It's strange to how I came upon this store but it was highly recommended by my cousin. I live really close to the store and never knew what it was until I stepped in. It's a hunting store of all brands of choice.
My cousin and I have been searching for a good winter coat and we came down to Canada Goose. I'm sure all Canadians know what I'm talking about. If not, it's a really expensive coat with real fur and goose down. The warmest coat owned so far!
Service is impeccable! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they make sure your not leaving with a product that's not suitable. They offered us a $10 membership card which gave us a 10% discount on all items. We both ended up saving. We left with 2 coats spending less than $1000, which was a deal. Anytime, I needed outdoor equipment or gear, this was the place to be. I bought a pair of winter gloves that kept me warm and it was thin compared to competitors. It was just $20 compared to buying multiple cheap wool gloves that lasted forever (good for winter driving). You'll find lots of interesting items, that can't be found in retail stores.
If you visit their website, you'll fine some great deals. I've compared them to "Sportchek", "Sporting Life" and "East Coast Mountain" (now called Atmosphere). Price is sometimes cheaper and the quality is BETTER than franchise sports retail.
Already, I'm looking forward to getting some new camping gear here. -

Products carried, fishing, camping, hunting equipment. Staff are attentive, prices on some products are really good, some not quite. I went there on several occasions & the aforementioned has been consistent throughout.
Their new guns are marked up quite a bit but other than that they do carry a very large line of guns from different manufactures. If you ask them if they have any army surplus guns they just might, because last time I asked that question they had 3 Mosin Nagants in the back ( Russian WW2 rifles) @ a price so low I could not refuse. I picked up 2 (dated 1937 & 1944) @ $80 dollars each & was greatly satisfied with such a nostalgic & historical items that also shot straight & true.
If you are looking for outdoor equipment @ decent prices have a look around. If you seek strange or old guns definitely visit the guys at the back room. -

From the outside, La Baron looks like a high end outdoor store. I've passed by this store hundreds of times and it never occurred to me to check it out. Well as they say, never judge a book by its cover, because this store is pretty awesome, and best of all it's reasonably priced!!
I came in here looking for a pair of hiking boots. Having searched extensively online, it was more of a hail mary look than anything. Well surprisingly there were a half decent clearance section and I was able to get a pair of high top Columbia hiking boots for $40! They have a good selection of camping, fishing, hunting and backpacking wear, as well as outdoor clothing (i.e. jackets).
I'm going to have to go back to look for a windbreaker/waterproof jacket, and other little essentials. Definitely worth a visit. They have other locations in addition to the Markham one. Check out their website.
