I almost don't want to talk about LFM - would love to keep it a secret in this area...

Fresh, fresh, fresh! And talk about Bang for my Buck!  That goes for the Fruits and Veggies, bakery goods (made on site)  the deli, dairy and meat...the meat is great here too.

I can spend $40-$45 and eat really well for the litterally the whole week.

This place does have it almost all, but it's getting popular -  the word is out and they do run out of stuff. Better prices than Save On up the road and can really be used as one stop-shop.

Try it, you'll see what I mean and you'll be back too.

I still get a bit of sticker shock when I shop for groceries in the Lower Mainland.

Until I found my local LFM.
This is the closest thing I can find to my beloved Kensington Market.
They have a decent selection... but more importantly, the produce is freshand the prices are fantastic.

They have a very nice meat and fish selection - albeit all their fish is frozen.
The deli counter and mini-bakery is great as well. My cat really loves their nitrate-free Freybe cooked ham! ;)

They have some things I wouldn't have expected like the imported Italian Italissima tomato sauce and paste - at prices cheaper than Bosa.

And the almond cookies? They remind me of being a little guy and going for Chinese with my family and having an almond cookie for dessert.

If I ever move away from the neighbourhood, I'll go out of my way to shop there... and clearly many others feel the same way: the parking lot is *always* full.

This place has a great selection and excellent prices. They could improve their inventory management, though; sometimes they run out of the salad mix in the large plastic container.
