I'm fairly surprised to see so many bad reviews for this location. I love it, myself, though I would never buy anything at regular price because I'm not sure they're really worth that. Still, I love how I can always find classically elegant pieces in here that don't bend to the latest trends. When all the other shops are sporting identical clothes, this is a welcome port in a storm.
I have also always received extremely helpful and friendly service from the staff. They're attentive, knowledgeable about their stock and unlike some shops in the Spring Garden area, don't make me feel like I'm an intruder or not rich/stylish enough to be shopping there.
I also love that their clothes are cut for women who actually have curves. The same can't be said for a lot of chains that cater to tweens/women with bodies like tweens. I like that they flaunt said curves as well, as compared to some shops geared at an older demographic that are more subdued.

I don't shop here often, (and have only ever bought sale pieces) but I've always had a good experience.

Le Chateau, who are you trying to fool. Boutique style pricing for low quality garments is not the way to a girl's heart.

My frustrations with the Canadian chain are aligned at this Spring Garden location. Its wannabe urbane aesthetic seems nothing more than a cheap ploy to cash in on the downtown surroundings of boutiques and deep pocket spenders.

Le Chateau seems to have gotten lost along the way. Charging $75 for a light top of low grade quality is unacceptable. It isn't unusual for garments to fall apart after purchase. I realize they are trying to appeal to a certain market, but if I'm going to shell out some coin, I'll expect to get what I pay for.  The store just doesn't add up in terms of quality and cost.

Its style is ultra trendy and may tend to attract club goers and those who like to dress up. I find this shop tries really hard to provide an upscale look, but at the end of the day, it runs on a marketing angle. I used to buy hoodies here in junior high when 'skater girl' was in.

I think that Le Chateau needs to step off their high horse and get real. For these kinds of prices, I'll check myself into a neat boutique and rest assure of better quality.

Ah, i'm almost tempted to give Le Chateau a better rating for nostalgia alone. I remember the days when you could head to this hallmark shop with your babysitting money hot in hand and buy a top to wear to the school dance for as little as $10. Gone are those days.

Shoddy workmanship is still evident in the clothes though so at least some things never change. Nothing like a good 50/50 rayon/poly blend to really set yah back?  I'm not entirely convinced that the style of these clothes has changed at all in 10 years either. Get with the times, Le Chateau.

Overall, an 'ok' place to head for accessories but you can get a lot more for the same amount of money (in blends like cotton and wool, oh my!) at other spots around this fair city.

This particular Le Chateau sets itself apart from other stores in the same chain, and not in a good way. The inventory is the same flashy, shiny, studded, glitzed fashion that fills up Le Chateau outlet stores everywhere. It's all a little bit overwhelming, and combined with the over eager store clerks greeting me repeatedly in the tiny store it can get pretty annoying.

That being said I have bought things at this store before, a pair of read leather gloves when I was cold on Spring Garden, and a pair of earrings when I realized I forgot to put some on. These purchases were essential and I stand firm on my policy to not browse here regularly.

Most of the clothes are ridiculously priced for the quality of the garments. There is no reason why a skimpy cocktail dress what will get a pick in it the first time it's worn should cost nearly $200. The thing that really irks me is the lack of any sale selection, probably because the store is much smaller than the retailers in the mall.

Hot Hints: One thing that the Le Chateau Spring Garden location can do is shoes. They were the only Le Chateau location to carry my size in a pair of Lt. Brown winter boots.

Some Le Chateau locations have great staff! And others do not. This is the one that does not.

The staff are sometimes friendly and do know how to say hello when you walk in. I rarely see smiles but none of this pales in comparison to the cardinal sin that I cannot believe they break at this store. The sin I speak of is the ultimate one when you are working in the retail industry. The staff at this Le Chateau compliment you no matter what clothes of theirs you are trying on. If it looks hideous or great on you, it doesn't matter. They will compliment you no matter what. They basically say what you want to hear and not what you should hear. Sometimes I do enjoy mindless compliments because I am feeling insecure. But not when I am thinking of spending $100 on a jacket that looks ridiculous on me.

As for the clothes, no matter what store you get them from, they are all very poor quality. If they don't fall off due to bad stitching, they aren't machine washable. As far as the fashion of the clothes go, well they look great! But I can get the same style or make the same style by going to a few other stores and do it for half the price that they charge you at Le Chateau.

The good side is this store is on Spring Garden Road which is right downtown. So if you want a great looking shirt, have money to waist and don't care that it will either fall apart after a few months, shrink in the dryer or have to be taken to dry cleaning, Le Chateau is definitely an option.

If you read my reviews, you know I feel bad, most of the time, if I rate a store two stars. I also do not rate a store two stars very often. So you know I'm serious when I do. Le Chateau just doesn't cut it for me. Once in a blue moon I will buy something from there just because it is convenient. But 99% of the time I will go elsewhere whether it is convenient or not.

Le Chateau, Oh My. What to say. The previous two reviews tell the truth about this store, and I have to agree.

This store carries the trends for the moment, literally, you will not be able to get through any longer. I call these Disposable Clothes!

Like it for the moment, but keep in mind, do not trust all that is said , when the sales staff says, "That looks Great" and in your head you are saying "Really, I think I look like a Giant Peach" Go with your gut feeling! You do look like a peach, move on to the next best outfit.

Le Chateau I must say I do go there for their jewelry and that is really about it. They do have some funky costume jewelry for that special occasion.

The Spring Garden road location is geared towards men more then the Halifax shopping centre which has nothing for men. MMM is a men's location as well.

As for the ladies selection I do actually like some of the trends and I find they are up to date with the latest fashions. Now with regards to the sizing I am not sure who can fit into these but my niece goes and she is 11 so there you go. As well for the quality of the cloths like others reviewed the prices I do find expensive.

I spent the better part of my high school days slinging merch at the Le Chateau in Mic Mac Mall. Ah yes, the good old days of 2000 - when the quality was as questionable as it is today, but the prices matched the shoddy craftsmanship.

The Spring Garden Road location has my thinker working overtime. I mean, there are some pieces that warrant a little respect, but at the same time the entire shop is overloaded with a ridiculous amount of merchandise. Each piece is screaming for attention, laden with gratuitous buckles, puckers and zips - not allowing for any one item to really draw the eye. There is too much happening and it gives me a headache.

In the same vein, the prices have shot through the roof while the cheap materials and poor assembly used to manufacture the wares has remained the same. It seems like the designers can't decide on any one element when drafting up pieces, so they often just go with all of them at the same time, cheapening the look altogether.

This location has some nice staff members. I've encountered a few sweet helpful people, offering up assistance while decked to the nines in the current Chateau line. I've also picked up a couple of pieces of sexy over the top discounted jewelry, which is something that Le Chateau does well.

I'm griping, but I suppose in reality I have nothing invested in this shop. I like to peruse whenever I'm cruising the strip, but usually just to gawk at the foolish fashions and altogether ludicrous price tags.

Summary of assertions: Too flashy. Low quality. High prices. Fun/funny to peruse.
