was very happy there was no shrimpy or fishy smell to my broth. Beef slices were tender and fresh. This was definitely the highlight. There was no pork knuckle or pork blood to be found. The noodles were round and a tad skinny. They weren't soggy so that's good.

I have yet to find out what the raving is about and I honestly think what I ordered was just alright. I guess I'll have to come back and give this place another chance before I can finalize my like/or dislike.

I mainly come here for my Banh Mi fix. Their subs are great and both the pork and the chicken sandwiches are tasty.

The prices are great, $3 for a sandwich is impossible to beat!

Le Do is doing what good Vietnamese places do right-great pho and other classic Vietnamese dishes at a great price. The seating is tight inside but the table turn over is pretty good so you wont wait long and it's also closed on Wednesday's and cash only.

On my visit I was still craving pho from not filling my craving at Phnom Penh I was eager for a bowl here and I also went with some prawn salad rolls with pork but I've also been told the Banh Mi's are really good.

The salad rolls were $5.50 for 2 large rolls cut in half, the filling was roasted pork, shrimp, vermicelli and shredded lettuce and cucumbers. The pork was nice and sliced really thin, they served here with a bowl of hoisin, sriracha and peanuts that you stir all together for dipping.

This is my favourite type of pho-rare beef with beef ball, I don't like tendons and tripe so this hits the spot quite nicely. The broth here has a great depth of flavor and isn't heavy or to MSG laden, the noodles were cooked perfectly and for $5.95 for the medium size you can't go wrong with that deal. The broth was also piping hot which is really important when your dealing with rare beef.

I'd say so far this and the pho place at the end of Robson that I posted about here have the best bowls of soup I've had so far and should not be missed if you find yourself in the Hastings and Nanimo area of Vancouver.

This is my Sunday morning hangover cure. The pho broth is delicate but well balanced, the papaya salad with prawns is refreshing, the bahn mi have lovely fillings tucked inside super fresh bread and the spring rolls are insanely addictive. After forcing myself to venture beyond the usual suspects, I found my new favourite - the beef stew. The broth is rich and hearty, yet doesn't overwhelm the subtle Vietnamese flavourings.

The atmosphere does leave something to be desired - the place is pretty sparse-looking and your meal is often accompanied by an annoying buzzing sound (I can never figure out where it's coming from!)...but isn't that part of the charm of eating pho on a rainy Sunday?

Best of all, although this place is consistently busy, we've never had to wait for a table - tell THAT to the hipsters lining up around the block to get into Red Wagon next door!

We love Le Do - the food is good and the service is fast.  It doesn't score many points in the ambiance department, but holding off on a much needed paint job probably helps in keeping the prices low.

The Pho is not too spectacular. The soup base is a little bland and the amount of things they put into the pho is not too generous. I ordered a drink with my meal but it never came and in the end, they still charged me for the drink. Overall service and Pho is OK. Maybe i will try some of their rice specials next time

I have to give props to this restaurant, and also props to the Yelp application on my Android phone for luring/leading me to this fine establishment. Along Hastings there are many Vietnamese restaurants, and by habit people will always end up at the same place, not me, and I am glad I entered this little "hole in the wall" type restaurant.

Just from the outside alone, you know what you are getting with the decor inside, basic and simple. Nothing fancy, this place is your typical bare bones minimum, with plain-jane chairs and tables. But when you enter, you get a good sniff in the air of the broth that is boiling in the back room.

The menu is very vast, and the one thing that I found interesting out of all else is to be able to pick the size of dish, for the other dishes. I'm not tallking about the regular pho... where you have large or small, I'm talking about everything else, from the dry vermicelli bowls, to the rice dishes, they actually have a smaller order, good for us who want it, but sometimes cannot finish a regular order at other restaurants. Being able to order a smaller portion of one thing makes me able to sometimes order a side of something else.

The pho in this place is a definite treat. The noodles are cooked just right, and the broth, is exactly what you smell coming in the door, with a hint of sweet, and the salty from the beef used to cook this magical taste, you will not be disappointed. After my first experience, I have come back to try other things here, like the spring rolls, and rice dishes, and do not be fooled by size, cause once the food gets in your stomach, it expands, and it is a great feeling sometimes, with the food served at Le Do.

The prices are what you expect, cheap, for what you get, a great deal, they only take cash, like most places... but a $10 bill will get you fed up in no time. One of the gems of the Hastings block, so if you have not gone, and you live near, then go and be surprised.

BEST PHO IN TOWN.  HANDS DOWN.

This place is a bit of a drive from my place but for pho, there's no where else I'd rather go.  I compare and critique all other restaurants pho to Le Do's.

The broth in the pho is the clearest yet most flavourful I've yet to have.  Large portions, perfectly cooked noodles, nice fresh basil and crunchy sprouts, cilantro and green onions to top it off.

Try the pho once and you'll be hooked.

The spring rolls are also amazingly good.  Spring rolls are deep fried and most I've had are either too greasy or almost too crunchy and hard.  Le Do's spring rolls are delicious yet light and fluffy.  A must have accompaniment.

The restaurant is very clean and service is prompt, efficient and friendly.  Prices are, of course, very reasonable.

Can get very busy during peak times with a line up at the door, but the turnover is usually very quick, it's definitely worth the wait.

