Review from Todd V.
Toronto, ON
You'd think with having one of the largest and best liquor stores in Toronto an eager crawl away, this LCBO would be doomed to fail. Actually, it fits its purpose, and its purpose is to satisfy the lazy.
When you're on your way out of the Queens Quay Loblaws (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) burdened with a basket full of groceries and realize that you're out of wine/beer/spirits for whatever it is your making or whoever it is you're feeding, the thought of another stop to satisfy the bare essentials is about as inviting as having the shopping cart behind you collide with and mangle you ankle. Having this small, unassuming liquor store available makes it all the easier. They have a small assortment of many wines, spirits, and beers (some cooled). That said, depending upon the day, they can come up with some really interesting wines for a store of this small stature.
The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about their stock. Tell them the types of food that you're trying to match and they'll sort you out quickly. So unless you're really in need of something along the lines of a $75 bottle of Beaujolais or a four-figure bottle of single malt, you can pretty much wheel in, grab what you need, and wheel out before you can say "Dammit, I forgot the merlot again."
