We went on a chilly rainy day, which is perfect hot pot weather :)

The menu is a la carte and oh so fresh!  Soup bases were tasty as well.  Service there is spot on, it's almost as if they have mics at our table because I would mention something I needed quietly and ta-da, the server would come by with it!  Maybe I'm just really loud and I don't know it...either way, it was great.

The Chinese menu is definitely more appetizing than the English translations...good thing my friend was literate in Chinese ;)  Seems that the English descriptions don't do the items justice...

the four of us were stuffed at the end of the meal and the bill only came to $100.00 incl tax and tip... so $25.00 a person for the quality of food we had was more than reasonable.  I would choose this over AYCE any day!

    PROS:
    + High Quality Meats

    CONS:
    - Overpriced
    - Dirty Vegetables

Came to this place and was excited about having some hotpot since it was really cold out. Kobe Beef and lamb plates are good. We also got some tofu and vegetables. The vegetables were okay, until we got to the heart of the vegetable, it was black and should have been removed. Though the food was good, I thought it was a bit absurd to charge $6 for a water soup with 1 piece each of mushroom, tofu and cabbage. With hotpot, there are usually different levels of prices for the main ingredients and the supporting dishes, but here the dishes are all in one category. There was not much difference between a plate of meat an a plate of vegetables, are you serious!? Makes you only want to get meat when coming here. I also get the feeling the place likes to nickel & dime their customers too. We asked for some additional soy sauce and they charged use $2 for it, really!?

I have had my fair share of hotpot, heck I even make it myself so I know when a place is good. Hotpot it pretty simple, its boiling soup and you cook your own food. The plates of food you order should not be as expensive as they are here, especially the vegetables, which I doubt they even wash, since mine were dirty. I can't figure out how they justify charging so much, they are not even cooking the food for me. I am never one to talk much about the cost of food, but I also feel that with expensive food, you should get something special. This place was not special, all they provided was good material for me to cook and that is the least any hot pot place can do. I will pass.

I'm not Chinese, but I'm pretty sure this was an authentic Chinese Hot-Pot experience. The menu is somewhat difficult to understand and the interior could use an update, but the staff was friendly and the food was good.

All the food is cooked in a soup on the table and flavored with sauces from dishes provided. I loved the shrimp dumplings and chicken cooked in the savory sauce, but the meatballs the waiter ordered for us without asking were only ok.

I'd recommend this place to a friend for a group or family meal.

There's a reason why Landmark Hotpot House has 4.5 stars and it is because it's solid. Quite rare for me to say this but living in So Cali, there are really not too many legit hot pot places like this. The closest ones I've personally experienced are Little Sheep in the Bay - Nor Cal (fist pounds Susy C. for taking me) or Sweet Home Café on the island of Oahu, Hawai'i. Other than that, not too many other hot pot restaurants measure up or maybe I just haven't been exposed to them yet.

Ever wanted to know what it is like to drive in Thailand? Well, just hit up Landmark's parking lot to the rear of the restaurant. It's a hot mess and can be nerve wrecking. Good thing they do have an attendant on standby & it sure beats feeding the meters on the street. At times my soccer mom mini van came within inches of a BMW M3 and a MBZ ML350. Good thing I brought them aZn driving skills with me & gracefully avoided any mishaps.

We had a big party over 10+ and were lucky enough to be seated in their private room away from the rest of the general population. We even had our own personal waiter who was super friendly and very attentive. The guy was on top of his game.

Mix and match the dipping sauces to your preference and be ready to chow down. We had the split soups (forgot what they exactly ordered) which the taste will eventually change as you keep adding different items into it. If you enjoy a little kick in your hot pot, they will happily bring out some fresh chopped chili and you can also ask for fresh and/or fried garlic which I do recommend.

The hosts on our table ordered a lot of different items to throw into our melting pot of yumminess. We had everything from a variety of different vegetables to homemade meat balls. The beef was very red and lacked a lot of that white fat you tend to see at lower grade establishments. The taro was a little thick but I would suggest you cooking it a bit longer to soften it up. You can't go wrong with eating hot pot on a chilly night with a big crew. There's always plenty of food and you'll typically walk out feeling quite satisfied and possibly bloated.

Two other dishes that deserve their own recognitions would have to be the garlic fried crab as well as the butter crab with noodles. Although you'll have to go hands on and get down and dirty, the messy work is well worth it. Both of these crab dishes were off the hook. The noodles from the butter crab were soft and rich. The crab meat was not all raggedy but fresh and full of vibrant meat as if the crabs were in their prime before meeting their demise. I'm sorry but your sacrifices but nothing went to waste.

