I usually for some odd reason don't write reviews outside my home base of London, but I can't help but thank my fellow Yelpers of Paris for sending me to Le Barav.  It was a highlight of my visit to Paris.
The place was HOPPING on a Tuesday eve.  Luckily I was a solo diner so they were able to accommodate me but I recommend booking well in advance.  The two guys that were at the bar (maybe the owners?) were nothing short of the warmest and most attentive hosts with great smiles and passion for service.  I loved them.
They take their boutique wines very seriously and I had the four red wines that they were serving that night by the glass well-explained to me in English.
I had a raw courgette plate which was nothing special for 10 Euros although the sun-dried tomatoes on it were extraordinary.  The creme brule was nothing to write home about and the top was a bit burnt.
This place gets 10 stars for service and atmosphere.  I'd be here every week if I lived in Paris.  Le Barav, je t'aime!

I'm going all-out and giving this place the big 5.

I'll admit it - I like to feel cool from time to time. I like to go to the place that all the other cool kids are going to. And I (obviously) like to tell other people where the cool kids are hanging out. Le Barav is where the relaxed, not too overly-affected, and well-aged (but not old!) hipsters spend their evenings. I felt welcome and like I fit in, as opposed to feeling old and frumpy as can sometimes occur if I end up in a bar in Oberkampf.

This lovely wine bar is situated in the triangular haven of hipness that also houses the likes of Mary (for your gelato eating pleasure), Merce and the Muse (for your coffee drinking pleasure), and Café Creme (for your brunching pleasure). Still in the Marais, but far enough off the beaten path, this area take you out of tourist-ville and lets you feel like you've found yourself a small, secluded gem of a place. The staff knows their wines and what's "on tap" that day. If you don't know your French wines that well, fess up and let them choose for you. They'll do right by you.

I love Le Barav. It is my wine bar of choice in Paris. The wines are always delicious and interesting and the people working will give you great information about it in French or English. One thing I will say, make a reservation. It has become quite the hot spot, and for good reason. The food isn't out of this world, but its really good. I love a good meat and cheese plate with my wine and they really deliver. The sardines are also really great. Definitely make it a priority to stop by if you're in Paris.

Le barav was bookmarked for my recent days in Paris it was recommended by a few people so i felt like it was worth a walk. After short walk from my apartment i found myself tucked away what could possibly be my favorite wine bar in the city.
You will definitely  need reservations for a table if you come on a friday. We arrived and were seated at the bar. You have the option to buy a bottle from the wine shop and pay a 5 euro corkage fee or order by the glass. we chose the glass option and we not disappointed . 5 options in red and white i chose to start with a Boudreaux. I mean you cant go wrong with a Boudreaux . I also tried a Rouge Sancerre which i have never had. For food we ordered antipasti plate which came with roasted /grilled eggplant, tomatoes, peppers and zucchini, it would be sac-reglious to eat in France and not have cheese so we also opted for cheese and meat plate. It was more than enough food for the two of us. 3 glasses of wine later i was not wanting my meal to end. Ive decided that in Philly my favorite wine bar will remain Tria but here in Paris its without a doubt Le Barav.

Great wine place. You can get different planchettes to eat typical finger food with your wine or you can even get some real dishes. Really great ambiance even during the week. Choose your bottle bring it to the bar and they open it for you. Or you can  try a glass of the wine selections of the day. Had a St Emilion. Awesome!

Le Barav is a lovely wine bar tucked away from the busy République area. It always a terrific variety of wines available for tasting, making it a cozy spot to linger over a glass.
