Review from Andrea H.
Someone at the parkdale LCBO has recently discovered that people buy beer on the weekends! And therefore the shelves should be stocked with beer! Yes!
While it was always amusing to come in on a Friday evening and find the shelves almost bare - thus forcing me to try new things, as the remaining selection tended to boil down to Coors light or something obscure and Polish - there is something to be said for the new and unanticipated experience of walking in and finding THE ACTUAL BEER I WAS LOOKING FOR .
Selection at this small store is ok. If you want anything other than the basics, Liberty Village or King and Spadina are better bets. I've never asked the staff any questions (it's not really that kind of store - you go in already knowing what you're looking for) so I can't comment on how well they know the product. The store gets crowded, but the staff are efficient and good-humoured. -

this LCBO sucks. sure it's open late but who cares when you can never find what you are looking for and get harassed by bums outside asking for change/beer/change/vodka/change for vodka/etc/etc/etc. i'd rather walk the few blocks south and then east to the liberty village lcbo which doesnt have a huge selection but at least you won't get harassed nor feel uncomfortable browsing the shelves.
lots of drunks inside this store making the experience of picking a wine difficult. hard to ignore the loud muttering and sales staff trying to calm the out of control "visitors" . god, i hope they get paid well, WITH benefits. probably, right? no one ever seems to leave the lcbo, the same rude lady has been working the cash for the past 6 years i've been going to this location.
yeah i bitch and moan but i still go, but only when i am purchasing staple wines or popular drinks that i know they will have. anything of a "rare" nature has me venturing out to dupont/dufferin or summerhill which is a alcohol haven for those of you who have never been there (they have a SEPARATE sprawling wine section)Listed in: FOOD & DRINK

This particular LCBO is a zoo on a Friday night (it closes at a relatively late 10 PM), probably because of all the last-minute booze-buyers in this part of Queen West. But hey, we can't always plan ahead, and that's why I was there too.
It's a relatively small liquor store, with a standard selection, and a lot that holds about two dozen cars. But before closing, the parking lot turns into a free for-all, with cars blasting in and out like a Nascar speedway. The store itself is just as hectic; there's a rent-a-cop at the door, and everyone's in line stocking up like a hurricane was coming.