For dessert (if you even have room left) we were treated to sweet silky tofu with ginger to help soothe our stomachs. Besides the typical hot tea, they also have this cold plum juice. It's kind of weird at first but it slowly grows on you. It's almost as if they are trying to give you these things to help you digest all the food you're about to intake.

Landmark Hotpot House, you did not disappoint me on this latest trip to Van City. Overall, an awesome hot pot experience and its unfortunate that I would have to take a three hour flight just to get a sample of this again.

    $24 for Kobe Beef!!!!!!

Love coming here when the weather takes a turn for the wet and cold.  Nothing warms you up like a few drinks with friends and family around a table with boiling soup and different types of meat and veggies.

Tried the fried rice this time; wow!  It's a "must try."

Hands down the best hotpot I've even had. They offer exceptional customer service. I highly recommend the plum juice. The after taste/smell can be a bit much at first. Go with the spicy Sczechuan broth. It was darn spicy but I enjoyed every minute of it. The owner was so nice, he knew I liked spicy food so he brought out a flame burning stomach ulcer special sauce just for us. They renew your dishes when it seems dirty. With attentive service and delicious food, I didn't mind paying $95  for 3 ppl with 8 items of food, 2 juices, tea which I didn't order ($7.50).

Free parking in back alley. They watch your car too. We were here around 9pm on a Tuesday.

I can eat for hours as long as I have a boiling pot of broth, a pair of chopsticks, and a metal net.

We have been here several times for birthdays and special events. My first tip is to bring a credit card with a good limit on it. No, it isn't astronomical but you should really be willing to pay. If you are, then you're in for a treat.

First of all, I am pretty sure that they have employed the same service staff for years. Every time we have come here, I have seen the same servers. They are very pleasant, well dressed, and are fantastic in their service. I give a two thumbs up for that.

As for the food. WOW. There might not be anything more fresh than this. When I think of Landmark, I think of fatty beef slices, cuttlefish balls, and geoduck....amongst many other things. Absolutely Fantastic. It is hard to stop eating. When you do, you are satisfied and not at all unhappy with your experience.

As for parking. WOW. The free parking in the back is a fuster cluck. You will find your car blocked in by a dozen other cars and when you try to leave, the management calls the owners of the cars to have them move their cars for you. You can imagine that this takes a while. Meanwhile, there are normally 2-6 other cars waiting to park anywhere near. Not a good idea to try and drive down that alley way!

Overall, for hot pot, this is the real deal. I give 4.5 out of 5.

I have been going to Landmark Hot Pot house for over 20 years ever since I was a kid.

Recently, the restaurant has just changed ownership as the original owner sold his business and returned to Hong Kong.

Landmark has also provided quality food to the highest standards.  For hotpot, this restaurant is hands down the best in the city.

The late-night meals is also pretty damn good.

And also, this place maintains "stellar" customer service for an Asian business which is something that many other restaurants lack.

It's official. I am going to be trekking through the provinces of China in search of the perfect spicy ma-la sauce and hopefully a wise old chef will teach me the Sichuan cooking style (old school Iron Chef Chen Kenichi, where are you?)

We got the split hotpot with the spicy ma-la broth and the fish broth, along with three plates of fatty beef slices, shiitake mushrooms, handmade meatballs/fishballs, fatty beef chunks, a plate of vegetables, and noodles made out of fish paste. The beef was amazingly tender and the meatballs/fishballs were the best I've ever had. I've never seen quality of this caliber at a hotpot restaurant, but maybe that's because the restaurants in the DC metropolitan area use frozen meat and lack fresh ingredients.

The vegetables and noodles were cooked near the end, when the broth was saturated with flavor from cooking the meat. This provided for a wonderful noodle soup finish to the hotpot meal. Although I prefer the spicy ma-la broth while cooking the meat, the fish broth helped to cleanse the palette at the end of the meal.

To top it all off, we got doe-hua (sp fail?), aka silky tofu with ginger syrup. They serve this dessert in a wooden bucket along with a teapot of ginger syrup and a plate of brown sugar. The brown sugar was a welcome surprise as I've never had it with this tofu before, but it was delicious.

Service is never really a big deal for me, especially when the food is so good, but I must say that their service is the best I've ever experienced for an Asian hotpot restaurant.

I LOVE HOTPOT!!! Anytime of year! ...srsly.

This location was a tad bit challenging to find a parking space....but it's on a well known street and now close to a soon to open skytrain station  :)

I've been coming here since I was a little girl and this has been the go to hotpot and latenight congee/snack place for my friends and I forever.

It's always happening in here and the AC was blasting so it was fine eating hotpot in the summer. The hot pot ingredients were fresh, I liked the tripe, the different meat/fish balls, the veggies, the enoki mushrooms, the different slices of meat and the dipping sauces were good :) The soup bases were good too,...you can chose a mix of 2 in 1 pot! Awesome so there's always a spicy side and a blander one.