I've been here many times,  pretty much have tried everything on the menu and have yet to see any talking cockaroaches run across my table .

The food is good - particularly the Pho. Its rich in flavor with chopped onions and basil.  I also like the meatball sandwich, chicken congee (delicious), a few of the vermicelli dishes, and the salad roll (good size, different, and fresh) .

Just be wary if u have the pho, when u leave u will be walkin around smellin like the meal u just had.

    First time there.

I had rare beef pho and my girlfriend had well done flank.  My beef was average, her flank was really tasty.

Fresh juicy lime and tons of basil.  So many places don't give enough basil.

The noodles were done perfectly and the broth was tasty and not too salty or greasy.

It came topped with cilantro and white onion, delicious!

There's only one reason I come here and that's for Bun Bo Hue (beef and pig's knuckle rice vermicelli spicy soup). My second favorite Vietnamese dish as I love eating spicy. And this place hands down makes the best spicy broth.

Like everyone mentions, no its not fancy, but its got great food. I've actually never tried anything else but the Bun Bo Hue, its what Le Do is known for. I try to look over the menu to try something else but meeeehhhh I gotta have the spicy broth whenever I'm here.

PRICE: Affordable, there's not many Vietnamese restaurants that aren't no?

SERVICE: Great, waitresses are quick, friendly and attentive. There's lots of seating and plenty of parking on Hastings or the side road.

SUGGEST: Three words. Bun. Bo. Hue. I used to eat large but I can only do small now :( boo. Its even better to come here on a chilly day, that spicy broth will kill any cold. OH the ice coffee here is pretty good too.

This is the undefeated champion of my Pho heart in Vancouver.

I Love Pho. I really really love Pho. I could eat it everyday for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I always order the same thing so I'm not sure what the other menu items are like but the Spicy Beef Pho (#26 I think) accompanied by and order of spring rolls and a lovely sweet Vietnamese coffee that will send shock waves down your spine. There is nothing better!
The spice is perfect and does not mask the flavor of the broth but works with it. I especially love the chicken balls, they are not those cheap ones that have the texture of petrified gum but are soft and flavorful.

I choose this as my favourite of the cheap Vietnamese Pho restaurants.
Not fancy at all, but good broth and a good selection of lots of other interesting menu items. I usually end up ordering way too much, but am always satisfied. More than just pho. Their grilled pork, spring rolls and other options are all good, and the prices are awesome.

I ordered #1 "special pho" in medium size. The rice noodles were in thin type, and not overly soft but a little chewy, which is what I like. The portion was big enough to fill me up. Soup base was in a balanced sweet and salty beef taste, less MSG than many other places (but still a little). Good that spring roll (Vietnamese style) can be ordered per piece, and it tasted quite good too.

The down side is, choices on the menu are a bit limited, such as there are no deep fried chicken wings and no pho in the famous hot and spicy soup. I'd give a 4 star if there is more variety.

Le Do's pho has a very clear, yet very flavourful broth.  The condiments (basil, bean sprouts, and lime) are very fresh, and they give a generous amount.  The pho itself has cilantro and onions to add additional flavour, and there are plenty of additional flavourings like pickled chilis, various sauces, etc. tableside.  My only "beef" is that the rare beef isn't rare.  It comes pre-cooked.  I really like getting close to raw beef and then cooking it in the soup.  I must say they give a generous portion of beef in the pho though.  Overall for the area this is the best pho available.  If it were located on the strip of Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsway it could hold its own with some of the better offerings there.

Average meal -- especially in a city with so many Vietnamese restaurants. Pho was bland and uninspired. Vermicelli was tasty and filling. The one highlight was the papaya and beef jerky salad, which was very memorable and distinctive. You won't go home hungry from here -- and your wallet won't take a beating.

After hearing about this place from several different sources I thought I'd take the plunge and finally try it out.
Went there tonight with the fiance and was looking forward to something new and tasty. I ordered the Pho # 1 (their special combo; usual rare beef, tripe, tendon, meatball) and an order of cha gio. We tried to get the banh mi but they said it was sold out...gotta come back and try them out. My lady ordered the pork chop combo with egg pie and fried egg on broken rice. To drink we had the iced coffee w/ condensed milk and a lime soda.
The meal was served very promptly and was very fresh. the pork bone soup that came with the rice dish was great !! The soup base for the pho was a bit salty and maybe had a bit too much MSG in it. This could be as we went late in the evening so the soup base might have reduced down a bit. The pork chop was a bit on the skimpy side. It was one piece that was like a quarter inch thick. The flavor was just regular but the egg pie was tasty ! Spring rolls were crispy and tasty. Not fantastic, but yummy none the less. The highlight was the iced coffee..... WOW !! I'd come back for take out on the coffee....seriously really rich and not too sweet. The lime soda was typical but they actually gave you the whole can of soda ... BONUS !!!
All in all a decent experience. Good times, great service and looking forward to coming back to try the dry noodle and banh mi.

Le Do is a family run restaurant that is clean and affordable. The owner, Mr. Long and his wife, along with their friendly staff offer Vietnamese Pho that is the best in Vancouver.  You will enjoy other food on the Menu too, such as Spring Rolls.  The portions are also pretty decent.  Come hungry!