I crave the soup that results at the end of the evening and the mouthwatering sour plum juice! Goes perfectly with hotpot!

The latenight congee and the deepfried snacks like intestine, tofu and little white fish are pretty satisfying too @_^

Vancouver would be odd without Landmark Hotpot House!

I'm taking a wild guess that this is the place we ate at for last night.  It's so hard to find the right spot since there's like a billion chinese places in Vancouver.

My sister's in laws recommended it highly and it was in fact delicious.  the duo soup is absolutely great: thousand year old egg, parsley, tofu broth and the other, satay sauce.  Throw in some of that beef, dumplings, fish, chicken, cuttlefish balls, veggies, bean curd, napa cabbage....mmmmmm

Thank you Ma's for reacquainting me to the love of hot pot.

This is my  favorite restaurant hands down in Vancouver! Everytime I come back to visit Vancouver this is the first restaurant I want to go to. Even my grandma told my parents to take me here when I talked to her on Skype. My parents have been going to this place for more than 20+ years and the management has been the same. It's very consistent with the "Men in Black" being here all these years and they still remember my family "Hello Happy New Year Mr. Chen" and also my grandparents and cousins family when they come. What's funny is everyone looks the same, this place keeps them looking young! So it feels like home and the people here are great give great service.

Ok, onto the food. I really enjoy the satay soup in which you cook the food with. The chicken strips are my favorite even more than the fat beef. The tang sheng vegetable is good too, it's like romaine especially soaking up all that satay soup juice! The sticky rice is one of the tastiest ones I've had for a while. Even though it has shrimp and i'm allergic I still really enjoy it.

Pricey but I think it's worth going to.

    1. Chicken Strips
    2. Fat Beef
    3. Romaine  vegetable
    4. Sticky Rice
    5. Ask for the plum juice.

    * If you google image this restaurant you may find a picture of one of the servers William! Nice guy.

Definitely one of the best hot pots in Vancouver. Service is not great, but it was pretty busy and hectic.
The ingredients are fresh and of good quality. The scallops were still wriggling on the plates when served. They also have Kobe beef for those in the mood to splurge.
Just wish they have garlic and spring onions along with their dipping sauce.

I love hot pot especially winter time, I have been this restaurant for past 15 years.  I went there for dinner tonight, it wasn't busy as before.

We ordered fatty beef, fish, squid and shrimp ball, taro and pig skin. tofu, veggie and sticky rice.

    Everything so fresh and good.

I love hot pot and this is my favourite restaurant.  I have been going to this place forever.  The service is consistently excellent even though it's always busy.  I definitely recommend making a reservation.  They can accommodate large parties and special occasions.  It's hilarious when the waiters sing "Happy Birthday" in English AND Chinese.

The ingredients are always fresh and generous portions.  The seafood always comes to the table wiggling on the plates.  Along with the usual fatty beef and scallops, I suggest trying fresh fish prepared two-ways.  First, they filet the flesh and then steam the remain bones with garlic, fresh green onions and soy sauce.  Yum.

Absolutely FRESH ingredients (the ocean is right there), lots of selection, busy.  They use split pots which is GREAT, one with just broth & another with more of a satay soup.

Parking, though, is a BIG problem...street parking only & there are lots of shops & food places around, so mealtimes are THE hardest.

My favorite hotpot restaurant. With the many all you can eat hotpot places I still find their quality does not compare with this one. The satay soup is so rich and favourful you don't need a dipping sauce. I recommend the 4 variety balls, the fatty beef or if it's within your budget try the Kobe beef and the fish tofu is a melt in your mouth goodness you can't find anywhere else. Don't forget to try their sour plum juice after the meal. If you still have room for dessert try their dessert tofu served in a wooden bucket. Or stay for a midnight snack incl their famous congee and order several small dishes.

This is probably the oldest and most famous hot pot restaurant in Vancouver.  If you're into hot pot, you should try this restaurant.  I find their items to be fresh and the hot pot device to be large and effective. Honestly, I am not a big fan of hotpot because you can easily do it at home. Just buy the items at an Asian supermarket like T&T and get one of those portable stovetops and a large pot and bingo. However, if you're too lazy to buy the items and clean it up, then Landmark Hotpot House is a solid choice, but I find their prices to be on the high side. You should try it at least one in your life time.

The food was good BUT parking was a BIG issue. We had to park really far and walk to the resturant. The hot pot was amazing, but the experience was ruined by the other patrons that ate there. They were loud and noisey, it was hard to have a normal conversation.
